This is a hard review and similar to another I read (which I completely agree with). First, I have been seeing Dr. Braunstein for years now and he's absolutely fantastic. He's seriously one of the best. The problem is he no longer accepts insurance. Actually, that's not completely true. He will bill insurance but only as an out-of-network provider for PPO plans. That in itself almost makes me give him one star. However, I actually spoke to him about it a few times and I understand why he is doing it (at least his side of the issue). It doesn't fix the issue where I can't use my insurance and I don't have the money to pay out of pocket. Nonetheless, if you can afford to pay out of pocket then he is a fantastic doctor. read more

I went to Dr. Braunstein only because he accepts my insurance. So I didn't know what to expect. So I want to relate my experience for anyone else who is considering seeing the excellent physician: Dr. Braunstein is the first doctor I've met who does not have a God complex. Instead he has a Hippocrates complex- in other words he's all about helping and healing you. He has a great disposition and spends an enormous amount of time with each patient, carefully listening (his assistant takes notes on an ipad so nothing is missed) and then examining and diagnosing. He is jovial and approachable and I didn't feel reticent about talking to him about anything. Oh, and he also diagnosed and cured my illness after several other doctors were unable to. I went to Mark Braunstein because my previous doctors could not help me. I was sick and tired of being in pain. At first I was very skeptical about seeing a new doctor, but then I found Doctor Braunstein. Doctor Braunstein is very friendly and funny person. You feel at ease with him right away. He is a true healer. He will spend as much time as necessary and run whatever tests necessary to figure out what's wrong. He does complete and thorough examinations. He listens to and answers all your questions. In addition to addressing the usual problems one would see a family doctor for, Doctor Braunstein also very knowledgeable in many other areas of medicine. As a matter of fact he prescribed a medication to heal my gastritis where as the GI doctor I saw didn't even mention this medication to me. Furthermore, he figured out what was bothering my shoulder and took care of it with one shot, where as the Sports Med Doc wouldn't even take an x-ray to see what was happening. I am so happy he is my doctor. With him in my corner, I feel I can tackle any medical problems coming my way. If I could give him more than five stars, believe me I would. read more

Fantastic doctor who gives extra attention to each of his patients. During my visit he took additional time to diagnose a problem that I had for two years and provided solutions for my disease that three other. MDs were unable to diagnose. He gives his cell phone number out and always gets right back to you when you text or call him. You can call him the day you are sick and he will make every effort to see you right away. Dr Braunstein does require cash or credit card for the visit but always submits your bill to your insurance company so that you may be reimbursed for your visit by the insurance company. read more

My name is Amber Walkov, I'm a former patient of Dr Braunstein, and he literally saved my life. I was 267 lbs when I first saw him in mid 2014, and he told me "you're going to be 140 lbs in a year" I thought he was crazy. I've been overweight since I was 5 years old. I accepted a long time ago that I was going to be fat for the rest of my life, and that's just the way it is. He prescribed me Phentermine and Topamax, and for the first time in my life, I lost weight. He monitored me closely (he insisted I come back and see him every two weeks to a month), and he did something no doctor, or person in general, had ever done. He not only BELIEVED I could lose weight, he HELPED ME DO IT. I lost 80 lbs on phentermine and topamax. Even though it didn't end up being a long term solution (I had weight loss surgery one week ago today), I would never be where I am today, or 50 years from now, without Dr Braunstein. He started me on the path, made me think "maybe I can be a healthy weight", and I know because he did, I will live a much longer, healthier, and HAPPIER life, because of him. Geez, the people in this office are so rude. Ask them a question why they didn't do something that was asked of them and they get defensive and threaten to not take care of your situation (or do it in a timely manner). Was literally told "You don't want to get into it with me" by their receptionist when I'm just asking what's going on. They're immediately hostile about doing their job. Finally told by angry receptionist that she will try and take care of my situation today, but I'm not feeling great about that happening. Their primary focus does NOT seem to be their patients. If they can't get my info over to my new doctor by tomorrow night, I'm filing an official complaint with the medical board. This is just ridiculous. read more

Dr. Braunstein also came highly recommended to me. I agree with most of these other review's as to how thorough the Dr. was on my physical. He had me get extensive blood work, and X-rays to follow. After 2 weeks I became concerned that I hadn't heard back about my results. A month went by, I called again & again, and was assured I'd get a call back from the Doctor. It has now been 6 weeks, and 19 calls later, and I can't seem to get past the receptionist. The stress of not knowing is causing me unbelievable Anxiety, and terrible Insomnia. I don't live in the area, and can't simply swing by in person. No follow up appointment was ever scheduled and the office has blatently refused my follow up calls. I have never left a yelp review about anything prior to this. As a first time patient, I too was excited about a Doctor who appears to care, but now am convinced he is more of the same, typical $ driven Doctor we have become far too complacent with. He offered his a la cart service for a (not so smal) fee, during my visit, and because I showed no interest in added fee's, I NOW believe he placed me on a shelf of low priority patients. I am infuriated how poor the service has proven to be... This problem can very easily be rectified by his office, so why hasn't it? Now my phone number seems to be blocked by this office and my calls consistantly go straight to voice mail. All I want are my results, WHY IS THIS A PROBLEM?? I feel like a number, and not a person.
