Admittedly, I have been taking a, now popular, diet solution from an illegal source; whatever, sue me. Many celebrities have been doing it and claiming it was 'exericse and diet'- survey says "LIAR". I was desperate to lose a stubborn 5 pounds. After a month of taking the above, I finally decided I should likely be monitored by an actual DOCTOR and hence, came back to Dr. Sheybani Im Obsessed with my Dr so much. He didnt judge me for my actions above but was obviously concerned. His bed side manner is so genuine and I never feel like a number. He will take as much time as needed to cover all concerns. Dr Sheybani actually has curated a weight loss program that is B12 + MIC; its amazing! He took time to explain the process (weekly shot + meeting with dr 1x a month to monitor) I immediately signed up. I know I will be in good hands and will eventually meet my ideal weight goal with the advise of a PROGESSIONAL dr versus some chick selling injections from her mansion with no medical degree :-/ Def reach out to Dr. if you want to reset your eating habits, diet goals etc this year. read more

Dr. Ali Sherbani thinks he's an important man. He is a laughing stock. A joke. He's nothing! He has no brains, no ability. His ex-patients are laughing out of fear, not because he's funny, but because his unorthodox approach and recommendations are so outlandishly dangerous Dr. Sheybani just doesn't make any medical sense. I have several audio recordings of each and every individual appointment I had with this doctor to backup my claim. Audio doesn't lie, but Dr. Sheybani does. From day one it was nothing but lies, after lies, after bad advice, after more bad advice. He sent me to three different independent orthopedic surgeons, disregarding their orders that surgery was not an option. Even then, he continued to shop me around to additional orthopedic surgeon until he would be able to find one who would accept his recommendation for surgery. When I asked Dr. Sheybani about one particular orthopedic surgeon he sent me to, a Dr. Jonathan Botts at the Los Angeles Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Sheybani told me, and I quote, " Dr. Botts is the worst orthopedic surgeon in his Network. I don't recommend him, he's a terrible surgeon and has no experience. End quote." Also on audio recording as well. Now to mention the pain medication NIGHTMARE the doctor has me on is causing opioid induced hypersensitivity to my injury. Causing a state of uncertainty, delay, and stagnation. Finally, after going through all my audio evidence, I just couldn't take it any longer. I had to let Dr. Sheybani go as my primary care physician. Giving Dr. Sheybani the boot before he could do any additional harm to my mental and physical health. When I went fourth firing this doctor for incompetence and the many lies I've caught him in on audio recording, all I had to show for was a opioid dependency to pills. Now, I'm going through severe opioid withdrawals, and his arrogant attitude towards my concern for my well-being is the only thing I've gained from Joy Medical. Dr. Sheybani is a total ass hole. Bella's always grouchy in a bad mood. I found her very unpleasant. She likes to slam the phone down in your face. I hope she doesn't treat senior citizens with such aggressive intention, she's mean. Unprofessional, disrespectful, down mouthing whippersnapper, rude personality. Probably because the doctor has his Joy Medical team on drugs, pharmaceuticals. Crystal told me she was on Adderall, which I have on audio recording. Get a good look at their eyes, even the doctor, you can see it in their fully dilated pupils. Actually, Joy Medical would be perfect for drug seeking behavior patients who are looking to get high. Go see Dr. Sheybani he'll hook you up. He might even turn you into a junkie! read more

Unfortunately, we were never able to get past the scheduling staff to even book a first appointment for my mom with Dr. Sheybani. She had already been assigned to him, and her insurance plan was active. I called the office three days in a row and left messages. When I finally reached a staff member, she very quickly checked the insurance portal and told me she could not find my mom's name. I had just gotten off the phone with the insurance company, who confirmed that my mom was in the system and assigned to Dr. Sheybani. When I tried to explain this, the staff member repeatedly gave the same response and did not make any additional effort to re-check or search more thoroughly. She then told me that the doctor was not accepting new patients--despite the fact that he is listed by the insurance as a provider who is accepting new patients. Because of this contradiction, I went in person to the public office to clarify what was happening. There, I confirmed again that my mom is in the system and that Dr. Sheybani is indeed her assigned doctor. I am a healthcare service provider myself, and I understand how critical respectful communication and client relations are in a medical setting. Regardless of how skilled a physician may be, the front office staff are the first point of contact--and they represent the practice. This is a medical office, not a retail store; patients are often worried, unwell, or caring for vulnerable loved ones. The dismissive and unhelpful attitude we encountered suggests that the staff would greatly benefit from additional training in professionalism, empathy, and problem-solving. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Sheybani and his staff at Joy Medical for many years now. Dr. Sheybani is one of the only remaining doctors that I have come across that actually spends time with each patient, and actually listens. These days, it seems like doctors just are able to see you and speak with you for a few minutes, perhaps it is because of what insurance has done to healthcare, but Dr. Sheybani is different. He has a really great understanding of the entire body, ranging from a simple cold up until much more specialized areas of concern like diet, cardiac, and many others. he wants you to be healthy and thrive. The staff and doctor let my blood test sit around too long and lets all the vials of my blood go to waste. And they didn't make sure to get my sample to the diagnostics lab, after witnessing how unpleasant it is for me. You'd think they'd remember to get it sent out, as to not put me through that again? I almost passed out they didn't even ask me if I'm feeling better or anything after walking back inside after getting fresh air. They say quest labs didn't make it inside to pick up. Does nobody in the office have a car to drop it off themselves? Honest to god question. How do you take no responsibility for your negligence and laziness? My blood sample is worthless and disposable and not worth a drop off for your staff? They go on to excuse themselves and take no responsibility for the issue. There is a quest labs down the street where the could have dropped it off at, if they cared. Besides this issue: I almost fainted and threw up and they literally said nothing. Not even a "you feeling better?'. You good to drive? Which is fine, but just goes to show how little they care about you. Not there for patient comfort or quality of life. read more

He is always available by telephone or in person, and I inevitably feel more confident and better informed after we've spoken. Everything is better. At Joy Medical I have had Dr. Sheybani at Joy Medical as my primary care physician for almost a year and I can say I without a doubt I feel very fortunate to have found him when numerous, troubling health issues caused me to move back to Los Angeles in search of a doctor like him. With Dr. Sheybani's patience and under his wide-ranging, adroit medical expertise I have successfully lowered my Ac1 from a point away to full Type 2 diabetes to normal (!) and found a way to control the painful neuropathy and gout in my feet that has prevented me from being able to exercise much. Now, together, we are tackling my weight and reversing my insulin resistance - I feel confident I'll achieve those difficult health goal, too! Other perks of visiting his office are: I never have a problem getting an appointment when I need one. If there ever is an issue with a stray fax, RX re-do, or need to appeal insurance, they immediately work to resolve it. Hi, I'm back for another review of this same location and unfortunately this time around I have removed another star. It seems that since my previous visit and my current experience, nothing has changed with the front desk staff or the way this office is run. I have been waiting almost 2 weeks for a prescription to be acknowledged and given prior authorization to the pharmacy so that it can be filled. I called to check several times and each time the doctors office told me they would call me back and never did. As of yesterday, the pharmacy still has not heard about the prior authorization and nobody there can tell me what the doctor is actually wanting me to take anymore because changes were called in but I as the patient was never notified. Their communication skills are incredibly poor. I definitely feel as though I am incredibly under valued as a patient at Joy medical, and I will be seeking primary care from another physician. I would only recommend this office if you feel like having to chase down your own appointments and keep everybody in their "professional" office accountable by being the middleperson between your pharmacy and the doctors office yourself. Dr Sheybani is fantastic. He did my pre op clearance on two occasions. I love working with him and his clinic. Everything goes so smoothly and perfectly ever time. Labs are available super fast. I emailed the office for my lab results and got them ~48 hours after my visit. Dr Sheybani has great bed side manner and is a great pcp. the parking is incredibly convenient. I'm hooked. I initially wanted to go to one of the larger clinics associated with UCLA across the street, but I'm so glad I didn't. Getting appts here is so much easier and faster. His office is always filled with the most amazing and helpful employees. The woman at his front desk (she has been there for years) is so accommodating, kind, and supportive. My review is only about front desk or whoever deals with faxing orders and paperwork to the lab. My review IS NOT about the Doctor. The front desk never sends requests to the lab. It is repetitive situation for my family. My lab orders are never sent to the lab before my appointment. I call and ask in person, I leave voice message with no result. I end up going to the lab on the day of my appointment and ask them to call the office. This extremely messes up my work schedule, plus it does show to me the professional side of the Doctor's office. read more

This doctor tried to illegally discharge me because I questioned the lack of support for referring me to specialists I was getting and the lies I was being told about it. This doctor claimed Medical would refuse an MRI but he had "a friend that could do it for a reduced rate in cash. This is unethical much less illegal practices. He refused service 3 times, once after an ER visit for high blood pressure, I kept him as my PCP to report him to the medical board for years, never being able to access care. Regal and Healthnet never held him accountable. His negative reviews reflected similar complaints. I had no choice but to return to him to be referred out for an MRI after a previous insurance claim MRI showed an issue in my brain. I have since been able to return to my previous amazing PCP Dr. Lavian. He once again takes my insurance. I will never recommend Ali Sheybani and his shady business/ medical practices. He should be ashamed of what he put me through. He did not treat me with dignity or respect. He tried to take advantage of my low income status at the time. He brought on going stress for years. I visited this Dr. I do not recommend him. Its easy to get an appointment but there is no follow through or follow up. Dr Sheybani does not return his phone calls or messages. I'm a long time patient of Dr. Sheybai, and was exposed directly to covid by a family member so called my doctor for a test. Made an appointment no problem. What was not shared is that even though my insurance covers testing, Dr. Sheybani has chosen to not accept insurance for covid 19 testing and charges patients $120. There are many places that offer free testing, so just be aware that your doctor may not take insurance for covid testing and may not be free. And if you need multiple tests, that will add up quickly. read more

I visited Dr. Sheybani for a regular check-up. The company that I work for allows a check-up once a year free of charge. That said, I was in the process of looking for a new PCP. I started out by searching within my healthcare provided list of doctors. I admit Dr. Sheybani was not my fist choice. However, after going through the list I started to notice that although he seemed like a newer doctor his marks within my search were similar to a tenured physician. I then searched yelp and found that he had similar marks here as well. So I scheduled a visit. My health care provider, unfortunately, had a different address for Dr. Sheybani, so when I attempted to locate his office I was in the wrong building. Not letting this ruin my experience, i called his office, they clarified their address (the address that Yelp has). I was able to arrive on time for my appointment. I filled-out the standard paperwork and saw Dr. Sheybani shortly after. The office was clean and the staff was personable. They had some cool music and seemed to me at least it appealed to younger people (I fit that category). The visit was pleasant. Dr. Sheybani listened to my concerns and made suggestions. I'm afraid to give Dr. Sheybani too good of a review...I want to keep him all to myself. My previous internist changed to a concierge practice and with a family of four (two still in college), we couldn't afford the annual fees. So I hunted and researched and hunted some more. I finally whittled down my choices to two doctors and planned to make appointments to see both. First, I went to Dr. Sheybani and haven't bothered to look any further. Doctor S is friendly, listens very well, doesn't rush me and, very importantly, treats me like an adult -- no scolding or condescending lectures, just recommendations with clear explanations. The office is really clean (I mean REALLY clean). The office staff is terrific - never rushed or rude, even when the office is really busy. I hope Vanessa never goes anywhere (or at least waits until I'm underground and don't need a doctor anymore). Having an excellent staff that is efficient and pleasant is important to me. So, I've found a great internist and am just hoping that he doesn't convert to a concierge practice any time soon. At a minimum, I hope he waits until my kids are out of college... read more

I saw Dr. Sheybani a few months ago even though I had to wait 6 weeks to get a date on his calendar. I enjoyed my meeting with him and found him attentive and knowledgeable. I called today for another appointment and was told I couldn't be seen for another month. When I mentioned that he seems extremely booked up, the assistant told me he only sees HMO patients on Wednesdays and so they're booked up very quickly. I guess he has the discretion to do what he pleases but it made this patient feel like a second class citizen. I will look for another PCP who puts care first. read more

Let me first say that I have horrible HMO Insurance and all the doctors in their network go from bad to horrible. I spent a week looking through all the reviews on yelp. I finally found Dr. Sheybani on the third try and I truly found a gem. Not only is Dr. Sheybani extremely professional but he is a gentleman. He's an amazing diagnostician, he has a warm bed-side manner and he never makes you feel rushed. No matter what your concerns, he listens very carefully and addresses every one of them. He is not an alarmist. I tend to be intimidated by doctors but I never felt that way with him. I adore him as an internist. I truly feel well cared for. His staff, Lilly and Maria are the best. They are polite, efficient and professional. They are in new offices on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. The office is large, very clean and has great parking (free!) Dr. Sheybani is a wonderful doctor. He is very good at what he does, he takes his time and gets to know you as a whole person, and genuinely cares. He has a wonderful and calm bedside manner. The first time I met him he sat down and wanted my history, then asked when the last time I went to the dermatologist was (as I had melanoma in my family.) It had been a while. He set me up for a dermatologist appointment. They found a suspicious mole that needed to be taken off, and it turned out to be problematic so they actually had me come back to make sure they got it all. Then I was going out of town for the summer, but was feeling like something wasn't right, and I couldn't really say what it was... I was a healthy and active 44 year old. He got me into the office the next day. Long story short... he stayed in communication with me and ended up strongly recommending I come back to LA for a CT scan. Turned out I had stage 4 lymphoma. He was so supportive when he told me, and said not to worry and told me it's one of the most treatable forms of cancer. I am now in remission. Sadly, to get the oncologist I needed I had to change Medical Groups and can no longer have Dr. Sheybani as my doctor, but in the meantime I referred my father and a friend, and I would go back to him in a second, and hope to do so. (And when I made the switch he emailed me all my medical records so I could have them without hunting everything down. Really above and beyond. ) I truly can't recommend him enough. I agree with all the 5 star reviews here, and the random few 1 star reviews seem odd and seem to be people who are blaming him for insurance issues or for things that don't have to do with him as a doctor. read more

I was recommended to Dr. Sheybani from my old PCP Dr. Cashdan who I really loved. Dr. Sheybani had a lot to live up to if he was going to compete with her LOL. He was great! Easy availability to book an annual exam - I was shocked since so many doctors take months to accept new patients. His office is beautiful and located in a place in Sherman Oaks with plenty of street parking (hey that's important in LA). His front desk staff was very nice and super accommodating, I must've changed my first appointment three times! I was in and out in under an hour. My favorite thing is that while I was waiting to see the doctor, the front desk staff had already sent me a link to log-in to my new Patient Portal.
