I was there recently. I didn't sit down for one sec . The bartender was rude . aggressive, pushy and loud . You can't sit here without buying anything she said . I said calm down I'm trying to decide what I want I want something well I wait for my train . It's like anywhere else you go . You should have some type of patience. So she reply I'm eating my lunch she said . Wow!! So I'm being rush to buy because you on lunch . Bad customer service . Policy should be changed. Upstairs between LIRR and Airtrain (if you can't find it) solid quick drink spot with several TVs and seating. Get a decent poor mix drink or select from several draft beers and some small bottled wines. I ordered the goose ipa and she served it in a Stella glass, walked away before I could ask for the proper pint, 5oz more and what it's priced at so I felt okay asking for her to top my beer off after one sip. She did question me saying "that glass is a pint.." I corrected her that Stella glasses are 11oz and a pint is 16oz. A little tension-filled-response which is why the 1 less star. read more

Nice people working here. The area kinda sucks. Lots of crazy homeless people walking around asking for money and talking to themselves. Other than that it's a cool place to grab a drink after a flight on the way to LIRR. Or if you're waiting for a Jamaica train it would be cool grabbing a drink here. I'd come back. Great customer service by Nanish and great ambiance and great locals just enjoying drinks felt rewarding. I could not help but notice the horrible upkeep of the bar . For starters I ordered a Jameson double on the rocks and it was very nice very healthy, meanwhile meeting some local patrons they brought to my attention that there was a roach crawling in the bar sink right in front of me. Talk about awareness smh (shaking my head). Look at the picture if you don't believe. I've been here many many times but I'm not gonna come back due to the fact the bartender felt like it wasn't a big deal and still charged me for my second drink which was a tap Blue Moon. I didn't come here looking for a freebie but for good service and a drink after a long day at work. If you want to be blind then come here and enjoy but be aware of your surroundings. read more

Located just upstairs from the LIRR platforms, the Air Bar offers good drinks and service at reasonable prices while saving you from having to trek outside to the street in search of another establishment. Located upstairs between the Long Island Rail Road (Jamaica Station) and the Air Train to JFK Airport, and conveinently located a block off of Archer Ave. on Sutphin Blvd. in Jamaica (E, J, and Z trains) this little spot is a nice place to grab a drink whether you're coming or going. Most of the regulars are friendly JFK employees and you can meet many interesting people who are either coming in from a flight or going out from a flight because the Air Train is literally a stones throw away from the bar. Enclosed in a glassed in area with food conveniently located right next door (10 feet away) the bar has a nice decor and is very clean. The only reason I give this spot a 4 is because of the people who come in from time to time off the streets because it is that convenient. (That and the bathroom situation noted below) Police presence has kept the trash out for the most part but some tend to slip through the cracks at times but the bartenders are on top of it. Bartenders are all super friendly, some more "alive" then others but when they get to know you and you get to know them, they are awesome people. For you smokers... A double door which is the entrance from the LIRR leads out to the upper corridor of the railroad station where currently (Nov 7, 2011) smoking is permitted, but I have heard rumors that the railroad and/or Bloomberg will be ending that convenience soon. There is a long escalator down to street level right next to the bar where it's perfectly legal to smoke. The bathrooms are not attached to the bar, but are a few feet away towards the turnstiles to the Air Train. They are public bathrooms, which can have some lingering people at times, but it's constantly manned by the cleaning staff whom you will see walking around and cleaning constantly. So they are not dirty, just public. It would be awesome if the bar had it's own dedicated "customer only" rest rooms but it's really not a big deal. Awesome spot!!! And if you can provide proof that you work in JFK, you are eligible for the JFK discount which isn't a lot but if you're there for a while, it comes in handy. Oh and last down point. I don't know if they've changed it since I made a huge fuss with one of the managers but as far as I know now, there's a 5 (five) drink buy back rule. Not the coolest thing for a regular to have to deal with so in my opinion, management is a little greedy when it comes to taking care of their regulars. read more

So no one will ever go out of their way to visit the Air Bar. That said, Jamaica Station need more Air Bars. The staff are friendly, drinks are reasonably priced, and it makes for a nice way stop awaiting the LIRR from Kennedy Airport, or extended delays at Jamaica thanks to the stellar LIRR service. I had no idea this place was open til about a month ago. I think I complained in my Jamaica LIRR review that there wasn't a bar to go to and drink while you waited and duh this place has been open over a year now. This is located in the Air Tran terminal, not inside the Jamaica LIRR wait room. There is also a cafe right next to it. Both are open very late at night but I'm not sure if its 24 hours. Prices are decent but don't expect any prize winning drinks. The bartenders seemed bored and it took a while for one of them to take my drink order. Again this is a huge upgrade over sitting in the wait room or platform for your train. So I can not complain. read more

I went there with a friend who is a regular at the AirBar. We went on a Tuesday night and i was surprised the Jamaica LIRR had a bar open so late. I went and had a drink out of curiosity. It was 2 am and they were still open. A few regulars and my friends were sitting around the bar. The bartender (i forgot her name) polite and a pretty girl with very long hair...my crazy friend kept asking to touch it...smh...thank goodness she knew them and nicely said no...lol. I come to have a simple drink to start my weekends with coworkers after work on Fridays. Sometimes Rude Rema is there. I pray she isn't as I got a long list of complaints about her. Rude Rema, as me and my coworkers call her? they think it's funny but it's starting to piss me off and that's why I'm here. Rema is short with you and nastily impatient. Stands over you when she's leaving making you feel rushed and uncomfortable when signing your bill. Bar is nasty, and sticky. She gives bartenders a bad rep. You can tell when someone wants to give real hospitality and when someone is phony and full of shit. I think Gives plastic cups so she doesn't have to wash dishes, even thou I asked for a glass for my wine. And to finishing it all off she is always thirsty for more tips. I give 20% as I used to be in the industry but she still rolls her eyes. Enough is enough. Maybe I need to find the owners emails and write to them. But either way this Rema chick sucks. read more
