The funny thing is there are actually closer card shops to us, but we still choose to make the drive here because the prices are consistently better. I've compared them against a couple of other local shops and even many vendors at Frank & Sons, and A&N usually comes out ahead. What really stood out during our latest visit was how fair they were with store credit. I brought in some cards from my personal collection that I was willing to part with, and they offered a value that felt reasonable and honest. That store credit quickly turned into Pokémon packs for the kids, which immediately made their day. Seeing my kids walk out of the store excited and holding their new haul reminded me why we keep coming back. Good prices, fair trade values, and a family friendly experience go a long way. The shop is super close to home, I brought my daughter in to check out some cards. We found one she…read moreneeded for her pokemon set and it was marked $280. This is way over in the actual value. First, the gentleman that was working in the store was so busy watching TV. He paid no attention to us. Then, once we got his attention, she asked about the card. My daughter, a little on the shy side, looked at and inquired about the card. He said he would match online value, we found it at about $173, he said he needed to get $190. My daughter offered $180 and he seemed to ignore her. I told her we are not paying that kind of money for this card at this shop. That card will sit there and has been sitting there probably for months. We left the shop and will never return again. Paying fair prices for individual cards is something we do often. Do not buy here unless you wanna get shafted on your prices because they do not constantly monitor what they have with price guides. Hence the $280 price tag. Their packs and boxes are fairly priced. I can see if I was looking to buy a box of cards or a pack or two I could swing by here but will not for all the reasons above. Do yourself a favor check out A&N San Dimas!

I found Carpe Diem. The store is small and off a highway in some industrial shops. It's not a huge shop but is not limited in what they have. They are also open every other day due to schools being out of session. And they ask for your drivers license when you go in... I'm not sure why... but it is what it is. I think they require student ID if you're a student. They said they gave teacher discounts too but I was not offered anything when I went in. They had everything I needed and more. I like to get copic refills, and they have them behind the counter. I'm sure it's to prevent theft. Michael's and Blick does the same thing. You can find all the painting and illustration supplies you need. They have a selection of craft woods and tools along with clay, etc.... Carpe Diem is my new home base for the art supply. I'll definitely send my design students here and will be back for all my artistic supplies.
