DR HANNA IS THE BEST! Of all the other doctors I have in all the other specialties there are Dr. Hanna is by far the kindest and most caring of all of them. I can ask her any question, and her answer is always easy to understand and offered with kindness. Her staff actually answers the phone, unlike so many others where you get a message machine and no one calls back. The staff is nice and always willing to take long and winding questions for the doctor and then call you back with the answer the same day! I had my first appointment with Dr. Hanna today after a first time seizure over the weekend. Her staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, but more than them, Dr. Hanna was amazing. I came in very anxious and unsure what to expect, but she was incredibly warm, funny, and knowledgeable. Truly I hate leaving negative reviews, but when it comes to one's health or something as serious as seeing a NEUROLOGIST it's important. Quite frankly if you have to see one that means it something head/neck related.. meaning you are hoping to see someone that knows what they are talking about. I will say the scheduling was easy so 5 stars there, and the Dr. Ahed was very sweet, personable, and calm. But I see why scheduling is so easy because people are probably pulling back from here However, all of this goes out the window because I came to her with a referral and concerns and she kinda looked puzzled then check my balances and ordered a nerve test and MRI. Long story short, she gave no recommendations or even thought to the symptoms that I was experiencing. But still I was hopeful, I wish she would've explained what MRI she ordered because turns out the place I went to do didn't do the FULL order. Now she should've caught that when she received my results because the paperwork/results they sent over aren't consistent (luckily another nuero pointed it). Going over my results with her from the MRI/Nerve test she said oh everything's clear, there is no reason to come back to a Neuro ever (her exact words), and referred me to a ENT. I asked her if there's another round of testing like an X-ray, or bloodwork or anything to help get answers for me .. no response from her... my question is why not offer most testing or the slightest suggestion as to what I was experiencing or to create a trigger log or try some exercises something. (I was told by multiple people to get a second opinion and ENTs saying to go back to a different Neuro).. I wasted my money, and time going to this office 3 times...because I didn't get a single ounce of help or thought towards my problems. Luckily I found a new neurologist who suggested an EEG, bloodwork, x-ray, physical therapy/massages.. someone who actually gave me a treatment plan and idea of what thought I had. Honestly, it sucks that the health care providers we have don't truly care or research. You really have to be proactive with your own health, and always get a second opinion. moral of the story... don't come here, the ENTs & Neurologist I have went to since have all kinda chuckled once I told them I went here which is crazy. I had an issue with Dr. Hanna's staff. I scheduled a follow up phone call with Dr. Hannah on a Friday at 11:45 AM to go over some test results. On the day of the phone call, I received a call from one of her office employees at 12:32 PM, 45 minutes after our appointment was scheduled to start. The employee let me know Dr. Hannah was running late, collected my copay, and said the doctor would call me back. When I didn't receive a phone call, I called the office at 12:57 PM to see what was going on. They said the doctor was with another patient and would call me back later. I wrapped up my day at work and never received a phone call. When I got home, I checked my voice messages. They left a message saying that I would need to reschedule the appointment and pay a $70 no show fee. Apparently, they had been trying to call me, but the calls were not coming through due to a spotty signal at work (I was not aware). When I spoke to them, I asked why they didn't reach out via email if the calls were going straight to voice mail. They said they didn't do that (well... maybe they should). I asked why they took my copay, if I was a "no show." They said the appointment "starts" when I get on the phone with the doctor. I asked why the doctor was allowed to be late, they said the doctor has a one hour courtesy window for the *patient's* benefit. They refunded me the copay after I reached out to my insurance and I pestered them. However, they will not reschedule until I pay the $70 no show fee even though I answered the phone the first time they called, paid the copay, and it was the doctor who was running late. read more

Update: Dr. Hanna, after running those tests I mentioned in my first review and analyzing the results, dxd me with Simple Partial Epilepsy. I was totally shocked! Even months later, I'm still shocked' How could my previous neurologists miss that? And it means that I've been having partial seizures since at least 2016-2024 intermittently but also around the clock!! I had actually been on anti-seizure medication on and off for many years to treat other symptoms like neuropathy, so maybe that's why the partial seizures weren't noticeable until 2016. So anyway, Dr. Hanna Rxd lamotrigine twice a day, and I was able to discontinue gabapentin as well as the muscle relaxers!!! I now have better balance and I've been able to walk around the inside of my little apartment in a pair of stiletto heels that I had never been able to walk in before! I'm not sure I'm ready to wear them outside yet, but one thing at a time THANK YOU TO DR. HANNA AND HER STAFF!!!' read more

The one star is not because of the Doctor's competence or bedside manners. It's for ethics. After seeing this doctor I understand why are health insurance is so out of wack. It's not always the fault of the insurance company. I was prescribed a nerve test by my orthopaedic doctor for pinched nerves causing neck pains etc. and contacted Dr. Hanna's office because they are close to my orthopaedic's office. I was scheduled almost immediately, but when I went in, expecting to get the tests done, I was greeted by the doctor, with a hand shake, and a "nice to meet you" and then I was told I had to come back for the test. I thought it was odd since I already had a prescription. I was scheduled another two consequent visits, one physical, one over FaceTime. The physical visit took no more than 15 minutes. I made my copay and was told that I had a follow up over FaceTime. I didn't give it much thought at the time, and agreed. Doctor's follow up all the time. But what I didn't expect was that they asked for another co-pay of $30 before the call. The call was about 3-4 minutes. That was when I realized what was going on. For what normally would have been one visit, with one co-pay, I was scheduled three visits, each for a very short time, charged three times, and they billed the insurance company three times, each time hundreds of dollars. I have seen dozens of doctor's in my almost 60 years of life, but have never had any doctor do this. No doctor ever has charged for a follow up of a previous test. This office is basically committing fraud. I was appalled, and protested to the assistant, but he was unperturbed, apparently used to such protests. But they had achieved their goal of clawing as much money as possible from patients and insurance companies. To be clear, this doctor didn't give me the prescription, and she was not the doctor who ordered the test, but pretended I was there to see her, and that she herself had given me the prescription and diagnosis and charged me and the insurance three times when it should have been one. About a year ago we took my dad to see dr Hanna, she was rude and condescending and blamed my dad for having dementia.she said she saw him a year prior in the hospital and gave him medication and he never followed up, how can you follow up on an appointment you were never advised of or told he was seen by a neurologist?! Run away from this dr - my mom went for a nerve test with Dr. Hanna in late January after being referred by a hand specialist. Let's just say that the orthopedic surgeon who reviewed her diagnosis last week called it a "Mickey Mouse" assessment because my mom doesn't have what she claimed was cubital tunnel syndrome and would go away with PT and a brace. My mom, is now facing nerve damage because of her Hanna's incorrect diagnosis and recommendations of "just PT" and requires emergency surgery because she relied on this incompetency. We just had another Cedars Neurologist conduct a second nerve test today to verify and look at that, second doctor to tell us "idk what this doctor did but there's zero indication of cubital tunnel." You're playing with people's lives. If you can't diagnose correctly, you shouldn't be guessing. At least refer to another doctor who would have a better sense on the issue at hand vs a barely educated guess. Horrible. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

Although I left 5 stars for the office staff prior to the appointment, the appointment itself was disappointing to say the least. I sent in advance a detailed listing of existing conditions and symptoms. When we arrived, Dr. Hanna was very nice. However, she offered no testing, no clues and only offered medication for what diagnosis I don't know. We could have not been there more than 10 minutes. Clearly not the person to see if you have serious neurological issues. Thankfully we found a very caring, thorough and competent neurologist locally. Not saying Dr. Hanna would not be great for less complicated issue like headaches and such, but certainly not for severe neurological issues. I love Dr. Hanna. Earlier this year I had an unfortunate brain trauma that put me at St. Joes in a coma in the ICU. I wasn't happy with the neurologist the hospital gave me at all. Someone here mentioned that Dr. Hanna is a medicine pusher. I feel Dr. Hanna is anything but that. The neurologist I saw prior to Dr. Hanna absolutely was a medicine and prescription pusher, which was one of the reasons I left their office. From the very first appointment that I had with Dr. Hanna, I felt at ease and she is so incredibly caring. She takes the time to talk to you, she doesn't make you feel rushed or like she has to get to her next appointment. I also haven't ever had a long wait in the waiting room or have been in an over crowded waiting room. I've always had early morning appointments. The office staff I feel is kind, I also really like the person that they have in there that deals with insurance. Parking is take a ticket to park, they don't validate, but none of the offices there do validate. Or you can get there super early and try to get street parking. When it came time for my 6 month brain MRI Dr. Hanna's office made it so easy for me to get that scheduled and done and it was so relieving that my brain is in great shape. Through the whole experience I had wished that I had Dr. Hanna the entire time I went through my brain trauma, but I'm so glad that my primary care doctor recommended her to me when I felt it was time to make a switch. Completely useless and waste of time. I went into this office for facial drooping of my mouth and eye as well as seizure-like symptoms on june 30. When i saw Dr Hanna she requested an mri and I told her i was claustrophobic and because of the seizure like symptoms and panic attacks i needed to get an open mri. We scheduled a follow up for july 10. She referred me to an mri place with sedation so I arranged transportation etc. i get to the place (july 7) and their AC wasnt working and it was a closed MRI so i had to cancel and find another place. I called the office and they were no help and basically had the attitude of "we sent you somewhere and that didnt work so find it on your own" as though im a trained neurologist and know how to find these things. After telling them i need their help or im not doing the tests, one person finally helped me locate an open mri that does contrast. This process took so long i had to cancel the initial follow up appt that was scheduled for 3 days after the first visit i went to (on June 30). The open mri place (on july 23) wasnt able to do contrast because my veins werent taking so they said theyd send a note to dr hanna to contact me if i needed to come back. My facial drooping got worse and an additional symptom of burning skin started so i called dr hannas office to see if they had my results on aug 19 because i still hadnt heard from them with the MRI results. They scheduled a facetime appt today where dr hanna took no responsibility for her office not upholding any of their end of things (notifying they received results, scheduling follow up, sending test requests that the mri place never received). She proceeded to tell me she doesnt see any symptoms im talking about and that she didnt know what to say when she got the MRI report. She didnt believe me that the mri she sent me to wasnt open and the ac wasnt working and she charged me a copay for all of this; to tell me nothing except she didnt believe me. She kept saying "well i dont know about the AC." But i am telling her the place SAID their AC wasnt working; it wasnt my assessment. Doctors like her are the reason women are so commonly dismissed. This office accepts money from patients but offers no service, solutions, or care. This doctor is defensive and with her staffs inadequate skillset of making appointments and following up combined with her defensiveness and dismissiveness of symptoms, you basically pay for nothing other than stress and zero help. After all of this, her advice to me was that she doesnt think anything is wrong but if i do i should go to my primary. I couldve saved $500 in out of pocket mri costs and two $45 copays and just had my primary send me to the hospital for an MRI. She was happy to take my money but had a problem offering her care in return. Go to anyone but her. read more

I have a dangerously complex situation: a history of severe migraines, broken neck, removed artery, tumor removal and more. I became Dr. Hanna's patient a few years after my surgery and she's been so incredibly patient and supportive working with me to develop a treatment plan that works. Typically, when I get a migraine, it means I've lost the whole day and I can't go out. Yesterday is the first day that I woke up with a level-10 migraine, took the combination of medications Dr. Hanna prescribed, and by 4pm, I was actually able to get dressed and leave the house. In 2021, I was so desperate for help. I was 42, single mother, professional data marketing consultant for all our big studio clients. I woke one morning and I couldn't even recall simple info. I didn't know my name, what year it was, I panicked. I was dizzy and lost. My Dr. thought it may be a stroke and referred me. I wrote down everything happening to me. She didn't even read through it all. This woman called me a mental case and told me I needed a psychiatrist. She made me feel worse than almost anyone ever and at the very worst time of my life. She didn't even try to understand my physical symptoms and cognitive issues. She told me what I was experiencing was "humanly impossible". She was rude, impatient, and degrading. Lacking ethics and human decency. I had to leave my career. My life crashed from my cognitive issues that "I made up". I left her office in tears and felt hopeless. It's been 3 years and I still think about how badly she treated me. I was so fragile and scared and she made me think I was crazy YET I was not. I was begging for help. Absolutely Amazing, No one person has ever come close to improving my life like her. She listened, scheduled some tests, represcribed some medications I had been taking for decades, (dilantin is crap) added Lexapro instead of the Effexor I had taken for years (more bad stuff) and presto, chango, I am a new person, the old me I thought was long gone. I was diagnosed with migraine 20+ years ago and have had a dozen or so neurologists in that time. Without proper medication, i have around 20 migraine days a month. My last neurologist was alright but when I went to my podiatrist on the same floor as Dr Hanna, he told me his daughter has migraine and told me to check her out. I've never been happier. Not only has she supplied me with samples of preventatives and treatments, I feel like she understands how much having a migraine attack sucks. She's worked with my insurance to get Ajovy approved (which my last neurologist told me not to even bother with) and that's changed my life. After my first appointment with her, I went to my car and cried because she didn't just tell me to drink more water and send me on my way with a prescription for medication that we know doesn't work well. read more

Unfortunately, I had a poor experience with the front staff at Dr. Hanna's office. I had scheduled my appointment in March and I asked to be scheduled at 10am on a Friday as it was the only day I could ask off from work. I asked that they confirm the date of the appointment twice during the phone call and it was set. I had written it down immediately in my calendar. Now, they called me back to confirm my appointment on Thursday. I said there's a mistake as I scheduled it for Friday. The person I spoke to on the phone had an attitude and refused to acknowledge that the original person who took down my appointment wrote it wrong in the system and said I didn't ask for an appointment on Friday, despite having made the appointment back in March. If this is already how they act through the phone, it's hard to trust them in person. My 101 year old aunt has dementia and was a patient of Dr. Hanna's a few years ago. I need a capacity evaluation for a conservatorship so I can get her into assisted living. She won't leave the house and I called Dr. Hanna's office in a panic. They refused to give her a televisit because she's considered a new patient after not seeing her for 3 years. The office staff would not let me leave a message for the doctor to discuss the to possibly make an exception. They were cold, bitchy, unfeeling and inhumane. We're taking about a 101 year old woman who is dying and needs care and they turned me away. What happened to that physician's oath "do no harm." Well, they're harming my aunt. read more

My doctor back home wanted me to have an MRA and I didn't want to wait until I got home. Dr. Hanna ordered the MRA for me. I had a video appointment with her about the results. I have been seeing Dr. Hanna for years now she is a excellent dr. She takes interest in her patients, and has a very caring bedside manner. She actually takes the time to listen to you. Sylvia is as cold hearted and unsympathetic as a person can be. Here is what happened. I needed refill on my medication. Pharmacy said I needed to see Dr. Hanna. I called dr to get refill receptionist Keilani said I needed to have phone appointment with Dr Hanna before she would refill since it had been a while since I last saw her. Ok no problem. Then keilani tells me I have a no show balance of $50 that I have to pay BEFORE she can schedule any appointment for me they sent it to collections already. I'm like WHAT! I CANCELLED that appointment I had to take my 94 year old mom to dr. She lives 2 1/2 hours away. So I knew I couldn't make it. Yet Sylvia insisted I confirmed appointment. Then she insisted I pay or no appointment or refills. I said what am I supposed to not take my medication she said i dont know what to tell you. I asked to speak to Dr. Hanna and she said dr. Does not get involved in billing. But I said cant I just speak to her she said when I pay. So I went through my phone to look for the text they sent me regarding the appointment and my response that I was canceling. I texted it to them and called Sylvia back then she tells me oh you cant respond to that number. We confirm the appointment only by calling you. I said ok I never received a call. She said we called you never answered. EXACTLY! I was with my mom at her Dr's appointments. My mom comes 1st! To top this all off as we speak 3/2/2021 I have no medication for 1 week now, plus my 94 year old mom was rushed to ER and is now admitted to the hospital. I have so much on my plate right now. All I can say is Karma is a bitch! God guide me and be my Devine physician since I have no medication. By the way if you ask why dont I just pay to shut her up, I left all my credit cards etc at my house 3 hours away when I rushed over here. I've been a patient for almost five years and her office staff is as thoughtful and considerate as Dr. Hanna. Dr. Ahed Hanna is hands-down one of the warmest and nicest doctors you'll ever meet. Great bedside manner is an understatement. Ever since I was in my pre-teens, I have been suffering from chronic aura migraines, and up until now, nobody has ever truly understood my plight until I've met Dr. Hanna. Past doctors were quick to dismiss or prescribe medication that would work adversely against what I was actually going through. As a fellow migraine sufferer herself, Dr. Hanna knew exactly what I was dealing with, and how to conquer it. She's completely unpretentious, down-to-earth, and empathetic -- which are qualities a lot of doctors unfortunately lack. I'm unsure as to why they are all these negative reviews on her Yelp page as the front desk ladies have always been prompt, professional and helpful. I dont know about others experience with this doctor but I had a bad experience. My insurance is crazy so it took a long time to finally get a referral for a neurologist. Before my appt, I was suffering with a headache for 3 weeks so I wore sunglasses to my appt. Oh boy, this woman was not friendly when I met her for the first time. She looks and speaks to you like your crazy as if your making up symptoms you've had for years. Instead of being helpful she was rude and came off like you were asking her stupid questions. She speaks over you and cuts you off. Her staff on the other hand were friendly but no way in hell would I go back to her.
