As soon as I walk in a man and a lady are just standing there talking and laughing and they instantly look at me and say "oh we're closed" even though the door is wide open and then they're just sitting there kicking the shit. I just stand there with a blank face cuz I'm like...really.. it's damn near 30min till close time and yall are literally doing nothing. Lady says.. "well do you know what you need?" Cuz she knew I was like wtf.. so that was her attempt to help me, but I was returning something.. I knew it was gana be an issue so I just turn around and walked out.. they literally walked right behind me and closed the door n locked it. Stood there n watch me go to my car. You think they would help me when there's still 30 minutes to the store closes and there's nobody in there. It's not like they're busy. I'm the only customer in there. Pathetic il never step foot in there again.

Today 5/26/2026, I am greatly appreciated by the excellent service provided by the staff Arron S. . He carried the window screens to our car as some of them are big. He helped to load our purchased stuff into the car. The cashier accidentally made an input error by charging us the regular price of the bark nuggets instead of the sales price, Arron helped to solve this issue quick. He was so friendly, so helpful. Arron, thanks again for your great service.

The shower is leaking and the lawn needs watering, so I jumped into the car to get what I need. Although this is an Ace store, coupons are site specific and are not shared among the hardware stores. It's easy to get lost browsing all the options. Of course, it's still a fully stocked hardware store, so you'll find everything you'd expect for your home improvement and repair projects too. What really keeps me coming back is the atmosphere. It reminds me of the neighborhood hardware stores I grew up with. The staff genuinely welcomes you when you walk in, they're knowledgeable, happy to answer questions, and offer advice you can actually trust. On top of that, their prices are very competitive. Before bringing it in, I asked the cashier if it was okay since I was only going to be inside for a few minutes to purchase a few items. The cashier said it was fine. A few minutes later, the store manager, who I believe is named Evan, came through the store yelling, "Whose e-bike is that?" in front of other customers. Instead of speaking to me professionally, she immediately became confrontational. I calmly explained that I only needed a few minutes to finish my purchase, but she responded by insulting me and using profanity. I'm an adult, a paying customer, and a regular shopper at this location. There was no reason for the situation to be handled with shouting and disrespect. If there was a store policy, it could have been explained politely instead of creating a scene. I reported the incident to corporate, but because this location is independently franchised, they were unable to resolve the issue. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this store while this manager is in charge. Customers deserve professionalism and respect, not public embarrassment over a situation that could have been handled with a simple conversation. Ty

If you purchase materials like wood or pipe, they can cut it for you for transport! The selection of paint, hardware, garden supplies, light bulbs, power tools, adhesives, and most other typical household hardware needs are excellent. Based on size, they don't stock as much lumber or appliances as big box stores. Very helpful -- they do cartridge exchange for Soda Stream!! And have many options of Soda Stream flavorings. They also sell local honey up at the cash register! Altadena Hardware is my first choice for hardware needs!
