He checked out the two systems and we got clean bill of health (can furnace get sick?). Any problems in past were with AC unit which has got tough job keeping house cool in 100+ days. Recommend one sign up for the one of their three maintenance plans to keep your HVAC in proper working order and avoid breaking down at wrong time. read more

This company is listed on Trane's website as one of their authorized service providers. I had a capacitor go out on my unit and immediately diagnosed that as being the case, easy enough with info on YouTube. I called Air Mechanix because they are close by in Plano, and an authorized Trane repair company. I asked what it would cost, and they stated it would be $100 to come out (the next day, not on some emergency basis). I told them to bring a capacitor with them for my model # unit. i know that part is a twenty-dollar part at most. Tech shows up, I tell him it's the capacitor; he verifies that immediately and replaces it. Working fine again. He's done in 10 mins. I get a bill emailed to me nearly 2 weeks later for $349.06. Beyond horrendous. Complained about it; they did nothing to reduce it. Complained to Trane about it; they said they could do nothing to as Air Mechanix is a vendor that sets its own pricing for services. Should have looked to see if they were BBB accredited before calling - I figured if they are Trane authorized, they would be. So. Very. Wrong. If you're in Plano or the surrounding area - be aware that this business will deceive you and take advantage with their ridiculously gauging prices. Being a former employee of this company my opinion of Bobbi and her boyfriend are very negative. The boyfriend actually seems to like to prey on new employees. He found out how much I was getting paid and actually told a customer how he felt about it. The customer told me out of the boyfriends presence to watch him. Sure enough certain jobs just mysteriously started having things go wrong after I left them. Bobbi is a control freak, period. I almost fill sorry for her boyfriend because he has to answer to her. She actually lied about my unemployment, tried to make me look horrible so she wouldn't have to pay it. Fortunately her attempt didn't work. Overall Bobbie and her boyfriend are bad people and I would never recommend working for them...BEWARE. If you work for them don't say I didn't warn you. read more

We have used Air Mechanix for over 10 years for our AC and Heating service and cannot say enough good things about their work ethic, character, and customer service. We had a wonderful experience years ago in our previous home when our heater died during a really cold winter and began using them for regular service from that point on. This week the AC unit our current home died (which we knew was due to be replaced when we bought the house). They were able to fit us into their already packed summer schedule and get us fixed up with a new system really quickly. I'm always nervous having strange people in my house tracking mud on my carpet, messing with my shit, and telling me how much money I need to pay them. Not the case with these guys. We recently had some drippage issues with our A/C that our warranty is being a little bitch about and refuses to pay for anything. The warranty folks sent out some technicians who basically came in here and were like "whoa, it all needs to be replaced," left a huge mess, and charged us $89. After lots of back and forth with the warranty people, we decided to get a second opinion and were recommended the Air Mechanix guys. A guy named Jason showed up and was super nice. It was raining outside so I was terrified of mud but luckily he had some booties for his shoes that he was very diligent about wearing in the house even though he had to go in and out a bunch of times. He opened our unit up and inspected it much more thoroughly than the other guys. He noticed that the glue on our primary drain was no longer sticky so he reglued it for us after he cleared it out. I had gathered a bajillion questions over the few weeks we had been dealing with the warranty people and he answered every one very honestly. He showed me exactly what was wrong with everything and even did some extra tests for me just to physically show me how everything was working. He explained our options to us and it was clear that he wasn't just trying to get our money like the other guys. We now know exactly which pieces have issues and what the risks are if we fix it, clean it, or just let it be for now. He also offered for us to call him at any time if we had more questions. AND he completely cleaned up after himself and made sure everything was the way he found it. He told me it was nice to meet me and wished me a good weekend. Is it so hard to be friendly, other businesses?? I would definitely recommend them if you need A/C guys, this is how a professional business should be run. read more

I am thoroughly impressed by this company! I came home Thursday evening at about 4:45 to find my AC was out. My property management company called Air Mechanix at 4:50 and they were at my house within two hours. Sadly it wasn't an easy fix and a new compressor needed to be ordered. They said they would be here Saturday morning and it would be approximately a four hour job. They were here before 9:00 and done before noon. Cory, who came the first day and Dale and his crew who were here today were all amazing! They were respectful, courteous, friendly and efficient! I would recommend them to any and everyone. We will NEVER use this company again and would never ever recommend them to anyone. Run fast, don't do it. Find another company to work on your air conditioner. So, my experience starts here... My husband called these guys to come out and replace a fan motor in our A/C unit. Why he didn't call the usual A/C company we use is totally beyond me, but oh well... So, he finds this company, calls them, and they come out and replace the fan motor in the unit. OK....all is well....for about 3 months and then the unit stops working again. The fan motor is dead. Well, you know what happens next -- we call them and tell them that the motor they just replaced has gone out. So, they come back out and replace it with another one. Now, at this point, we're at the end of the season, rolling into late fall so that A/C season is over. Fast forward through the winter (when we're not using the A/C, btw.) So, now it's Spring in Texas and time to turn the A/C on again. We turn it on and guess what - the motor works, but it is loud, VERY loud - like, you can hear it in the house loud. I call our usual A/C guys and ask them to come out and look at the unit Air Mechanix worked on and tell us what's wrong with it (btw, our original A/C guys replaced our other A/C unit motor about 1 month to Air Mechanix replacing the 2nd unit motor - and no, we haven't had any issues with their repairs whatsoever - none!). The good A/C guy tell us that there's a problem with the motor Air Mechanix put in. So, there you go....another bad motor from Air Mechanix. My husband calls and speaks with Bobbie at Air Mechanix. She's the owner and doesn't mind telling you that. She gives him the run around for 3 weeks - says that they will come out and look at it, but that they're busy with other customers, blah, blah, blah. My husband speaks with one of her technicians who happens to be her husband. The result is the same thing, different person. Now, I'm at the end of my rope with these guys. So, I call and speak with Bobbie. She tells me that they came out and replaced it once and that they can't come out again for free. They will have to charge us to diagnose the problem. My question is...when you came out to replace it the first time, why didn't you diagnose it then? Seems reasonable, huh?? - particularly given that you're having to redo your own work. Then she starts telling me over the phone that it is probably an electrical problem. Really?? Since when can someone diagnose an electrical problem over the phone? She goes on to explain that they're a small company, working full days, now it's heavy season and they're busy, blah, blah, blah...and oh, she doesn't take well to people calling her telling them that they need come out and fix a problem for free (totally omitting that she never fixed it to begin with, but clearly kept the payment). So, as I stated in the beginning. We will NEVER ever ever use this company again. We paid them more than $700 to replace a fan motor with a new one (which should have been half that price) and all we got was a bad motor and then it was replace with another bad motor. Outstanding company! Well run, with very well trained technicians, great attention to detail and excellent customer service. Five stars on all counts!!! When it came time to replace my old air conditioning unit, Air Mechanix's owner herself took the time to research the best options for me and to educate me on the upsides and downsides of each choice. The installation process was very smooth. I was particularly impressed with how organized, tidy and clean they were during the installation and and their respect for my home. They even wear little fabric booties over their shoes wile inside your house to make sure they don't track any dirt from outside. I have never seen such concern for the client before. They also recommended that I purchased the warranty, and explained the reasons. Thank goodness I listened to their advice. A year after the unit replacement a major repair had to be done and they took care of making the warranty effective, performed the job and collected from the warranty company. Absolutely no hassle for me! Again, who does that for you? No one else that I am aware of. Air Mechanix has earned my loyalty with their honesty, excellent work and customer service. I have had the privilege of working with Bobbi Pappas & Dale Connor at Air Mechanix for over 10 years. When i turned 75 years old my wife was having a number of guest over to celebrate. Three days before my AC went out. It was an intermittent electronic problem and it kept shutting down every few hours after the service call was performed. Dale Connor came back 5 times in three days including late one night and also right before the party started and fixed the problem. He only charged me for the initial service call and parts. This week the same 14 year old AC totally went out and has to be replaced. My new AC unit cannot be installed by Air Mechanix until 6/19. Dale came came to our rescue Thursday night and was able to revive the old unit to cool enough until the new install. I would never ever use another HVAC company. I have recommended Air Mechanix to my friends and neighbors who have also experienced the same outstanding service and support i have. read more

It's August in Texas and warm air is blowing through the house. It's also 4pm on a Friday. I called Air Mechanix and by 6pm we had a technician drive up. He checked inside and outside our home and within moments found the problem. Our condensation line had been blocked by leaves from the rain the night before. He not only cleared the line but showed me how to do it if I ever had that problem in the future. Now that's customer service. It was such a simple fix but a less reputable company could have really taken me to the cleaners. I have since referred them to a neighbor who needed a new motor and a friend who needed her whole unit replaced. Both are thrilled with the service and quality of work they received.
