It's nice to have an alternative to the Pink & Orange place next door. I have only been in for breakfast. The food was good, and they have a few different fresh options you can use to customize it. Ambiance inside is reminiscent of a cool little coffee shop. My biggest gripe, however, was my take out experiences. I usually eat in, but a few times I was in a hurry while passing through, so I called ahead. Both times - they made my sandwich wrong. Ugh! I cannot say enough good things about this place. Get the Godfather sandwich - it'll change your life. Want something without Roast Beef? Get the Blackbird. Want something "healthy"? Get the Protein Special. The choices here are limitless and the sandwiches are top quality. You will not leave unsatisfied. I highly recommend calling in your order or making sure you do NOT go during regular lunch busy times as you will wait. Since moving for work into Windsor I had to find a new lunch spot. Mission accomplished with the Whole Deli! I can't say enough good things about this place. The food is amazing and offer sandwiches, wraps salads and snack, perfect for someone busy at work that needs to call ahead and stop by or someone that had time to eat in. They keep it cool on hot days and play light music which is perfect for a break from reality. Anyone attending TWD for lunch will be greeted with a smile by notably Angie (hope I spelled that correctly!) and the surrounding staff that'll take your order and produce it extremely fast. Love love love coming here so much better than going to a fast food place for breakfast. Everything is made fresh and never microwaved. You can call ahead so it's ready when you get there. The only thing I don't like is that because they are next to DD you can't get coffee. read more

Okay the food was decent but the customer service is extremely lacking and I won't be back. I've worked in restaurants so I know how stressful it can be but I felt the employees weren't very efficient and were pretty rude. During my lunch break I called and ordered a turkey club. I was told it would be 10 minutes. I show up and pay. Granted I have my phone to my ear but I am making eye contact with the cashier and just kind of vaguely listening on the phone. So I pay and stand next to the counter waiting and waiting and waiting for my food, as my lunch break minutes dwindle. Finally after 30 minutes I find it appropriate to ask for the status of my food and cite their original estimate of 10 minutes. One woman tells me "well you haven't paid yet so...". At this point in incredibly frustrated and say "I paid already, it was actually about 25 minutes ago that I paid when I first got here". Then there's some scrambling and she comes back with my sandwich that's been sitting there the ENTIRE time. They didn't call out the order in the entire 30 minutes I waited there, nor did they obviously give me my food when I paid. I understand the lunch rush is difficult and that mistakes happen. But I was very unhappy at having spent my entire lunch break waiting for something I didn't need to, and the fact that the tone of the workers was fairly rude considering it was their own mistake. This is a great stop for a quick sandwich right off the highway when you are travelling 91. The service is usually pretty quick and always friendly. The ingredients are all of good quality (boars head) and they have quite a few different breads including a gluten free option (which I have not tried). I usually go for their chicken salad on a wrap which is very tasty. read more

Stopped here when we were looking for a deli near the airport that had gluten free sandwiches. My wife had an excellent turkey sandwich on gluten free bread and I had a very good Italian mix. The portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. read more

When the boss is away... I stopped in for a tuna on rye with lettuce, cheese and bacon around 20 after noon today. There were only a few customers in front of me at the register waiting to place their order. The counter person was quick to take the orders, though I overheard her say to a coworker who asked her something that she hates making sandwiches while she took my order, and I thought to myself that's really not what I want to hear from an employee who works at a sandwich shop. Once I paid and went to find a spot to wait I realized that the rest of,the patrons in the restaurant, and there were more than 10, were all waiting for their orders. The wait was approximately 45 minutes and orders didn't start coming out for anyone else in front of me for at least 25 minutes. The staff was in the weeds and that happens, but it was never explained or even acknowledged even when the crowd of office workers with no time to spare began to commiserate on the wait. Once orders started coming out, I witnessed more than one return because the order was wrong. Finally I heard someone yell "tuna with bacon" (why not assign numbers or ask for a name?). I grabbed it and left. The sandwich, once I got home, I found had no bacon. The tuna was fresh and so was the bread. Perhaps a staff meeting to tighten this ship. read more

My wife and I like this place. Its certainly no frills..you order your sandwich...bring it out to your car or back to the office to eat...and you have a delicious lunch. You can't go wrong with Boars Head. Last time my wife had the Turkey club...I had the Godfather(roast beef/bacon/cheddar cheese). Its always good. they put lots of ingredients within each sandwich... very few seats within the deli...limited atmosphere. employees are all nice but its designed to order..grab...and go!! perfect spot for those on a time limit lunch. read more

Love this place! I work in Windsor, and there are not many good delis in the immediate area. All Boar's Head products, so you are assured of getting the highest quality meats, cheeses, etc. The pricing is also quite reasonable. All in all, a very good value for your $$. They also have a wide variety of Deep River potato chips, which are, without question, the best chips I have ever had (Sweet Maui Onion are my fave.). In addition, I think the Proprietors work there every day, which is an added bonus. They are quite friendly and nice to boot. If you work or are otherwise in the area, definitely drop by. I have not been there for breakfast yet, but I will soon. read more

Best deli around! They use all Boars Head meat and cheese, as well as quality fresh ingredients to craft classic and inventive hot/cold sandwiches, paninis, grinders, and salads. They sell local Deep River chips and house-made sides. The Whole Deli has a huge variety of beverages. My favorite menu item is the bacon, egg, and cheese on rye... an excellent fresh egg breakfast sandwich when I'm on the go. The Capri panini (turkey, pepperoni, provolone, jalepenos) or the Godfather (roast beef, cheddar, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo) are amazing. Lunch time during the week can get packed so I recommend calling ahead if you're in a rush. They can't serve coffee due to their location next to Dunkin Donuts but the manager doesn't mind if you bring a cup over to go with your meal. Way too expensive. We got 2 hard roll sandwiches (an Italian combo and a turkey) and paid $15.15. The ingredients were fresh (Boars Head and good vegetables) and there's a nice choice of sauces but that was it. Sandwiches range from $6.95 to $10. No chips or ides included. If we'd each had chips and a drink, we could have spent $25! No way! read more
