This is a very nice Ace Hardware store…read more The displays outside and inside really caught my attention; very attractive. I was on the hunt for a pair of tiny halogen bulbs to replace the burned out ones located under my microwave. My first stop was actually Walmart and they didn't have what I needed, so off to Ace I went. Found the bulbs, but was also shocked at the $6.99/each price. Menard's sells the exact same brand I bought at Ace (Westinghouse) for less than $2.50/each, but I didn't want to drive across town. Amazon was also selling a pack of 10 bulbs for less than $10, but I didn't that many nor did I want to wait for them to arrive. You can't beat the customer service at Ace, but their prices are quite steep on some items. I'd return again because really liked the store and friendliness of the employees. Plus, you can feel good about shopping local. My go-to place for key cutting. Wheelchair/walker users beware: very narrow aisles.

Since I'm a foreign student at UIUC, I was really worried someone would take advantage of my lack of familiarity with the US and scam me out of my money. The purchasing process went as smoothly as possible - got the car for a test drive, got it examined by a mechanic, got back, signed a couple of papers, paid, and got the car with everything else take care of. I later got the license plates delivered by mail. A week after buying the car I took it on a small trip to Chicago and back, and several warning light lit up. I called them immediately and they told me to bring the car in tomorrow morning. They took the car and fixed everything I had asked for, no questions asked, quickly, and most importantly free of charge. The problem turned out to be a faulty sensor, and the car has been running perfectly ever since. I gave them 5 stars because they delivered everything they promised, were fair and honest, and this is what matters the most when buying a car. Service was good both in quality and speed, and workers were nice.
