I've been here twice for their free coupon! It's so convenient, as the store was not crowded, so there won't be much of a wait. The chemical smell is a little strong, but they have so many neat items. I like their glove collection on the back wall--their sale prices are also pretty reasonable. The first freebie I got was the magnetic, metallic bowl, and the second one was the 4-pack microfiber towels. So far, it's working well and feels like a quality product. I had not shopped in-store at a Harbor Freight Tools (HFT) in years, as I used to stop by one closer to my house, until the past couple of weeks. I was looking for a few items that I needed around the house, and HFT popped up in my Google search. At first, I placed an order online, but realized afterwards that I had forgotten a few more items. I actually ended up being in the area, and made sure to stop by. At first, I could not find what I needed, but the cashier helped point me to the correct aisle for my items. Due to it being a Saturday late morning, there were many customers lined up to check out. Though there were only 2 cashiers, at first, they later opened up 2 more lanes. A week later, I also had to stop by to return one of the items from my online order and it was easy peasy to return my online order. Even though, the cashier had never processed an online return, their supervisor came to help initiate the return rather quickly. A few customers came in asking where certain items were, but they learned that HFT does not sell light bulbs, or nuts and bolts. Everything else to help with those (i.e. tools), but not those items. Even though we did not need those items, it was interesting to learn (filing away for future reference). It would take 2 trips, one to HFT, and the other to THD, which is okay since they are located pretty close to each other. This HFT location is pretty clean and organized, and usually plenty of parking in the lot. There are many great deals around the store. Overall, it is very convenient and items are affordable for a few jobs around the house. read more

Stay away from their clearance "as is section!" Purchased a predator generator we needed for a construction site. Generator wouldn't start so had to return. Items need to be returned gas free and that is an understandable policy. All the cashiers that helped me with the were rude and unprofessional. I used my debit card for the purchase under my name and for some reason their system wouldn't recognize. They had to give me cash and they didn't have enough cash in their registers so had to open the safe. When they were handed me the cash, one of the bills was tapped. I asked Monica the cashier to please give me a different bill. She started telling the manager I wanted new bills only. She then asked me if the replacement bill was good enough for me. Excuse me for trying to prevent another hassle. I had to drag their 90 lb useless product in & out of their store and purchase a 99 cent quality pump to extract a small amount of gas in the generator. Lesson learned if you are a contractor needing a good product just rent something that works while you wait for a quality item to arrive!! read more

This location is great, they always seems to carry the things I'm looking for, but it's their employees who make this location stand out amongst the rest. Monica is the absolute best, she has helped me countless of times with finding whatever I needed, and always has a great attitude regardless of how busy it is, which is something that is so rare nowadays and truly appreciated. I've heard so many complaints that the tools and equipment are cheap, both in quality and price and you get what you pay for... pity, because some of their merchandise is actually pretty good at a really good price. If your a mechanic for a living, I think you probably buy your tools off a truck or other commercial outlet, so you probably don't shop here... and that's okay. But for the occasional handy person doing light repairs, there's absolutely nothing wrong with these tools or equipment. Myself, I bought a 350 piece Craftsman mechanics tool set years ago before HF even opened. But now that Sears is gone, if I need a one off tool, I go here rather than Home Depot just because it's so much easier to find something . For my Jeep, I got a 9000lb winch here that performs just like the name brands my buddies have for about 1/3 the cost. I was able to pull myself out of mud just fine... and everyone was surprised. Not that I did it, but that it worked. My in-laws gave me a farm jack (Hi-Lift type) years ago and it still works. My wife's grandfather gave me a 4 in 1 battery charger that we used so much, the battery gave out and it doesn't charge anymore. But that's okay for a 4 year old jump starter. In fact, many of the items HF has are similar if not exactly like what you can get on Amazon for cheap without the wait or shipping...and you can get it now and actually feel it and try it out before you buy it AND returns are waaayyy easier. Most of my buddies who hate on HF have never bought anything here because of what they've heard. But I think now they're at least going to give it a try and find out for themselves if the tools and equipment are cheap in quality or cheap in price or both. Today I returned to see if it was found and stocked in the isle. Wasn't there again. The cashier called the back for a stock check. This amazing young man named Richard actually found my item. Harbor Freight is awful ..... poor quality, poor service. I needed a wood chipper - the 6.5 HP promises a 3" capable orifice, and the store explained that it could accommodate a 3" branch. LaHabra store had two come in, so we bought one, but they didn't process the 20% Harbor Freight coupon and stuck me with the full price. It was a hopeless product. Literally, it would process nothing larger than a 1/2" twig. We were so disappointed - I called the store and was told "bring it in with the receipt". We took it in, and they tried to charge us a "special order fee". What the hell? It was no special order, they were trying to screw us. I would have taken them to Small Claims Court had they persevered, so they backed down and processed the credit. Bottom line? Poor quality, lousy service, so be warned. Once screwed, fool is you. everyone that works here is LOST! Every time someone comes to check out they don't know how to answer questions or can't tell if something's in stock you wait 20 min for an answer! Dont even bother asking the manager she the worst one of them all, better off asking the homeless guy sitting outside. I usually go to the one in Anaheim on harbor. online showed they had the pressure washer I needed, I showed up and they didn'. So I proceeded to buy the next closest one. they took 30 min to bring it to the front and proc to say I couldn't use there $12 dolly outaide to load my $400 pressure washer as if I'm going to steAl it, every other store has allowed me to use a dolly to load heavy items. I'm physically disabled and wasn't shown any assistance to load my pressure washer not that the (12 year old) looking employeea would be much assistance. Every time i go to harbor freight they never have what I'm looking for I do not know why I still walk in there expecting that they are going to have the tool or what ever I'm looking for ! I sent in my lil brother to go buy a toilet plunger an even down to toilet plungers they don't have shit ! Haha he comes out with this stupid yellow pump tube plunger that they have an that thing didn't even work ! At all I just wanted a normal stick an plunger that's it ! So I ended up using the pump toilet thingy but I had to use it like a normal toilet plunger pumping down in the toilet bowl and now I'm wondering if I can return the stupid thing back it's useless just like harbor freight read more

I came in to get a tarp. That's it. I grabbed it found a couple more items on my way up to the register I was interested in and then proceeded to stand in line. There's two registers open. When one of the registers finished one of the people in front of me started to walk up to be next and the cashier looked at him and then looked at me and then told him that he'd have to wait for the other cashier to finish. And then she walked away and started piddling around. I'm not sure what they train their employees in here, but it's not customer service. read more

You sort of get what you pay for. If you are a professional or want to do professional work or want a tool that you will use for a long time then this is not the ideal place for you. If you have a one time weekend project and need a tool to just get the job done for a cheap price then You found the right place. Steven at the Glen burnie store in MD was very helpful. We were interested in using our 25% coupon on a Predator generator. He had to go in the back and check on the computer to answer all of our questions. This GB store had only 2 and we were not buying that day. As the coupon gives no rain checks, Steven also wrote down 7 other stores within a 30 miles radius and how many generators they had. Buyer beware. Harbor freight doesnt stand behind their product, tried to return the 6 ton jacks that were recalled. Mine were not the specific part number, but dont feel comfortable using a product that has similiar recalls. I told them that but they just said we arent accepting them. I told them keep the 20% restock fee and still no. So now if I use them There is a chance there could be a recall on them too, and Im risking injury. Beware of tools with "Moveable Parts" they have many. The problem is if you don't get the Warranty that goes with it that tool coming from an Off Brand name or Company. The Air Gun Harbor Freight broke down, right after the very first usage and when I took it back to the Store the Supervisor in a loud voice, he has to have a receit or he gets nothing that was a 150.00, I used one clip and it broke. I take it back to the Store where I purchased on Hwy 65 Conway, AR and the Supervisor by the name of Ronda raises her voice at me. Tells me I'm standing in the wrong line then they just tell me they can't help me. Beware of any tool that comes out of Harbor Freight they are Sub Par. read more

The only reason I gave them even one star is so that I could register this complaint. Horrible customer service. All I did was call and tell the person who answered the phone that I had a question. She immediately halted me and told me I would have to call back the next morning because she had an alarm going off. Went to this store today was purchasing a steel cart had to get a ticket to take to the register. So the cashier was calling back to the stock room to give the item number and and what the item was. Waiting at the register, the guy comes up front asking what the item is, she tells him a steel cart he says oh the plastic one..I look over to him say No the Red steel one...he says oh the black one..What! He goes to the back brings the correct one up. Get home to assemble it and 2 of the shelves were bent. Take it back give the receipt to the cashier they have the nerve to say they can take some pliers and bend it back! (WHAT) No I want a new one with No damage like I am expecting that I paid for.
