Affordable and authentic Thai food! I'm rarely on this side of town so I had to try it. The fish cakes had a good flavor and nice crust, and they paired well with the sweet sauce. The beef salad was fresh and light, though the beef was just a bit overcooked for my tastes. As for the papaya salad, I think it could definitely be a lot more spicier and perhaps more fish sauce. We had a great experience at Aim Thai. The thai tea was super yummy (I'm a huge thai tea girl). The basil chicken fried rice was great! The chicken panang curry was extraordinary! There aren't a ton of tables, but definitely enough to seat a couple parties at a time. I believe there's 5-6 tables. Regardless, it didn't effect our experience. Nobody does comfort food like miss Aim Thai. This place is one of my favorite Thai restaurants of all time. I like to see it as a hole in the wall honestly not fancy or anything on the inside which is totally okay. The food is so flavorful and well put together for example the potatoes in the curry have a cute wavy cut to them and is cooked to perfection. And the drinks are delicious and I cannot get enough. I sometimes order here for take out too. The portions are very good for what you get, and their mango sticky rice when in season is so delicious. Decided to try this hidden gem after searching for a new Thai spot in the area. We almost passed the restaurant due to it being dark outside and not a lot of lighting. The sign of great food is the aromas hit you in the face when you enter and this place did just that. The staff was super professional and attentive. It's been about five or six years since I reviewed this restaurant. It's definitely time for an update. I'm updating them to five stars because the food is really good and priced well. Where in Houston can you find an amazing courier for 639 to 899. Also the pad Thai with beef and chicken is really good. The eggrolls are really good as well. All in all I'm pretty much a really good client to these guys now. I am a fan. I will note that the food taste better there compared to when you get in and get to go. If you get any sort of noodle dish to go, by the time you get home the noodles stick together. So with that being said if you're getting pad Thai or any other noodle dish I will suggest you eat it there. Eating the food there versus eating it to go is a totally different experience. Customer service: the people that work here are very friendly and very nice. They go out of their way to make sure you get everything you need at your table. However I do think they only have one pan because my son and I ate there his food came out first then mine came out about seven minutes later. Same thing happened with a couple that was sitting next to us. That is hilarious. They only have one pan or one cook. Not sure other than that I will still go back and try them out and try more things. read more

The food here is delicious. My knowledge in regards to Thai cuisine is very limited so take this review with a grain of salt. But nevertheless I did enjoy my meal. For this visit I ordered the Tom Sab, Panang curry and a fried banana with ice cream. Tom Sab is a decent portion size for the average person. It is an intestines with beef tripe soup. It came with a lime and chili on the side. Panang curry is pretty small but comes with extras of your choice of meat, except shrimp. They say there are no extra shrimp so I guess that means a moderate amount. But I chose beef for mine. This curry caught me off guard because it tasted sweet. Still delicious but sweet curry doesn't mesh well with my palate. Once again, I lack knowledge in Thai cuisine so I am unsure if that is how it's supposed to taste. Lastly comes the fried bananas. I do enjoy deep fried bananas and having ice cream with it... what a marvelous combination. I do not believe I need to say much else besides that. Now besides the food, the major downside to the restaurant is the building itself. It is very warm and quite small. So something to think about if you plan to eat during the busy times or eat a hot soup on a 98° day. If you're around that area, give the place a try. read more

Found this place on door dash since we were craving Thai food. We ordered the Thai shrimp appetizer, which was 5 pieces of deep fried shrimp covered in panko breadcrumbs. These were delicious and crispy! Served with a sweet and sour sauce and I would def order again. For the entrees, we ordered the yellow curry with chicken and the pad see eaw with beef. Just a heads up that the curry doesn't come with rice, so you do have to order a side of white rice ($1.50). The curry was really good. We ordered it medium spicy and it had a nice kick of heat and good flavor. The pad see eaw was good but some of the pieces of beef were over cooked. It wasn't a deal breaker but next time I'd prob order a different protein. I ordered a dessert that reminded me of a childhood vietnamese dessert-the lod chong. It's pandan jelly noodles in a sweet coconut milk cream. It's delicious and they packed the coconut milk cream separate so you can add as little or as much as you want. If you've never had this dessert, add the coconut milk a little bit at a time until you've reached your desired sweetness. We usually eat it cold, but this was served warm and it was still delicious. Overall, excellent experience and very kind family owned business. Come check them out if you haven't! read more

Delicious hidden gem for those who like authentic Thai/Laos food. They also have delicious plantain/taro chips made fresh daily in house (huge bag for $6 I believe) The wings are an absolute must. Huge in size and super flavorful! The pork larb was also delicious and had a unique flavor in comparison to other places I've had this dish at. The restaurant is super small and the owners are in the kitchen cooking so this place is certified authentic. I will definitely be returning (probably for to-go), def for some wings and more larb! I finally visited this cozy thai spot in an area of town I don't travel through much anymore and now I can see why it keeps being named to the top 100 restaurants in Houston, according to the Houston Chronicle. Try to look past the gated property and the non-descript building. Of course, the interior is nothing fancy either, but the food is the obvious draw here. The building is a good size, but the actual dining area is very small with 2 double tables and only about five 2 tops. I was the only dine-in customer and tried my usual, pad kapao (aka. pad kra pow)...and added pad see eaw and their bargain priced crab fried rice. Actually, with food this good, all their prices are very affordable. The meal took a while to come out, probably because they had so many takeout orders. I have frequented this location. I judge all Thai restaurants by their Pad Thai. I think the dish here is mid at best. It's too sweet and I don't think they are using the correct noodles. I've had stir fry beef with fried egg is good and the portions are large. In addition, this is the first Thai restaurant that doesn't do spice. It's a tiny restaurant with only a handful of tables for dining in. There was no one else there while I was there. I got the greens curry with chicken, brown rice on the side, and an order of spring rolls. The spring rolls fame with a sweet and sour sauce. They were good, very fresh. Love the fresh mint and herbs inside. She asked if I wanted the peanut sauce or the sweet and sour, I went with the sweet and sour. It was tangy, a little spicy. Not like the sweet and sour you get at Chinese restaurants. I ordered the curry medium spice. Next time, I'll probably try spicier. It had some heat, not overwhelming though. The flavor was good, and it had plenty of veggies and chicken. Make sure to order your rice to go with it. White rice is an extra $1 and brown rice is $1.50. I got the brown rice. Good thai food in the hood (right across the street from the notorious ghetto-slum-filled Garden City apartments). I ordered two pieces of the shrimp spring rolls. The rice wrap was soft with the veggies/shrimp inside being fresh. The peanut butter sauce was sweet and sticky. I ordered the chicken pad see ew noodles and the serving size was just right for its fair price. The flat noodles were chewy and flavorful. I didn't like it being kind of warm inside the restaurant considering it being 102 degrees outside today.
