Best personality ever! Hilarious! I like Jacky went to him with a health concern and he put me right at ease. He made me feel super comfortable and took the time to listen. He'll joke with you and treat you like a friend and not just like a patient. If you want a doctor who knows what he's talking about and has the best bedside manner then go to Malamed! read more

I was a patient of Dr. Malamed's for over 20 years. I followed him from Sherman Oaks to Encino. I always thought Dr. Malamed was a wonderful, caring thorough Dr. Last Year he decided to go Concierge. I could not see spending $4000 a year for my husband and I when, in general we only go into the office once a year. While I understand his desire to reduce his workload, I was very disappointed that what I thought was a long time caring Dr./Patient Relationship meant so little to him. Needless to say I am very disappointed. If you want a great Dr that only pretends to care, he is your guy. read more

Best doctor I've ever gone to in LA. Thorough. Forthcoming. Hilarious. Caring. Killer Bedside Manner. If you have concerns, he'll take time to listen to them...he provides insight and calls with results as soon as he has them. He is a lovely person...I went to him with a health concern and was so scared...but his positive attitude set my mind at ease instantly. Nowadays, so many doctors think that a good education trumps a good bedside manner. BOTH are important! Dr. Malamed, you are amazing. Although I don't want to see you (because that means I am sick), I won't dread going to the doctor anymore...:) Cons...PARKING at this office does SUCK unless you want to pay a ton of money to valet. Ugh. read more

Hard to rate... Love Malamed, hate his conceierge practice, very upset he was unable to offer patients an alternative doctor other then a referral out to another doctor if you don't want to go concierge. read more

Dr. Michael Malamed is wonderful. He is the funniest and most easy to talk to doctor ever. He gives you his undivided attention and never makes you feel like he is in a rush and too busy for your questions. I used to go to him when he was on Van Nuys, blvd. Becase I live so far, I stopped going to him and went to a physician closer to me. That was a big mistake. I can honestly say it's worth the drive to go do a good physician and staff that is always reliable. Happy to be back! read more

Dr. Malamed is wonderful, caring doctor who really takes a personal interest in my health. Also, he has a very funny sense of humor that is perfect for my personality. I trust him implicitly, and always enjoy our time together. I also wanted to add that being able to email him and get a response fairly quickly is just another plus. read more

Malamed is a straight shooter. He is funny, personable, knowledgeable, down to earth and God Dammit... people like him. Myself included. He has been my doctor of choice for two years now, and I have no intention of seeking anyone else other than the doctors he recommends when he knows that someone else is more knowledgeable than himself. Great guy, and I can't recommend him enough. read more

I also used to go to Malamed and his partner Dr. Grossman when they were in Sherman Oaks. I had to switch to my then company's HMO for financial reasons and went elsewhere. Then they moved to Tarzana and that was across the Valley from my job at the Rodent. I'm about to go back to him now that I have a PPO again. However this is what is the best about Dr. Malamed. My elderly mother was his patient before me. I had someone in Hollywood back then and my mom wasn't elderly yet. So due to some stupid insurance glitch my mom was not allowed to see Dr. Malamed and a nephrologist at the same time. They refused to pay for Malamed and he treated her for nothing for a while. FWD 5 years later, my mom is in the hospital for a GI issue. They totally gave her the run around. I've been calling her primary care nephrologist for days. I called him 3 times today - nada. I called Dr. Malamed who has no responsibility to us at least not until my insurance kicks in and he returned my call in 5 minutes. Literally. I left the message made an appointment and started to call the hospital to check on my mom. I had to hang up on the hospital because Dr. Malamed was calling my cell. Even if he can do nothing for my mom due to evil insurance glitches he promised he would look into it. How is that for service? I decided to move up my appointment and not wait for insurance. How much can he charge? OK I know it can be a lot but it will be worth it just to see him again and get rid of my perma-cold. This time I will stick with him even if I move to the OC (may that never happen). I know the parking there is horrid my OB/GYN was in that building but somethings and some people are worth it. ETA 10-15-13: @MJ I'm not sure about this concierge thing either. It's because of Obamacare. I was expecting things like this to happen with most good doctors just not so soon. I was going to pay it, I told him I would but I decided to pay my car off instead - that was more than $1800. I'm still young and healthy, if I'm going to pay for concierge medicine now, I'm going to spend the fee for my 80 year old mom. We'll see how I feel next year. I may change my mind once I see what's out there. I absolutely hate Lakeside Medical in Studio City/NH. They treat you like an HMO patient even if you have a PPO. I'm leaving the 5 stars based on my opinion of Dr. Malamed's skill set. I'm just worried that the maxim "you get what you pay for" not only applies to shoes but to doctors. read more

Dr. Malamed is very kind and thorough. Although some people seem to dislike the concierge program, it does allow patients to have expanded access to him as well as longer visits in the office. Dr. Malamed is totally worth it and I would recommend him to anyone. read more

I started seeing Dr Malamed last year after being with the same doctor for 18 years. He is wonderful, caring, smart, funny and above all a true professional. I did agree to pay the fee for the concierge service as I don't like the anxiety of finding a new doctor. So far I have not been sick, but feel comfortable knowing he is available 24/7. I emailed him last night asking for a referral for a specialist and he emailed me back immediately.... How is that for service! read more

I have known Dr. Malamed for 6 years now. He is one of the most caring physicians I know. He is a wise and knowledgable professional with a great attitude ... and very funny!!! His staff is very polite and friendly. Even though visiting the doctor/healthcare provider is not a fun thing, I always leave that office with a good feeling and a positive experience. read more

Hands down, best doctor I've ever had. Impeccably credentialed - truly world class - yet warm and funny with a terrific bedside manner. His staff is great - they'll do everything they can to get you seen quickly - and they share his commitment to really excellent patient service. MM also has a lot of lab facilities on site, so you don't have to run all over town. If you're looking for a new MD in LA (regardless of what part of town you live) he's your guy. I've recommended him to a half dozen friends and they've all been impressed. There's a reason all of these reviews are positive - MM really is that good. read more

Dr. Malamed was wonderful to me. He was compassionate and kind. I can't imagine a more caring Dr. He was funny too, and talked to me in a very down to earth manner. Unfortunately, I had to quit going to him as my insurance changed to Kaiser. There will never be another Dr. Malamed if I can ever change back to him I will. Dr. Malamed always seemed to care. read more

Dr. Malamed's office doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to billing. They don't bill you correctly, and when you get upset they automatically send your bill to corrections. Be careful if you're going to his office because you will have nothing but issues. He also improperly ordered various tests that were not covered under my wellness physical and never notified me until I received the bill for it. read more

I had a MRI ordered by Dr. M. for a Monday and he didn't call me back about it until the following week even though he had the results that Thursday. I was in pain at 83years of age. He apologized the following Monday, though I called him. He suggested I go to physical therapy which I did then a whole week went by and he never called to see how I was doing. This is a doctor I paid $1800. to as a concierge and that's the "NO SERVICE" I got. I quit. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Malamed for more than 15 years. Then the almighty dollar became more important than his patients and he went to concierge service. Which I believe costs $1500 a year. You still have your co-pays and everything else this $1500 a year is just for the privilege of seeing him. If you want a really good doctor I suggest you don't go to Dr. Malamed who cares much more for the almighty dollar then he does his patients. You should have seen the letter I received from him after 15 years of being a patient telling me basically that I was no longer welcome at the practice and effective immediately I am no longer a patient of his and find another doctor. If you're looking for a Doctor Who cares more about the money than his patients then certainly this is the doctor for you. Oh, make sure you are willing to pay $1500 a year for the privilege of seeing him. read more

I was looking for an Internist and found Dr. Michael Malamed through this site. I have seen him twice now, including for a complete physical. He is personable, knowledgable and not rushed. I feel very comfortable with him and and so happy to have found a really great Physician. Office staff is very nice as well. That is very important to me as well. Thank you, Dr. Malamed! read more

Dr. Malamed is an excellent doctor. My wife and I feel extremely lucky to have been referred to Dr. Malamed. His bedside manner is perfect because he is funny and really cares about us as human beings. He respects our time and listens attentively to our concerns. We could not have wished for a better doctor! read more

Both my father and I are patients of Dr Melamed for the last 2 years. He is the finest, kindest, most thorough doctor I have ever known. I want to make sure and say this again. He is one of the best MD's you will find. HOWEVER, you must understand that he is part of the new practice of concierge medicine. Now people have different feelings about this practice, and I understand how some may think that there is some "he's thinks he's more important than others" aspect to concierge medicine. But the fact is he is a fantastic doctor and, like all of us, has the right to approach his profession any way he sees fit. Concierge medicine is a fairly new business practice and a viable way for doctors to limit their practice size and therefore be more available to their patients. I have to say that for me, the concierge medicine thing is unlike anything I've ever known. I call in the morning and they see me that day. There is NEVER any wait. The physicals last 2 hours. I have access to Dr. Melamed 24/7. I've never felt so taken care of by a doctor, so much so that i've recommended others to him. There are a few bitter reviews on this website, mostly from patients such as John F., E.R., and Julie L. who cannot or will not abide the concierge thing and that is unfortunate. It doesn't make Dr. Melamed and less of a fantastic physician or good guy. When I was younger, I couldn't afford a luxury car. But now that I can I drive one. This is life. Also there is a review from Joanne A., who from the wording knows nothing about this lovely man, otherwise she would have known why he was slow in calling her with results at that time. read more
