I hired AIA Movers to transport my belongings to Orlando based on a $1,500 quote provided by Anne Mary. She repeatedly confirmed that both pickup and delivery would happen on the same day, April 28th. This was key to my decision. Not only was that a complete lie, but I later found out the quote only covered a tiny amount of truck space. Once half my belongings were loaded, they told me it would cost over $4,000--a bait-and-switch tactic, leaving me with no choice but to pay. Neither Anne Mary nor Steve Goldburg (who claims to be the manager and owner's nephew) answered my urgent texts, emails, or calls to confirm when or where my items would be delivered. Steve was condescending, rude, and completely unhelpful. After much follow-up, I finally received confirmation at 8:00 AM on April 29th that delivery would be the next day, April 30th. But then, a few hours later, I got a call from someone I had never spoken to, saying he would deliver my items that same night, April 29th. I scrambled to be ready. Even worse, the third-party delivery driver was told not to unload my items until I paid the full balance--and he also couldn't get anyone from AIA Movers to respond. When the delivery finally happened around 9:00 PM, items were missing and damaged. Pickup was just as bad: the crew showed up late, moved at a glacial pace, and one mover had a diabetic episode and couldn't help. Another mover openly complained the entire time and asked for a tip, then nearly got into a fight with a coworker over it. The absolute worst moving experience I have ever had. We had a small move. Ian quoted and ensured we had enough space. They picked up our stuff 2 days later than agreed. They told us that it was 100 cubic feet more. Okay we agreed - wanted it done. When they delivered it - our 8 month old mattress was gone. The pickup mover wrote gibberish on the bill of lading and it was impossible to get the count right. The delivery drivers threatened us and tried to extort more moeny out of us. They overcharge, They take your stuff hostage, They delay months, and they overcharge more for charging you for their delay (you didn't hear that wrong. They will tell you are the fault for the delay even though they tell you they don't have drivers/cars and will charge you $250 for each month they delay it, for me, it was a 2-month delay), They break your stuff, and They Lose your stuff. They lie to you throughout the whole process and extort more money because they know they have something you care about. They repackage things by putting tape that leaves stains. And just throwing delicate electronics etc into a big box where it wiggles and breaks... After poor transportation of packages, they break boxes and all your linens rip and get dirty!! It seems this company is full of sadists who get pleasure from somebody's suffering. Especially its CEO or main manager Shlomo Avraham (if he came to pick up your stuff RUUUUN!!!!) he deliberately instructed his crew to arrange items in such a way that they take up more space and when they was failing this task (probably because they're nicer people than this crook) he took things under his control. Total bait & switch going on at A1A Movers. Steer clear. Seriously, don't even consider them. I read these reviews but still chose them figuring the happy people just didn't leave a review. I was totally wrong! Look at all the complaints about Ian O'Reily (who was my salesman too). Don't ignore us all you'll be sorry. I had an initial move estimate completed over the phone for just over 700 Cubic feet. Per their rules, I was allowed to update the the cubic feet at any time up to 72 hours prior. I did so and the new estimate was for 830 cu feet. The storage fee for both estimates remained the same at $150-$200 per month. They packed and moved my stuff into their truck. After everything was inside they told me they only had the original estimate and refused to honor my line haul discount since the cubic feet went up. Even had they brought the 2nd estimate the same thing would have occurred. You see they have a "policy" that if their online estimate is low, they won't honor their written estimate. This isn't told by their salesperson, written in the estimate, or written in the contract brought to the move. Apparently we are not to know this policy, so that we choose them only to find out later we'll be charged hundreds more. They claim I shouldn't have let them take the stuff if I didn't like the loss of the discount. But what was I to do at this point? Lease is up and stuff is on the truck. That's the scam. They know they have you. Had their policy been written into their documents or communicated in advance, I never would have chosen them in the first place. Further they tripled the storage fee to $600 p/mo. Stephanie claims the DOT will not allow them to charge the original storage fee and they must charge me more and this conveniently occurred right after my my move which is why I was quoted a lower price by Ian O'Reily. Are we supposed to believe the DOT is in the business of mandating what private companies charge and that A1A was charging too little? When I asked Stephanie to provide the info the DOT provided them forcing this mandated higher pricing, she replied "I don't have to". Instills confidence doesn't it? Their VP of CS, Steve Goldburg told me "I wasn't a priority" and never returned my calls thereafter. I finally got in touch with Stephanie who told me she was a CS manager and she basically said "tough luck" after saying "Adios Mio" when I tried to explain why this is unfair. Moving is always a stressful experience and I expect certain charges to be over the estimates. But this is egregious. Save yourself the hassle and learn from my experience. Please please please do not do business with these clowns. Some service companies are friendly and well meaning, but somewhat incompetent. That doesn't bother me as it does most people as long as it results only in minor inconveniences here and there. Other service companies are rude but generally competent. I'll take that if the price is right, but probably will try to find other providers. This company is a true gem: both rude and incompetent. We used A1A twice now and the first time went very smoothly while the second round was a total NIGHTMARE! Ignore previous positive reviews, like the one I gave two years ago. They have changed as a company, and it's all gone downhill! Trust me, pay a little more elsewhere for better movers. But if you want to consider A1A Movers, consider my recent experience experience in December of 2021: If you want to have your furniture missing, then delivered broken, you should hire A1A Movers. If you want to be up-charged for monthly storage without your knowledge, you should hire A1A Movers. If you want to be charged a WHOLE month of storage because they fail to communicate they don't prorate storage fees, you should hire A1A Movers. As result, if you want to be charged $300 for ONE EXTRA DAY of storage, you should hire A1A Movers. If you want a rude and unforgiving representative, speak to Steffany. She will tell you that your stuff will get sold to auction unless you pay them the extra storage charges they force upon you. If you want to be forced to illegally sign a document that states "We have checked all items listed and numbered 1 to inclusive and acknowledge that this is a true and complete list of goods tendered and of the state of the goods received", before they even show you your items on the truck, you should hire A1A Movers. A1A movers are Fraud. DO NOT USE this company for your move. Move from Irvine, CA to Austin, TX I had horrible experience with the service this company had provided. Right from the start where Sales team contact you to the time when a team of movers arrive at your place. The first thing they try to do is to plan your move on the last day when you have to actually move to a new place. They put you on the spot where you are left with nothing but to only avail their service. Problem with the Sales team: They will give you a quote based on the list of items which you are planning to move. They will provide you a quote accordingly. They never send anyone in physical to your place to look as what they have collected the information from you is the same for which the quote is prepared. In my case, they gave me a quote ~$3200 based on the list of items and the respective count. I confirmed everything over emails about the charges for extra stairs etc. and everything is considered, and quote is provided to me then. The sales representative (Anne Mary) really had problem in speaking English, so that's why I was doing most of the conversation over emails, in writing. Problem with Movers/Pickup Delivery Team: This team is the real fraud. The guy name David is the one who's running the show. The last thing you want to experience is someone being rude, dis-respectful. He mis-behaved. If indeed that would not have been the last day, I would have simply thrown this guy out of my place. He's such a crap person. The problem starts when he arrived in the apartment, he looked at the things as said this quote is not correct. Well, i said this is what is shared by your company and not prepared by me. Then he said that he doesn't know, but this whole move will take ~$4500. Then I tried to contact the sales team and moving company, but no one picked up my call or responded my emails. This proves this whole is a setup of this moving company to cheat the customers. Well, after much of arguments i had no choice but to move ahead. The other setup they do is to take signature on multiple papers without telling you much about them and will say this is part of the move. They never share those/copies of those documents with you. What i have realized that if they break something or it's missing during the delivery they will just fill up those papers to match the delivery details and say this was either already damaged or was never there. Again, a very nicely planned setup by this company. The other problem is that the quality of service they provide. They not only broke couple of items in the move but also 3-4 large sizes boxes are missing. My husband and I booked to move our items from New York City to Washington State on March 14th, and it was scheduled for delivery at the latest on March 29th/30th. It is now May 1st and we still haven't received our items. In fact, our items have not even left their storage unit in New Jersey. The thing that they don't tell you during your painless and easy-seeming booking process is that they use a 3rd party moving company. We already paid for 70% of the bill, yet we are not sure if we are ever going to receive our items, and if they will be in the condition that they were in when we packed them. DO NOT. DO NOT. I REPEAT: DO NOT hire A1A Movers. This has been the single WORST experience I have had with any business (if they can even call themselves that. It feels more like a scam) in my entire life. Worse yet, I'm still in the midst of dealing with them, as they still have all of my furniture. First, like all reviewers below have noted, DO NOT fall for the easy scheduling/payment out the gate. It is not at all indicative of their business practices, and half of what they tell you are bold faced lies. For example, I was told that if I wanted my things delivered by the 17th, I should have them picked up on the 10th, and that this would ensure they would arrive no more than a day or two late. Well. On the 10th, the movers arrived 3 hours late to pick up my furniture without apologies and seemingly vaguely drugged-out. On the 17th, I call to inquire what time I should expect the truck to arrive -- and girl on the phone (Steffany) rudely and nonchalantly tells me THE TRUCK HAS NOT EVEN LEFT NJ. On top of that, she tells me that it might leave this week, next week, or the next... she really doesn't know yet. NOT ONE PERSON TOLD ME THIS WAS IN THE REALM OF POSSIBILITY when I made my reservation. She rudely acted like this was a common business practice, as if I was a dunce for not simply assuming that I'd have no idea when my furniture would arrive. *Note that this is in violation of your Moving Rights under the Dept. of Transportation. They are required to give updates and update the paperwork accordingly*. THEN, I try to call for updates and they REFUSE TO ANSWER MY CALLS. I even called into the 877 customer service line several separate times, was told they would figure out what was going on and call me back... and they never did. Even more CRAZY, when I told the last guy I spoke to that it was clear my calls were being avoided, he told me this was absolutely not the case. So, I told him that these Yelp reviews were reporting almost exactly what I was experiencing and that I wish I'd seen them sooner... GUY TRIED TO TELL ME I WASN'T LOOKING AT THEIR YELP PAGE THAT WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE, as if I were in the twilight zone or having a hallucination of bad yelp reviews. THEN, switching his bizarre story for another, he tells me that Yelp is a fraud and none of these reviews are true. Once I let him know I'm a lawyer and will take this to civil court , if necessary, he let's me know that my shipment is small so they are having trouble filling the truck (keep in mind, their contract claims they do not contract out trucks), so they will figure out an alternative for me and call me back the following day... Surprise surprise... NO CALL. So, in short, having already taken my money, they are holding my belongings indefinitely without answering my calls or giving me any updates. *Note that this is also in violation of Moving Rights, specifically Subpart F*. As of now, days after my shipment was due to arrive, I don't know it's status or when it will arrive and *still* no one has called me back or returned my voicemails. I would never ever use this company again. Not only was my driver rude, unprofessional and childish...(literally walked out the door as I was trying to talk to him), but the customer service at dispatch was also rude and unreliable. I could honestly write a book about not only my experience from Florida to Pennsylvania, but friends who moved from Florida to Michigan. Both our experiences included damaged items, my price increased after my estimate, theirs doubled from 2k to 4K, plus some of their stuff was missing. I can't say I recommend A1A Moving. I used them to move from New Jersey to Pittsburgh for school. My parents and I told them when I needed my stuff by, but they didn't show up for a full week later. I was left with no clothes, no bed; not much of anything. We called a dozen times, but no one answered us for two days. We ended up having to spend a few hundred dollars just buy an air mattress and other things I needed to live, that I should have had delivered to me by A1A. He assured me we will be there and I gave them a deposit to lock in the scheduled date. Today I got a call from a girl who spoke so fast I told to slow down and start over. Don't do it! This company is a fake! They don't have the trucks, the staff and the professionalism to support your move. We moved my 95 year old mother in law from Ct to Az. First we were told by sales rep Ian that he would take care of us from pickup to drop off. Once boxes and furniture were picked up in Dec 28, 2021 we never received a call or txt from Ian ever again. The delivery didn't happen until Feb 17! That's 9 weeks without her belongings. So we flew our to Az 3 weeks after pickup. And we had to stay in hotel as we paid for her new assisted living because she didn't have a bed. I called daily for weeks Stephanie answered from dispatch and was so unprofessional. No compassion to the situation, only that we were still within the contract. She never called back when she said she would. They didn't have a truck for over 4 weeks. Then finally after 37 business days. Thats 8 weeks waiting to hear the truck was coming. Only after calling every single day, being hung up on after being on hold for 30 mins or being told we still don't know when truck was coming. Finally it arrives, we are getting $30 a day in credit for days late but of course we were greater than 75 feet for delivery, which I wasn't told about but was in contract, we had to pay additional $300 to get our belongings after weeks of paying hotel and buying things to survive that long. I was quoted one price for being a previous Client with them a year ago. I was promised by a Sales Manager named Ian that the price would be locked in no matter what. After failing to deliver my move due to "them needing to rent a smaller truck to deliver my goods" I was charged an extra fee when I pushed back at the driver considering they are a moving company that should know zoning sizing for streets an areas in NJ and after the driver told my Father in GA that my items would be removed off of the large truck and placed on a smaller truck I was charged a difference of $450. Stefanie the most horrible, unprofessional person you can deal with wanted me to pay for all charges up front which I have never done until goods are delivered it felt like extortion from start to finish. After everything was brought into my apartment more than 4 days after the initial day no later than the 9th which was promised by Ian I realized one of my items were not delivered a mop and broom brand new after asking the driver why the quantities did not match all I got was maybe the "other driver made a mistake" Honestly the experience was not transparent, they do not keep their word they make threats to not deliver your property until extorting upfront money. Horrible . I spoke to the sales rep Elizabeth Baum for weeks planning our trip . She constantly reassured me that I would always be able to contact someone - her directly or the dispatch department. I was told by Elizabeth that dispatch department would call us "Friday between 4-6pm" because they don't work on weekends . I waited and waited for the call - emailed her after 6pm since no one called . Of course no reply - called dispatch dept No one picked up . Called again Saturday hoping someone would reply- nothing of course . So what would any rational person do ?! Figure another way to get the move going as we have to be out of our place Monday . Rezo then reassess the job, and tells me - it will cost an extra $1000 because after adding in the children's furniture it's another 100 cu ft. he also says, he's been at my house for 30 minutes now and he doesn't have time to discuss this, "you have to move, i don't have to move!" Rezo curtly tells me. i respond with a, "no thanks, this is NOT what we signed up for." he quickly gathers a few of the papers from A1A moving and storage and heads out. when i ask him, can they bring back the half dozen boxes they'd began moving (as none had made it on the truck - they were staggered between floors). he flipped his hand at me and said, "get someone else to move 'em!" as crazy as that sounds it gets better! i call my cc company to inform them about non-delivery of services and while on the call they flagged A1A moving and storage; turns out, while filing my complaint against them for the deposit charge $400, Rezo had tried to run an add'l charge of $435 before he'd even driven off the block! luckily the company caught it - so it didn't go through!! what a thug and a scam artist. i'd reckon placing your things in the back of a radio flyer and moving it yourself, before entrusting these UNprofessionals at A1A moving and storage with your belongings. A1A moving and storage and its services are a joke. So after 18 days of waiting with no calls & me making all effort to track or get an ETA on my delivery from this supposed "moving company" from Georgia to Florida I finally got my stuff after being told the run around & not much at all to go on. They get here & want to charge me more hundreds on top of what I already initially signed for on the paperwork. Did they have any care to my belongings either ? Nope looks like it got dragged by the back of a truck & not inside it. I'm irate & have already contacted my lawyer to take these monopolizing greedy no care whatsoever people to court! If I was you look into a different moving company you are so better off. On top of it I have health issues & love on disability when I told them of such & that their greed is affecting me more than they know... did they care? Nope again. By mistake I entered my details in "Movers.com" website, this website float my personal details to around 30-40 vendors. Based on this information A1A movers Sales guy contacted me. At first they will give your irresistible deal, like 50% less than their competitor, plus will give benefit like 30 days free storage and blah blah..... Once your are caught within sales trap, then come the real magic. For me, my reservation was confirmed and I made the 30% initial payment. Just 10 hours before, I got a call that they do not have any trucks available for my shifting and said that earliest possible day its available is like after 4 days. I was in very helpless condition, my lease was over in the apartment and I had booked the hotels in my new destination place and I do not had any place to keep my stuff. Ultimately I had to pay $1200 extract for another movers to take my emergency request. This is a fraud company and you must get engaged with them on your own risk. read more

Had my son and I sleeping on the floor for 22days just this February 2020. Meanwhile on the delivery day is where I found this company has stolen $1500 worth my items. Do not book this company!! On my move from Pompano Beach FL to Jersey City NJ, they lost my dining room table, a huge bedroom headboard, and a glass shelf. A1A movers is so sketchy. The team was responsive and polite up until I paid for my move. As soon as I booked them and made my first payment, they were extremely difficult to get in touch with and rude. Upon move in, they lost over $1000 worth of my furniture and even broke more furniture. I highly highly suggest you do not book A1A Movers under any circumstances. Where do I start! I originally wanted to have mybthing picked up on Monday May 28. I called back to change from Monday to Sunday because I have a early flight leaving out. I was told that there was no trucks leaving out on Sunday and now they realized there was a mistake when I booked and there was no trucks leaving on MonRep Alicia told me that there would be no additional charges from my binding quote. Stay far away from A1A movers! What they do to get you hooked initially is quote you with a great price for the inventory of the things that you were moving saying they will come and set your things up and take them down and move them on a certain day. The quote that they gave you is not accurate, when the movers come they will charge you additional money. I told them exact sizes of containers I was moving on the phone and was still charged 300.00 more than quoted when the movers came because they said they were bigger than they expected. The day they came to get my things I was told they would be there at 2pm. They showed up at 9pm at night. They were very rude and hasty with moving things. Only one guy really moved anything and the other talked on his phone the whole time. After HOURS of moving they shove contracts in your face and try to make you not read them. READ THE CONTRACT!! They won't offer you Insurence on your things. Which means they can "lose" your stuff. Then you will get .65 per pound. So say you have a thousand dollar camera on the truck. Gets lost stolen or broken they give you .65 cents. Don't sign this demand that part out or demand Insurence. When you sign the contract, the contract states they have 21 business days, so an entire month for them to deliver you your goods. They waited until day 29 to show up at my door even though they promised me it would be there on the first of the month. An entire month with no things was really bad and the company will not work with you to get there any faster. After hearing this I called twice a week to check on the status, which they never know where the movers are. The woman in dispatch is extremely rude (not like the one in customer service which is friendly and lures you in). She didn't apologize for the delay and said "well you signed the contract". I told her the movers picked up on the 24th of last month and I was told on the phone it would be delivered on the 1st. She told me too bad. Movers showed up very late on the 29th. Unloaded everything in the house. Things were VERY beat up. They laid out parts for the things they took apart like my desk, tv stand, and glass end tables. And said they would put back together. After they unloaded everything (again not very gentle with your things basically throwing if off the truck) they said we don't know where the screws are and we can't put your things back together. I said well how can I even get the screws they said not our problem. I have this on video. He told me to make a claim on the paper I signed and I did. So I called the movers the next 2 days to see about them paying for my things now that I have useless items in my house I can't put back together. Nothing. I wouldn't even give this business one star. The worst business ever. They went from telling me that May 25th would be a feasible delivery date then said it would only be possible if I paid $1,000 additionally. Then told me there are no trucks available at all the entire week. So I'd have to basically wait a month before getting my belongings. Stephanie is the most rude employee I've ever had to speak with. Customer service doesn't exist. The best part is I've read their reviews on other sites and the company will respond with no type of apology. They just throw the blame on the customer. Sorry that we're spending hundreds of dollars and trusting you with our valuables so excuse us for getting slightly frustrated when we hear the whole process will be delayed weeks. The Worst, RUN!! they took over 6 weeks to deliver my stuff from Winter park to California when they promised 3 weeks. After numerous calls nothing but lies but differrent versions. They broke my table, lamps and most of all my mahogany bed that cost $3400. I sent a complaint to claimsdepartment and they offering me settlement for $ 156!!! such bullshit. Horrible people. the worst experience ever with a mover, Bait and Switch, Lies, People Yelling and treating to keep your things, excuses for increases and money up front demands that weren't agreed to. if i could give this company negative 5 stars i would. lied and cheated us from start to finish. atlanta to northern california. originally quoted basically the same price as a uhaul and gas. showed up 3 days late, their subcontractor (they say they don't use subs),tripled the price, saying we had more stuff than we said(lie). we ended up having to leave our furniture and some appliances. i took 1/3 of the stuff myself in my own 21ft cargo trailer with my wife and pets. their driver said he would be there on the 5th(lie) the driver shows up today, wont let me measure my stuff. had to call police and still ended up hackng to fork over money to them. it looked like a blind 3 year old loaded it. basically anything made out of wood was broken including some family antiques. once driver unloaded our stuff i measured the empty space myself and sure enough our stuff took up exactly what we were originally quoted. steer clear of this company and be aware they operate under a few different names. i called the company numerous times and they kept sending me to the wrong extension until closing time. lets sum this up 3 days late pickup, 11 days late delivery, most furniture broken, and i was overcharged at least 1 thousand dollars absolutely the worst business experience of my life. if you've already paid a deposit, you're better off eating that money and doing it yourself see y'all in court!!!!! expect my lawyer to be calling soon now to go thru all the boxes and see how much is destroyed under the surface, which by the way apparently they are not responsible for either, the only positive thing about the entire ordeal was the professionalism of the driver, he never lost his cool despite me losing mine uncountable times and i'm a super easy-going guy. read more
