After the job completion, we wrote a gloriously favorable review for the and office team who supported us throughout the process. Now nine months later, we noticed anomalies in the system's performance. The team immediately set up a service call. Aidan Divarco, their ace warranty technician, was dispatched. He was here months ago as as we have a zone system splitting the house. This adds some nuance to the overall system. And on que, Aiden came in with sleeves rolled up. He is well trained and very intuitive. That's a compelling combination. Most owners of companies would steal to find a talent like him. Without sharing all the details and many hours of discovery, he really did not find something obvious. Yet he performed many checks of the system and did a few tweaks as the backyard was heating up for one of our first warmer weeks. I cannot emphasize how much we admire his truly genuine commitment to customer care along with his dedication and talent. He never has any excuses or even challenges that he is unable to hurdle. He's like the Everready bunny, locked and loaded and ready for bear. Hands down, he is the Valleys Michael Jordan superstar warranty "technician . And a great guy to boot. When I bought my house some 15 years ago, I inherited an air conditioner that was already itself 15…read moreyears old. So I've spent 15 years now on the edge of my seat, certain that it was going to die at any moment. Cynic that I am, if you had asked me when it would be likely to die, I probably would have told you "in the middle of August, on a Friday and after 5PM, when I'm least likely to be able to get someone to do anything about it quickly." And so did I set myself up for what came next: yes, my air conditioner died on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 7PM. Fortunately, I had Western Sky at my disposal. I knew from working with Brannen in the past that he was gonna be my go-to. He's honest, direct and approachable, a real "no stupid questions" kind of guy. However, it was Friday night - so my expectations were naturally limited. Imagine my surprise when he scheduled me for emergency service the very next morning! He thought he might be able to rescue it one more time, but alas, the compressor had actually failed and it was truly lights out. The day had come. I'm the kind of person who, when a brand treats me well, I like to stick with it. And so it was probably a sign that Western Sky actually installs American Standard products. Old Faithful was herself an American Standard heat pump from 1997. I know that things separated by 30 years are never going to be quite the same, but I feel good about the replacement being, essentially, the modern equivalent of the machine that treated me so well for so long. I feel even better about the fact that Brannen's crew arrived on Monday morning and had me back in air conditioning by Monday afternoon. Three days without air conditioning in the middle of August sucks, make no mistake - but this kind of service is increasingly hard to find, so I feared it would be worse. A big shout out and thanks to Brannen and his crew. I didn't talk much about those guys but they're super friendly and they did a fantastic job. I don't want to leave out this important detail: Brannen gave me a number of options for installation - all of which were reasonably priced - well within my expectations. Shocking! I can't say it loud enough: Western Sky gets my highest recommendation!

I called Cool Zone because they were authorized to perform warranty repairs on my ac system. The tech found that the compressor had failed and needed to be replaced. He confirmed the unit was still under a parts warranty so my cost would be the labor and new freon that was recommended. He quoted $3,300 for 4 hours of labor! Then said if i purchased a maintenance plan that covered 2 visits for both of my units it would be cheaper at just under $3,100. What? That doesn't make sense. You Buy a service plan and pay less ?!! I expect that the "maintenance" is not intended to take care of the units but to give them 2 more opportunities to overcharge for additional services. I was told they would check availability of the compressor and his office would call me the next day. I was charged a $89 diagnostic fee. I told him his office told me the fee would be waived for repairs over $300. It was obvious to me that he had no intention of sharing this policy with me and said he would discount the repair bill after the work was done. I heard nothing more from them. It has been 2 days. After looking into his price I was told by 2 different companies that the quote was at the high end of the range for a unit that was NOT under warranty. I did not share this quote with either of these companies until after they priced the repair. Both told me the same thing and both quotes were competitive. A different factory authorized business is repairing the unit including line set cleaning and new refrigerant for $1,800. This is a predatory business overcharging people that are stuck in the AZ heat with a broken ac unit. They say a sucker is born every minute. Dont be a sucker! Stay away.
