Never had such a horrible experience at a medical facility. I called and made an appointment as a new patient with Dr. Silverstein. I got to my appointment on time, filled out all of the paperwork and waited in the patient's room. After about an hour total, I was told that I'd be seen by a nurse practitioner instead of Dr. Silverstein. I was so angry and asked that I would be seen by the Dr. per my request upon making my appointment and they told me he was too busy. Absolutely no respect for other people's time and effort. I go out of my way to make it happen on my end to show up to my appointment on time, with my busy schedule, and they have the audacity to tell me that I can't be seen with the Dr. on my first visit with him? Not a good experience. Definitely won't be going back. There are tons of other doctors in the area. Save your time for an office and Dr. that will value it. read more

I want to give a huge "SHOUT OUT" to Dr Laurence Silverstein and several of the other professionals in his office. All of sudden on Thursday June 29 around 2pm I started experiencing severe abdominal pain and called Dr Silverstein's office. Notwithstanding the fact they were swamped and had no available appointments they told me to come in and would take care of me. I was and am extremely impressed with Nurse practitioner Mary and Nurse Adriana. They did a great job!! Additionally, front office personnel Angela was very calming and professional and went out of her way to get me an appointment--thank you Angela! They all worked in tandem to get me the urgent and outstanding medical care in an emergency situation. I was prescribed medicine that evening which never would have occurred but for their excellent efforts. OK, no one likes going to the Doctor office. But going to see Nurse Debra is a great experience, she is much more patient than any doctor I have been to, she listens, asks questions, is concerned and very thorough. Her exams are efficient and best of all she takes the time to EXPLAIN what is going with your body. I have been coming to his office for a few years now and never had to wait more than 10 minutes, which says a lot for a doctors office. I have yet to meet Dr. Silverstein but hopefully he will read my review and know what a GEM he has in Nurse Debra caring for his patients. I've been a patient for about 12 years now. I've been treating with NP Debra during this time with the exception of surgical clearance done by Dr. Silverstein since it was requested by the surgeon. I've never had a long wait in the waiting room. The front office staff changes & right now are all pretty friendly. I'll keep going back. read more

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Silverstein for 18 years. He is an excellent diagnostician and I credit him for saving my life and my son's life. It has become increasingly difficult to get an appointment with him. He even has recommended to use urgent care. On Dr. Silverstein's staff is nurse practitioner Debra Zweifel-Poehmann. We now see her because she is much more available. I called for an appointment on Monday and she saw me that day for my problem. She listened, cared, asked the correct questions and prescribed for me the right treatment. My husband saw her last week. She spent an incredible amount of time with him and even made several calls to other doctors to help clarify some ongoing problems after his surgery. Debra is truly all about patient care. I was scared to come here at first because of all of the negative reviews on the Debra. I however, loved her! She was beyond nice. This is my first adult doctors appointment (one where i did not make my mum come with me) and she was extremely sweet, while making me feel very comfortable. I called on a Monday and was able to be seen as a new patient on Thursday! That's beyond fast for a non-emergency new patient. This office has a great doctor team (I see his associate Dr. Lebovich and my relative sees nurse practitioner Debra). The doctors take the time for questions and answers during the office visits. Also, the staff there are very responsive and are excellent. Whenever I need a specialist referral and happened to call during their off hours, I left a detailed message and the referrals get done. I have never met Dr. Silverstein.. I have only been to Nurse Debbie.. I waited 2 hours the first visit and was told so many emergencies because of the flu I thought OK.. if I ever need to get in they take emergencies so I waited patiently ... Same with next appt.. And I got there early. Front desk said that there had been cancelation maybe she could see right away. AWESOME... 1/2 hour AFTER my appt time they call me in.. ( this appt was the Nurse calling me in to discuss blood tests.. Numbers I told her about including me bringing in 2 years of lab tests documentation) so a wasted visit in my opinion.. But as it turned out I needed a referral I told her it was very important. A week later still not turned in.. I called 2 days later another week went by than on that Friday I got my referal the day the doctor I needed to see was leaving on vacation, Not her fault but 3 weeks to get this was a bit frustrating again the vacation part not her fault. Then I got sick called at 9am to see the doctor or the Nurse Debbie was given an appt for 3 WEEKS later... went to urgent care ended up in ER and today 9 days after ER got a call from the office to come in Monday (one day before the appt offered to me when I call that I was sick) for a follow up from hospital..I have only 2 times in 4 years called a doctor for a emergency appt something I told her about the first visit. I explain I am not fond of doctors so if I ever have to call you know I am not well. This was my first time at this office and sure enough 3 weeks to get in???So I am taking a leap here and unless you have been coming here for a long time.. Good Luck.. I will find another doctor .. One more thing they charged me to draw blood 15.00 ( I have no copay)in the office. Again,I set an appointment with Debra Zweifel-Poehlmann.I also did my annual exam with her 2015. I did not follow up on my lab results. Had annual chk up and lab test Oct 14,2016.I know i got problems with my anemia so now I wanted to see the results. Weeks passed and I get no notice. Nov.14,I went to the clinic and requested a copy of the results.The receptionist went to check, came back and said the results were not signed yet so she'll have it mailed in a day or two. I waited.Dec 5, I called to remind them.Finally Dec 9, it came. I was shocked! My FERRITIN was TOO HIGH at 758 (normal is 11-307). I was literally in danger! Iron, Trig,LDL was all high.Cholesterol is high at 218. Hematology Results were all low but these has been my problem ever since. What was appaling was that l received no calls, nothing!They just didn't care! Please, READ all the reviews first.It's your health.It's your life! read more

Dr. Silverstein lost me as a patient after more than ten years when he hired Nurse Practitioner Debra Zweifel-Poehlmann. If you Google her name you will see that she was disciplined (they threatened to revoke her license, but she did not contest charges so she was placed on probation) for incompetence after a patient had a heart attack while she was administering an EKG. She sent him home with a prescription for anxiety medication. The next day he went to the emergency room and died during surgery. I was actually seen by NP Debra, and Dr. Silverstein never bothered to tell me he'd hired someone who almost lost their nursing license. read more

We find that the quality care we consistently receive from her is so superior that when we had the opportunity to change insurance we concluded that Debra is invaluable and irreplaceable and we didn't change. Nurse Debra is the most intelligent, responsive, experienced, thorough, proactive and caring medical provider either of us has experienced in our six decades on the planet. Dr. Silverstein ,NP Debra and medical assistants, as medical practitioners, are fine. Dr. Silverstein's office staff, however, is terrible. I have been a patient as both a PPO carrier, and then as an HMO carrier. You definitely get treated differently, and better, as a PPO carrier. Once we became HMO carriers it became difficult to get appointments. In addition, I've never received my referrals. I called 3 weeks after my visit to check on them and was told they would coming in the next week. A month and a half later and they still haven't arrived.The message seems to be, "we don't want you if you are an HMO carrier". If that's the case, then why agree to take HMO patients at all? Withholding medical services as a punishment to HMO patients just isn't ethical at all. read more

He is young enough to be your DR for a long time..... I had to get my Gall Baldder out....and even though another Doctor performed the operation. Dr. Silverstein is a very intelligent and caring doctor. He took time time to make sure we had a chance to tell him anything that was troubling my spouse. He had checked the records carfully, before we saw him. I was impressed that he took time to do this. He told us he wanted new tests taken so he could compare the previous tests. He also told my spouse to come back in one week, after the results from the tests were complete. This is very fast, especially when we belong to an hmo. He said he wanted to talk about the tests in person rather than over the telephone, again, not the standard procedure for most doctors. This shows me that the doctor really cares and takes an interest in the welfare of ALL his patients, regardless of the kind of insurance you have. Nurse Debra was very nice and a definite asset to the medical office. Looks like we have finally found a doctor who is very intelligent, caring and thorough in dealing with his patients. Impossible to get an appointment with. I have been a patient for over a year and have only been able to get an appointment with nurse practitioner Debra who is completely incompetent. I was pregnant with the flu having fevers and she would not prescribe me anything that would actually make me feel better. Said I should basically suck it up because I am pregnant and only take Tylenol. Four weeks later I was diagnosed with a missed miscarriage, turns out baby stopped growing around the same time I was having those fevers. Coincidence? Perhaps, but I cannot shake the lack of compassion she had for my suffering. I do not recommend this practice. If you need to make an appointment because you are sick and feeling terrible, forget about it, they are always completely booked (or double booked). read more

This one star review is primarily for the front office group.... they are very RUDE, have absolutely no compassion what so ever!! When you call they carry on other conversations with other people while you are talking to then, so you have to repeat or ask if they are speaking to you. They then get very short tempered with you, but the same thing happens when you go into the office. They are talking to you or you are talking to them and anyone asking any kind of question is more important than you and your question or issue. I see NP Debra and like her for the most part. I also like the nurses that assist Debra very nice and compassionate. read more

How hard is it to be friendly? Try not to be offended by the insensitive staff. You will NEVER get a call back from staff. You ALWAYS have to call yourself. Paperwork takes FOREVER.. when they say they will MAIL something, expect it two weeks later. I was pleasantly surprised by the doctors and staff at this office! Everyone was great! I saw Dr. Leibovitch, who is just one of the kindest, most patient and thorough doctors ever! What a find! I can't believe how many doctors I have had who are not! They usually seem rushed, disinterested, arrogant, and condescending. (My boss kept changing our insurance, so I've had several different doctors over the years.) I just heard from Dr. Silverstein today. He actually called me with my x-ray results. If you want to have a doctor that has the old school ethic about caring for his patients and taking the time to spend with them to make sure they are taken care of then you want to choose Dr. Silverstein. Too many doctors these days are driven by volume practices and seeing patients for only a few minutes. But not Dr. Silverstein. He will take whatever time it takes to spend with his patients to make sure they are cared for. I have been to him with problems large and small and he takes care of everything.
