My husband and I were referred to Dr.Jacobs as he was retiring. I made an appointment and we were seen in a timely manner, however we saw Rosario the doctor's physician assistant. She was extremely competent and spent a considerable amount of time with both of us obtaining our medical histories. She then reviewed all the information with Dr. Jacobs and the plan for labs, etc. were discussed with us. All questions answered and were very pleased. Our follow up appointments are also with Rosario, which is okay with us. I feel confident that if she has any concerns she will consult with Dr. Jacobs. The office staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. Very happy with medical staff. read more

One.. the office staff at front desk are rude n not helpful. To me, if you have a horrible Front Desk staff, I can't go to a doctor. I canceled once, was 8 minutes late on another appointment where they would not see me so I rescheduled n when I arrived they said they would not see me bc I canceled twice, no man, your office would not accommodate me being eight minutes despite me calling you letting you know I was gonna be late and you said it was fine. You wasted my time twice now. Now I see why you got very low reviews. There are tons of functional doctors out, keep looking if you want to be you time be respected. I paid 37 for an Uber, 30 for a babysitter n they never even had the decency to call me up and say don't come for an appointment because we will not see you because you supposedly canceled once and you were late once. completely blown away at the lack of courtesy, respect and professionalism of the office. We drove from Woodland Hills got a babysitter my friend who is chronically ill with lupus to see Dr. Jacobs. She had canceled twice because of her illness. She never knows if she can get up in the morning or not. Dr. Jacobs has been my primary care physician for about 12 years. Over that time he has helped me to drastically improve my health without the use of pharmaceutical medication or unneeded testing. In many cases, I've been the neurotic one and he has recommended just giving it a few days or weeks to see if a random pain or issues will go away. 10 out of 10 times he has been right. I took cholesterol medication for about seven years because my father told me that it should be in the drinking water. Dr. Jacobs helped me to fix my cholesterol numbers with diet and eventually stop taking the statin. He practices with a steady hand and a steady heart. I didn't look at yelp before choosing my doctor. I chose him based on my vibe and kept him based upon human to human experience. You will not regret doing the same. I know Dr. Jacobs for over 10 years. Main reason why I never considered even once another doctor is : 1. The amount of time and attention I received.   2. Dr. Jacobs competent and caring, giving me 45 minutes of undivided attention if I need even longer. Lets be hones most doctors will give you 10-15 if you are lucky. 3. Dr. Jacobs is very accommodating and very flexible (due to my crazy work schedule I never able to schedule appt. ahead of the time). 4. This is a late review of Dr. Jacobs whom I have seen at least 10 times or more in the past years. I was not the patient here myself, but I took both of my parents (whose English wasn't quite good enough to understand an American doctor) to see him when I first found his name/address online. When I first took my mother (after she was released from ER multiple times) to see Dr. Jacobs, he sat with us for over an hour trying to understand her medical history and the situation that she was in. He correctly diagnosed her and gave her the right treatment plan which made her recover that no other doctor was able to do. Same for my father, who had a serious health issue that we did not know, but Dr. Jacobs was able to identify and treat. We even sometimes wondered how Dr. Jacobs made money because he spent so much time with his patients. Sometimes his nurse and assistants went home and he stayed late to accommodate my father who used to work late in LA Downtown. We are so grateful for Dr. Jacobs' care and knowledge, and we've never encountered such compassionate, competent doctor ever since. Thank you, Dr. Jacobs, you are the best!! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Jacobs for nearly 5 years and I am now seeking out a new doctor. I recently had Covid and called his office to let him know, left a message with his office staff and I never heard back from him. He is preoccupied with doing clinical trials for his company, Unison. When I have appointments with him, I never actually see him, I see his nurse practitioner. The hours that he actually sees patients is very limited. He is supposed to be holistic in his approach, but does not seem to be very knowledgable. I hate to write a review like this because he is a very nice man, but he has fallen very short of what I would expect of a doctor who describes himself as a practitioner of "integrative medicine." read more

Awful experience! Avoid like the plague! The doctor did not consult me about which tests he was requesting. He requested unnecessary, expensive tests that were not covered by my insurance and insisted I pay out of pocket for his staff's negligence when it was found that they had improperly coded the test requests. His assistants were rude, did not assist with my issues, and even went so far as to tell me to contact the testing company myself to handle their error. They repeatedly did not return my calls or emails, even going so far as to hang up on me during a call. Terrible office. Corrupt and abusive practices. Detached and unhelpful staff. read more

Dr. Jacbos himself is a good Doctor but his staff needs to be replaced. They have you sign a black credit form so they can use it anytime to hold you hostage to pay whatever they deem appropriate. We have been going round and round and round in circles in reference to an ongoing insurance issue. This morning I received an email from them stating that if I don't pay them $500.00 in 12 days they will charge my credit card. This issue would of been resolved if they would just get off there you know whats and send in another claim to my insurance company. Also, when my wife called the office to make an appointment, my wife was greeted with an "hello" not Doctors office. completely dishonest and incompetent. on my desk next to me is a collections letter for about $600 due to inappropriately coded lab work and unneeded tests. I went to a new doctor with my old lab tests from Dr Jacobs (which really isn't dr Jacobs at all, you never actually see HIM, the man behind the curtain, just his staff. that's a whole other issue) and he was utterly shocked at 1, how frequently I was getting bloodwork done relative to the issues I had and 2, tests that were totally irrelevant! they just ran everything, never told me up front how much anything would cost (probably cuz they had no idea how to do the proper insurance filing, or just didnt give a crap) and then sent me a bill. On top of that they require you have a credit card on file before you're even seen, so when you spot the bogus charges that they cant undo, they steal it from you anyway. So.. yea, now im looking at a collections letter as if this is MY fault. Totally incompetent at best, at worst scumbag scammers out to get your money. Same thing happened with my wife. Previous patient here. He diagnosed me with "heart condition" which would scare anyone. Ordered several very expensive tests, which provided inconclusive results, and then overcharged the insurance company. Several months pass and then I'm handed a bill for the remaining amount? I love Dr. Jacobs. He is an excellent doctor. But I will never return because his staff's inablity to MAIL a bill to me. This has happen twice now. The first time, I thought it was a fluke. This time, its all on them. Why would you not contact a patient if they have an outstanding balance? Why was a bill never mailed to me? Instead I received one phone call this month about it. Within 2 days the money was withdrawn from my account. I was told by his staff that they would wait for me to give verbal permission. That never happened. I do not recommed this doctor. Doctor Jacobs is one of a kind doctor. I went to him for the first time a few years ago after going to multiple different doctors and since then I have convinced my whole family to only see him for all their needs. Even though we live 45 minutes away from his office the drive is definitely worth it. He is so kind and caring and he treats each patient as if they are his own family. I finally found a great MD who really listens to your issues, spends over an hour with you in a single visit. and genuinely concerned about his patients. I am not sure what the other reviewers have experienced but I have had a great experience with their staff especially Erin. They are very flexible about changing appointments as well. And if you are looking for a great Endo doctor - he's the one. He would prescribe Armour and T3 from a compounding pharmacy. Also will prescribe LDN if you ask for it. Dr. Jacob is the BEST doctor I've ever had. Unlike other medical professionals who are quick to prescribe you medication to treat your symptoms, Dr. Jacobs considers your overall health by taking the time to do a complete blood panel and assess why you might be experiencing your symptoms. For me, I had very low levels of Vitamin D causing my symptoms. Additionally, unlike other doctors, Dr. Jacobs takes your medical and family history verbally. None of those annoying lengthy forms to fill out. Don't get deterred by his credit card policy. It actually makes your life easier in the end. I haven't had any billing issues with this physician... also I think it is weird that someone would object to having a credit card on file or paying their bills before they are seen again. Doctors in this day and age get under-compensated for treatments by the government, insurance companies, and deadbeat patients as well. Anyway, he is very thorough and very smart. He is strong with traditional medicine but also is fairly well-versed in vitamin and mineral supplementation and alternative types of medicine. He went out of his way to call me and talk me through my test results and a new prescription. He also actually CALLED ME BACK when I was suffering a terrible headache for three days that wasn't responding to anti-inflammatory medicines or caffeine. I moved to Los Angeles from Arizona and needed a Primary Care Physician. I chose this doctor because he was close and could accommodate a quick appointment. Now I know why. He wanted a credit card on file in case my insurance didn't cover all procedures. I went with that, but then the receptionist informed me that I would have to pay $250 for the visit upfront. I have VERY expensive health insurance and proceeded to advise her that this visit was a well visit and under the Affordable Care Act was completely covered. She told me they would reimburse me after the insurance company paid them. I advised her that was why I had health insurance - to not pay the entire bill in advance. What a whore. I asked that the forms be returned to me and tore then up in front of her. Fortunately I have since located a legitimate health care professional who is not completely consumed by the mighty buck. read more

As a doctor, nothing special. However I noticed two charges on both visits for "Bevhav. Chng. Smoking", when I called the office, I was told it was a smoking counseling service $40.00 out of pocket each visit 9-10 minutes. WHAT COUNSELING?? Not to mention and additional $40.00 (NOT covered either) for "previous medical counseling" medical info? What kind of doctor does that. I already paid for the $300.00 OFFICE VISIT. FINALLY on my second visit, the front desk girl reeked of ALCOHOL. I get that people can do whatever, in their spare time...but when you run a "whole body health center" I think your front desk girl should not reek of booze and look that tired. All in all, ok doctor...but the billing was BS (that was an additional $120.00 out of pocket from me to total that up) above all. I WILL NOT RETURN. read more

This rating is only for their "policy" since I never saw the doctor. Friendly staff at desk, nice on phone, no issues with that. Therefore the 2 stars vs 1. However, they require a CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION for all patients. Wth? Who's heard of that before? Hell no. So you can charge me all these erroneous charges before I can say no? Then she proceeded to tell me they also collect a $250 deposit "towards my deductible". Okay so this is assuming I'm going to use $250 at your office. I simply went because I have a bad cold and need an antibiotic. Simple. My co-pay is $30. I'm not paying $280 to see a doctor to tell me to rest and drink fluids and give me an Rx. A depost? I found Dr. Jacobs and his staff to be pleasant and diligent during my visit, but their payment policy, handling of insurance, and patient billing is appalling. I came in for a basic wellness exam, which usually leads to no additional payment over my insurance, or a very small one (less than $50). They TRIPLE billed my insurance for the same services. I called their billing person, Toni, more than 5 times and left numerous messages and never received a response. They also ran a large number of tests that were not covered by my insurance without ever notifying me, much less asking for my consent. I received a bill for about $200. I called my insurance, who said they would send an adjustment and cover a bit more, and I notified the office of that, but they went ahead and billed my credit card (which they take in advance) anyways. So they didn't wait for an insurance adjustment, and they never responded to over 5 calls regarding triple billing me and my insurance. It's unfortunate, because I liked Dr. Jacobs and his staff in person, but it's not possible for me to trust his medical opinions when his financial practices are so short-sighted and shady. So enjoy your $200 for now, you lost a long-term patient. read more

Literally the worst office staff I have ever encountered. I read other reviews that said the same thing before seeing Dr. Jacobs, but I didn't care because I was going to see the doctor for his expertise and didn't think the staff would be much of a problem. I was very wrong. They failed to give me my test results time and time again, even when it was extremely important to my health (like the time they found three nodules on my thyroid and decided not to tell me). This medical neglect includes ultrasound results as well as blood work. Today I spoke with their staff six times trying to get the most recent blood work results that they confirmed they had, and each time I spoke with them, they promised me they'd send them to me within the hour. By the end of the day, they even had the gall to tell me that the doctor reviewed my results and thought I needed to see a specialist immediately, but then still forgot to send me the results that explained why. The office staff there literally gets in the way of basic medical care. Please save your time, money, and sanity and go anywhere else. read more

When I dare to conjure up my perfect doctor these are some of my criteria:1) a calm, pleasing waiting room, something with some design sensibility with a decent assortment of current issue magazines and with me ideally the only one waiting to see the doctor; 2) A friendly receptionist/nursing staff who won't treat you like a widget being installed in G.M.'s assembly line;3) a doctor who has checked his ego at the door and has an emotional i.q. that allows him to see his patients as partners, not passive observers who give away all their power to an Almighty Oz who expects you to worship his words as if delivered from the Sermon on the Mount. I want a doctor who values compassion and concern over the bottom line, is willing to spend the time with you until all your questions and issues have been thoroughly addressed and resolved. And for those who are fortunate to have health insurance, I want a doctor who takes all insurance and isn't hung up on terms of the your payment and won't harass you like a predatory collection agency going after a deadbeat dad Dr. Jacobs, a board certified internal medicine doctor who attended both UCLA as well as the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, takes an "integrative" approach to sickness and health believing that the state of mind is as much a factor in influencing one's own state of health. Nice. I came to Dr. Jacobs with an elderly mother who had been suffering from chronic ill health for five years. Her condition was extremely fragile and her prior personal physician was unable to tackle the complexity of my mom's situation. Dr.Jacobs didn't hesitate to jump right in, make changes to her medication and in times of crisis has been by her side far beyond the call-of-duty. My mom can be high-maintenance (fear and diva demands do not make a good mix when you are sick, just saying). He has done so with a high level of patience ,sensitivity, competence, honesty, compassion and integrity. Having him on board as my mom's personal physician has alleviated enormous stress on me knownig and trusting his judgments as my mom's primary care-giver. Dr. Jacobs is a young, next-generation doctor who I whole-heartedly endorse without reservations for patients of all ages, particularly younger patients who will appreciate his easy-going, youthful, professional but low-key style. read more
