It was a lease purchase in Taylor, not Round Rock and he knew my name, proving he is unethical on top of being a crappy AC company. I rent a home and the property management team swear by his service. I've seen nothing but problems since he's been servicing our AC unit. The first time he scheduled an appointment and showed up on a different day and then tells my property management he wants a few because I wasn't home!!! After that I was told I still had to allow him to come do the service since he was their contractor. So I rescheduled and had him text me the time and date for proof. He showed up and spent less than 15 minutes to check the outside unit and inside unit, as well as clean them and add any fluids. I was told by other professionals it takes 30-45 minutes to do properly. Since then almost every time I get an email saying he will call me to get an appointment to the bi annual service that they pay him for he never does. He was suppose to do the spring service already and of course my ac breaks! Then to cover his butt he tells the property management I wouldn't answer his calls. Only guess what he never called. I had to show proof with my phone records. So now I'll be without ac until someone other than him can come fix it. read more

I hired Gary at Air Repair to clean my fan coil unit. He seemed like an honest guy and the price for his service was the cheapest. He said that severing the lines to take out the coils and clean them, as most (if not all) of his competitors suggested doing, was not usually necessary. Water started backing up under the fan coil into the house after his cleaning, and he came back and fixed the problem for free. A while (two months?) later I had him come out to provide a quote for replacing the platform beneath the fan coil that was, again, the cheapest. Another vendor I had come out to provide a quote for replacing the platform at this time took a look underneath and told me it was dirty and that a house inspector would cite it. I got underneath it and cleaned it with a wire brush, as the other vendor suggested, and the picture I've attached is what I got. I don't imagine the buildup I've shown here could've happened in the time since Gary's cleaning, because I only ran it for two or three days during that time because the house is being renovated. I texted the photo to Gary and he didn't respond. I then called Gary and started to ask him about it in a respectful way and he said something like, "I'm not interested, man", and hung up. read more

I called Gary when our AC (about 3 years old) began to intermittently cool- leaving us with a sleepless night. He was able to come within 2 hours of calling him in the morning. He checked our coolant levels and they were fine. He was suspicious that our unit wasn't draining completely- tripping the auto shut off. He told us how to maintain the drain in the future, then added some type of super drain cleaner to our unit for no charge. Within 8 hours our unit was back to normal- but he called the next day just to make sure. Gary charged us his basic visit fee and nothing else - which happened to be 1/2 the cost of the service fee we have been charged in the past by the bigger firms. Gary had put in a whole house filter last year, which saves me having to replace three filters in my returns. Per his recommendation, I scheduled a system check and filter replacement for today. After he looked at my filter, he said it was surprisingly clean, and could go another six months before replacement! I had a great experience with Air Repair Co. My AC had stopped blowing due to a frozen evap coil. I had one of the bigger companies stop by to give an estimate. It turns out I had a refrigerant leak in the evap coil. My system is based on the old R22 refrigerant, which complicates the fix. The competing company used this to attempt to upsell me on addition parts/repairs. I called several other big name companies, none of which would talk price over the phone. Of course, they wanted to come "look at my system" I'm sure to find ways to sell me on expensive upgrades. Then I called Gary. What a difference. He was very willing to talk openly over the phone about what my options were and the costs involved with each. He offered several options to fix our problem, all of which were cheaper than the lowest offer I had received from the big names. Gary's fix also allowed me to avoid upgrading the outdoor unit and stick with the R22 refrigerant while also being forward compatible with r410a if in the future the outdoor unit dies too.
