In November 2025, I called this company to inspect my AC/heating unit. The technician upsold me on…read morea heating and cooling maintenance package, explaining that it was the best thing I could do for the unit, so I purchased it. He also told me I needed new filters, which I went out and purchased, and he installed them. He was very friendly, so I felt confident that everything had been taken care of. Since it was winter, we only used the heating portion of the system, and it worked fine. We had no need to turn on the air conditioning until two days ago. When we finally turned on the cooling system, we discovered that it was not cooling at all. I contacted the company because it appeared that either the cooling maintenance had not been performed properly or it failed to identify an issue that already existed. If the cooling system had been inspected as part of the maintenance package I paid for, I would have expected any needed repairs or replacement parts to have been identified at that time, especially since the technician had no problem recommending and selling additional items during the original visit. When I called, I was told that I would need to pay an additional $99 service fee just for someone to come out and look at the unit. I explained that I had already paid over $200 for a heating and cooling maintenance package and wanted to understand why I was being charged another fee when the cooling side of the service had not resolved or identified the problem. Instead of addressing my concerns, the representative raised her voice and repeatedly told me that the only way the company would come out was if I paid the $99 dispatch fee. Based on my experience, this company's business model seems heavily focused on upselling and generating additional service charges. I would not recommend this company and believe customers should be cautious before purchasing their maintenance packages.

Today their very personable technician, Dillion came out to check, maintain and clean our A/C unit. Dillion did a great job, very professional, friendly, engaging and thorough. We truly appreciate everything Jerry Kelly does. We highly recommend them for your heating and cooling needs.

In Sept 2026, during extreme heat, a Jerry Kelly technician diagnosed our non‑working A/C as having…read morea seized compressor and said repairs would exceed $6,000. We were then given a handwritten replacement quote on notebook paper with no brands listed and only vague "standard" vs. "high efficiency" categories. The quotes ranged from $19k-$23k, and we were pressured to make a decision immediately. When we said we planned to get other quotes, the lowest price suddenly dropped to $14k -- an immediate ~30% reduction that made it clear the original pricing was heavily inflated. Our home was over 90 degrees inside, and the only option offered was next‑day full system replacement. We called another HVAC company for a second opinion. Their technician found no seized compressor -- just a failed capacitor -- and repaired it within minutes for a couple hundred dollars, restoring cooling within an hour. He also arrived with a portable A/C unit to ensure our comfort if the repair wasn't possible. Jerry Kelly did refund our diagnostic fee and Maintenance Club membership after I contacted them, but consumers should be aware of the high‑pressure sales tactics, questionable diagnostic practices, inflated pricing, and the importance of getting a second opinion before agreeing to major HVAC repairs or replacements.

For that reason, I had them do a spring checkup, Emma claimed the heat exchanger was cracked, the fly wheel needed cleaning, and the a/c compressor was "over amping." I had a different, highly reputable company check the furnace and a/c, and they found that none of this was true - neither the furnace nor the a/c had any problems. Also, Emma did not provide a written a written description of her service and recommendations, and they have not provided the promised receipt for the payment of the second inspection. They are either incompetent or dishonest, very possibly both.

Tyler came out and found no issue with furnace. 2 days later Bill came out and after 3 hours found that the thermostat wasn't communicating fully with furnace. Still no repairs made. Bill returned a day later and moved thermostat to lower level next to furnace in so it worked thru winter storm and gave me a bid of $400 to move thermostat back to original location in family room. After reviewing the path of the wires through the garage, up into a closet, and finally in through the wall, I decided their were too many possible points of failure and decided to leave thermostat in lower level but needed it moved over a foot so as not to impede doors covering HVAC area. Bill said the cost will be the same per company regs and wouldn't re-bid the job even though it was significantly less time and labor than the previous bid. He also needed to reconnect the A/C so I guess I'll find out this summer if that was done properly. I cancelled on the spot and will hire another HVAC company in the future to move the thermostat 12 inches to the left so I can close the closet door and test the A/C. I'm extremely unhappy.
