I was really pleased by the process for getting our AC replaced. This bid was actually less than the competitors, and they had not been around as long as Harster! It was an easy choice. We scheduled to do the replacement in January. Jim and his team came out to do the install and addressed some additional needs to increase the air flow, make the existing unit up to proper code, and make the filter track so it fit filters appropriately. The last unit installation I'm sure was a DIY job or done by a less qualified company. Jim addressed all those issues. We called Hoffman Bro's first because they deal with both, and they charged us ~$300 to tell us the same thing as Spire and suggest we call a chimney sweep to check the flue pipe for blockages. We couldn't find a chimney sweep that either could be booked within the month to inspect and give us an estimate, and if they could be booked in that time frame they didn't understand the problem we described and wanted us to fork over hundreds to inspect and sweep our flue. Luckily, an acquantance gave us Crestside Ballwin's number. The receptionist called Dave over to learn about the problem and within a minute he figured that the roofers we had over a few weeks ago probably botched the install of the new flue pipe cap. They had a tech come over two hours after I called and sure enough that was the problem. Anyhow, these guys were solid for us, I'm super thankful we found them.
