I love this place. Food and service is always great. One of the best places for lunch south of the airport.

We ordered a variety of dishes, and everything delivered. The street tacos were excellent--both the steak and chicken were on point. The steak fajitas (fajita feast) were a big hit, especially with my son. The esquites (corn salad) was flavorful, and the tres leches cake was a perfect sweet finish. Service was outstanding. Shoutout to Trent for being attentive, professional, and keeping his composure even with some difficult customers--he did a great job. Parking is easy and convenient, which is always a plus in Atlanta. All in all, a great experience. I'd definitely recommend it--easy five stars.

Lavish décor, a staircase that feels like it's straight out of my mother's ancestral home, and tortillas that are made fresh while you wait. The flavor speaks for itself. It was the perfect setting to bond with the team, all while rocking Covilian-inspired outfits and just chilling. You can choose to camp out by the bar or cozily settle at a table--the food will wow you either way. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, even offering to snap your team pic when you're ready for a memory. No Mas! I'm not sure it's a good idea to say "no," because you'll just want to keep coming back.

The café and the cantina next door are physically connected and share a patio, but the café side has a calmer, cozier vibe. They've also got a little school‑store area with Latino handmade and authentic merch, which gives the space a unique touch. I went for the lunch special: chile relleno + fish tacos. Flavor‑wise, the food lands right between authentic Mexican and Tex‑Mex -- not trying too hard to be either, just doing its own thing. Fish Taco -- 9.2/10 Super solid. Fresh, well‑seasoned, and even better after I adjusted the garnishes to my liking. Chile Relleno -- 7/10 They use a four‑cheese blend, which was a bit overwhelming for me, and the batter was on the harder side. Still enjoyable, just different from the traditional style. Chips & Salsa -- 9.5/10 (11/10 with the spicy add‑on!) Do yourself a favor and ask for the habanero crisps on the side. Mix those in and it becomes elite. Red Velvet Cheesecake -- 8.5/10 Rich, decadent, and a must if you've got a sweet tooth. And I have to shout out Charlie, who was holding down the entire café by herself. Friendly, patient, and on top of everything. She made the experience even better. Would definitely stop by again next time in town. Would recommend if youre in the area.

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels intimate, upscale, and full of energy without trying too hard. It's the kind of place that instantly makes the night feel special. What keeps me coming back is how creative the menu is. Poor Calvin's has mastered the balance between Southern comfort food and bold Asian fusion flavors, and somehow every dish feels like a signature dish. The lobster fried rice is unforgettable, the crispy beef is packed with flavor, and the lobster mac and cheese deserves every bit of hype it gets online. Even the cocktails feel thoughtfully crafted instead of rushed. One thing I love is that the experience is consistently great. The service is always attentive, the presentation is beautiful, and the portions are generous enough that you'll probably be thinking about your leftovers the next day. I've brought friends here, recommended it to coworkers, and honestly judge my Atlanta trips by whether or not I made it to Poor Calvin's. You can tell why this place has developed such a loyal following. It's not just dinner -- it's an experience. Whether you're visiting Atlanta for the first time, planning date night, or celebrating something special, Poor Calvin's delivers every single time. Reservations are absolutely worth it.

She checked on us at a steady pace but not overwhelming. Ambiance: lighting was low but table lights were available. Decor was beautiful. I do feel like some light music was missing. Since tables are a little close, it would be nice to have the music as a little distraction from close conversations with other guest. Food: the apps were delicious. We ordered seafood spring rolls, calamari and shrimp. Entrees were imperial duck and lamb chops. They were both excellent. Dessert was empanadas and ice cream. Drinks were amazing! My husband and I had dinner here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and boy were we in for a surprise. First and foremost, they sent us parking and driving instructions prior to our visit. Someone from the restaurant greeted us where the parking area is and walked us to the restaurant. I don't want to spoil much of the surprise but service here is impeccable. It seats maybe 10 and we received the best service imaginable. I love the little touches like putting a hook to the seat so you can hang your purse and providing a menu of the different food items we were eating with a "passport" stamp of when the food we were consuming arrived! But now onto the food... Again, I don't want to ruin the experience for everyone but I would like to point out that their dishes are very good and so fresh. We've tried other omakase restaurants and this place doesn't just serve sushi rolls, the food their serve takes on a journey or the different specialties Japan has to offer. Our personal favorites were the sawara from the zen garden course (the pickled ramp was such an interesting and inventive addition that made this way better), nama uni from the gai course (some quality uni that I would be dreaming about for days to come) and Chu-toro from the nigiri course (it was the right amount of fat for my personal preference). The Yaki sakana and sukiyaki courses were my favorites because of all the flavors these courses delivered. This was definitely on a pricier end for $255 per person, plus drinks - their cocktails were $20 each, they have a great selection of sake/wine as well. For me, this was a 4.5/5 stars as some of the food items were a miss, like all the seaweeds and octopus were meh. I also thought the uni rice was too sour for my taste. Other than that, everything was exceptional.

I was actually very surprised when we walked in. I was thinking it was going to be more of a pub like vibe, but it is very elegant - almost fine dining. Our server was SCOTT, and we all commented that this guy was an EXCELLENT Server! He is a big reason why we gave a 4 Star rating. We all opted for different bison burgers. After ordering, it did not take long to get our food. Which was good because we were there for lunch and we were on a time limit. The meat could have been seasoned more to my taste, but all in all it was a good burger and just what we needed. I opted for onion rings and they were delicious. The price was good too!!!! For the atmosphere and the service I would have thought that the food would have been a lot more expensive - but all of the burgers with fries came to $20 or less a piece. That's pretty much average for what you pay for a hamburger nowadays. It was also easy to park. There is street parking but right down the block there is public parking for like six dollars. So it was easy to get in and out. If we're ever back in the area again, we would come back for another bison burger
