Absolutely love this place. I've been in several times in the last month and even when creating my own bowl there's a huge variety to change up the taste. I've only tried the burrito with eel and cream cheese (can't remember the name) and it was delicious. I added a little spicy mayo to go with the sweet eel sauce and it was perfect- not too spicy for a wuss like me. When I heard they were opening up an authentic Poke place in Santee, I was so excited! I've been here many times now and they never disappoint. I always have the large which is 5 scoops. Compared to sushi where it's not uncommon to get a $11-$13 roll and you're not full at the end, I love how I am totally full at the end of my poke bowl. Their fish has always been fresh, they are generous with the sides and sauces and their customer service is always great (greeting you with a smile and asking how your day is going). Came here thinking it was another Ahipoke, like the one on Rosecrans. When I saw it wasn't, I still decided to try it and I was greatly disappointed. The fish did not appear or even taste fresh. The toppings were mediocre, they have minimal sauces and the guy serving food was not personable at all. The other reviews that mention that people giving this place 5 stars must not have had poke elsewhere are accurate, imo. Im surprised this place has 4 stars. I went for a poke bowl and the woman who worked there was not overly friendly and didn't explain their portions or options and just told me to look at the menu. The proteins were not overly flavorful and the portion sizes were tiny. I feel they charge too much for such small potions. I'm bummed since I've been looking forward to trying them out since this is the closest poke place here in east county but honestly next time I'd rather make the drive as I've definitely had better elsewhere read more

Wife and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Good selection, and fresh. However, they were out of Edamame. The burritos look interesting. Their salad base for Poke Bowls is just that, mix greens. I've had good Poke in quite a few places/regions and my favorite salad base has been a Quinoa, Kale mixed green salad with edamame and miso sauce. Otherwise, very nice place. This is a great poke place and I'm glad we have a local shop to go to. Their bowls have lots of toppings to choose from and I love all the options. They keep adding stuff to the menu as well. I haven't tried and of their drinks or ice cream but they look good. We've eaten here quite a bit. Took a star off because there have been a few times they've closed early when we got there and they've had issues with their credit card machines and we don't usually have cash. read more

Ordered the fiat burrito thinking it'd be a good sushi fix. Cilantro, lemon, ahi, and jalapeño with rice all wrapped in a super-dry seaweed wrap. It was so dry it was hard to swallow. Not a lot of flavor for a ten buck "burrito" and was not very filling at all. Not sure we will return to try the poke bowls because they looked super small. read more

I just went here based on all of these 5 star reviews and a majority of them must be fake! I ordered a large bowl (5 scoops of fish). At most poke places I can't even finish this-- at Ahi Poke, I was completely ripped off. Each scoop had a measly 4 tiny cubes of fish. Seaweed salad as a side? She put in maybe 8 tiny hairs of seaweed before I asked for more. The only thing she loaded up on was drenching the whole bowl in ponzu and a heaping pile of ginger. Definitely NOT worth your money. The only thing that changes with the sizes of these bowls is the amount of lettuce or rice. There are plenty of other poke places in the San Diego area that won't rip you off. Why does everyone feel the need to jump on the trendy bandwagon? This place is average at best for poke. If you are a poke virgin then you probably think it's good. If you have tried true poke and other places around San Diego then you will be disappointed here. There was no traditional Poke. It took 15 min to make a bowl and burrito. Ridiculous. The large bowl was way off on the fish to rice ratio. The BMW burrito lacked flavor and for $13 I would expect a larger burrito, similar in size to all the other Poke restaurants. Had to try it out after having poke bowl in mission valley. Was very impressed fish was excellent and all of the toppings were fresh as well. Had a great selection of everything you would want on a poke bowl. Atmosphere was clean and comfortable. Only thing I would see for improvement would be a larger selection of beverages. But that's not a end all for me by any means. I will find myself here often in the further as it is close to my office. read more
