I had my first appointment with Dr. Ravin Jain and I was totally impressed from the moment I walked into the office. The staff was quick , efficient and very polite and helpful. Dr.Jain had a bedtime manner of an angel. He listened with open ears, he was totally compassionate about all my surgeries and what i've been through, but most importantly , he was so carrying and detailed about my EMG test. Just easily the best neurologist I've ever had, and I've had several. For 12 years, I have suffered from a very complicated neurological condition that still has no official diagnosis, not even from him, but he has taken immense care to evaluate my symptoms in the context of their presentation and provide treatments that match. Over the last few months, I have left several messages with his office and within less than a day, each time, he has followed up with a video appointment to chart a new path forward. He takes his time in each of these appointments to hear my concerns and weigh my recommendations. Our relationship is consultantative, not dictatorial. I trust him completely. They keep taking down my 1 star review. He insisted that my neuropathy was caused by my crossing my legs. He refused to run any further tests. It was not. At this point, I have maybe a year until I'm wheelchair bound permanently. I honestly don't know if he listens to male patients any better, but he completely dismissed me. read more

Dr. Jain is known as a doctor's doctor - meaning they go to him. There is no neurologist finer than him, and I've seen my share. I consider myself lucky to have been his patient for the last ten years. I have a rare genetic neurological disease, and have had some difficult ordeals. Dr. Jain is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. He responds very quickly, and I feel 100% confident in his expertise and diagnosis. After being given a "fibromyalgia" diagnosis in 2016 because he couldn't seem to find anything else going on, I continued under his care because he seemed knowledgeable. - By 2018 I had progressed to using a walker/cane and had started falling over, having dizzy spells, losing time, and asked about getting an EEG for seizures, to which I was told, is unnecessary because he would "know" if I am having seizures. - 2019 I lose my health coverage and am permanently disabled, my new nuerologist does an EEG the first time asked - low and behold - abnormal transient lobe dysfunction from TIAs / Seizures. - Thanks for wasting the good years I had left Dr. Jain and assuming because I am a woman that my pain and confusion MUST be from "fibromyalgia." read more

Dr Jain has been my husband's doctor for about a year and half. We really like Dr Jain but are very unhappy with the office staff and assistants. They have been abrupt and rude every time we have been in there. If you don't mind being treated with disrespect by the front office then I recommend Dr Ravin Jain. He's a great guy. My 19 year old daughter was experiencing weakness, change in temp, numbness, & pain in her legs and arms. We took her to the ER where we spent over 9hours as they did blood work, CT of her brain, even an EKG. We are blessed to say tests where normal, but my heart was broken that she was sent home with the same symptoms and no answer as to what it could be. I was referred to Dr. Jain from that initial call his staff treated my daughter with compassion and he personally squeezed her in the next day. When we saw Dr. Jain that first visit he did a thorough neurological exam & immediately ordered an MRI, more extensive blood work, & prescribe my daughter the proper medication. His staff worked diligently on getting the MRI authorized and even scheduled the exam ASAP. Due to Dr. Jain & his staff my daughter has been diagnosed properly and is on the mend... for this I will forever be grateful. read more

Based on healthgrades reviews I assume Dr. Jain would have been great, but his reception offered me an appointment and then took it back - after I had already cancelled another appt (this one was sooner and it's an emergency), arranged for a car and child care during the offered appt time. I have NEVER seen this doctor, never heard of him or visited him yet someone from his office keeps making appointments for me on my behalf for office visits and imaging tests at Liberty Imaging in Encino. I don't know how unscrupulous you have to be to go out and make appointments with people who don't even know you exist but PATIENT BEWARE! This cannot be a great doctor's office if they're using deceitful methods to wrangle in patients. read more

Wife was referred by Dr. Jain to a hematologist. When she showed up to the appointment she was told no referral was sent over. She called Dr. Jain's office and was told they couldn't provide one that day, so she had to reschedule. No apology, nothing. Huge pain in the butt, and not the kind a doctor can fix. read more

Dr. Jain is very nice, knowledgeable, and spends plenty of time explaining everything to me. I'm a terrible patient, don't like to take my meds, and normally irritate my doctors but he's been very nice and understanding with me. Super helpful, short waiting time in office. I've been seeing Dr. Jain for about 6 months or so and I have to say - I love him! I think he's an amazing Dr! I started seeing him for migraines and he's been fabulous! Even at times when I felt completely hopeless - he was very encouraging and was determined that we would figure it out - and guess what? I've followed his treatment plan - and we have figured it out - I've gone from almost daily migraines to almost non-existent migraines - and I am eternally grateful to him. He has also seen my husband while he was in the hospital and I've found him to be extremely caring in all situations - so to those who have said he has a terrible bedside manner - perhaps you caught him on a bad day...I haven't found that to be the case at all. read more

I would not recommend this Doctor. My first visit he wanted me to do an MRI. My second visit he said my old MRI was worthless, he suggested it was done at an inferior place, he said the report was no good he needed to see the disk. So I never found out how much my MS had progressed .. saw him again last week . I wanted to try the new drug [MAVENCLAD]. He turned me down, He never told me why. I will look for a new neurologist. read more

I went to see this doctor seeking help after having been under the care of another neurologist that was severely negligent. In tears, I tried my best to explain my circumstance. After having a very brief conversation with this man, he abruptly told me he was leaving to put in the orders for my blood work and EEG. When he returned, he may as well have sucker punched me, as he told me that he had reported me to the DMV to have my license suspended. Not only is this physician a coward but totally untrustworthy. He didn't even bother to have an honest conversation with me about doing this and compounded my problems. I went to this physician for help and instead he hurt me far worse than I could ever have imagined. In my opinion, what he did was highly unethical, and although I know he was legally obligated to do this, he should have been forthright with me BEFORE taking action. I could NEVER trust a doctor that would be so low as to sneak around doing things behind my back and neither should you. DO NOT SEEK HELP FROM THIS MAN. He failed to keep his hippocratic oath with me and he will do the same to you. read more

Ravin Jain is a neurologist and his bedside manner is terrible. He is rude, condescending and cold. If you are feeling sensitive or having anxiety about the illness you are suffering from, DO NOT see this doctor. He will make you feel worse. He would not even let me speak. When I would try to tell him something, he would cut me off by speaking really loudly. He also rushed through my appointment. Everything he said was negative-- very doom and gloom. I posted on 2/27 favorably because of a visit with my husband FOR my husband. Now I have seen Dr. Jain for lifelong Restless Leg Syndrome. Still think he's terrific. Unfortunately I can't give Dr. Jain more than 1 star and really would give him 0 if I could. When I first went to him for migraines he didn't bother to check that birth control pills have an interaction with one of the medications he put me on. He just assumed all birth control pills are equal. Well I was on low hormone pills and in fact the medication he gave me makes the birth control much less effective and if you take low hormone pills it basically makes them null and void (thanks for the heads up dude). Luckily my pharmacist was on top of it (though they aren't always). I stuck with Dr. Jain even though his bedside manner is a bit stiffer and cold and he is VERY rushed but I don't need to have every doctor I go to to be sweet and soft. I figured everyone is allowed one slip up and when I talked to him about it he was genuinely surprised and thought they were all the same. Looking back now this seems even more irresponsible because one of the medications can cause birth defects if your pregnant. Really I should have walked away then, REALLY. After filling out the drug interaction paper work that his staff makes you fill out EVERY TIME you walk through the door he neglected to tell me that another medication I take for something all together interacts with a 2nd drug he prescribed. This particular drug does not interact with the drug he gave me of course but boy does it ever interact with one of the drugs that is on my drug interaction paper work (the one they make you fill out every single time you walk through the door). The interaction was one I could not ignore, DEATH? Are you kidding me? I had to find this out after double checking myself online. I didn't even bother to call to tell them I just found someone else and stopped going to him. Yes I understand that he's some big time guy at UCLA and maybe it's simply that for migraines go see someone with more time. If you have some big scary neurology problem then go to him I'm sure he'd be great and maybe even take more time to be thorough but I think it was simply a matter of being WAY too rushed and not bothering to double check things. read more
