Two independent orthopedic specialists at UCLA and USC Keck disagreed, explaining that the surgery was relatively common. I subsequently had the surgery successfully completed one day after receiving second opinions, since timely surgery was important. The incorrect information I received from a physician's assistant (not a doctor) at OSS delayed the needed surgery and could have had life-altering consequences. I will not return to OSS and would strongly recommend that patients facing serious orthopedic decisions avoid them/ always seek a second opinion.

On the day of the appointment, they say the appointment was never set even though the person who sets the appointments, Wendy, gave me her email and I emailed her all the information she requested. Apparently the doctor who evaluates the body part needed was not available that day even though she told me he was when setting the appointment and that this was actually the earliest he was available. She had over two weeks to reach out and let us know that she had made a mistake and it actually was not the right doctor. But instead, she took the appointment off the books and did not reach out at all. It is extremely unprofessional. The patient had been waiting over two weeks to be evaluated and we could have found another doctor who would actually have been able to complete the request had she not taken these actions.

I have never had to deal with a more unprofessional, least attentive and more UNSYMPATHETIC neurologist in my entire life. To sum it up - I had a very traumatic experience that led me to fall on my face, end up in the ER, end up with stitches in my forehead and a splint on my wrist. All due to medication that he provided me and no information on side effects before taking it. So... due to his lack of communication(which is a norm for him) on my way to the ER I called his office, no answer. Then called again to only have his front desk say we will relay your message. This happen 3 more times, which resulted in me calling 5 times, while I am in an emergency situation and my neurologist who knows of my epilepsy condition has still not returned my call. Finally the NEXT DAY, I call AGAIN and the front desk woman says oh yes, he should be calling you. I find out Dr. Scharf is on vacation. He has no on call doctor, no emergency line to reach out. Nothing. He says he will send my records over so I can get in to see someone. That didn't happen. I had to figure it out all on my own.
