Not sure why the overall rating here isn't better? Went there tonight for my boyfriends birthday. We were seated immediately and our server Tarek was attentive. Everything was cooked perfectly, had 0 issues throughout the entire meal. It's a little more expensive than other places on/off Austin St, but it was worth the money and the portions were great. read more

I would never order from this place again. The owner has an attitude like his sh*t don't stink, and the food sucks! I ordered the seafood and it took well over an hour to get here, by the time I received it, the seafood was cold, along with the $139.00 porterhouse steak. Since i'm in a nursing home, I have no way to heat the food up as i'm a bilateral AKA amputee as a result of 911. I decided to eat the food anyway and within 12 hours I was doubled over in a fetal position throwing my guts up. After reading several of the other reviews on Grubhub, Doordash & Yelp, I see this is an ongoing repetitive problem. When I called to speak to the boss, I was hung up on twice. At first I thought I was getting disconnected due to poor WiFi, but this wasn't the case. It was the boss hanging up on me both times even though I kept a respectful tone. If I were you, I would purchase my food elsewhere and save yourself 48 hours of sickness, pain, suffering an overpriced rotten food. I found other places like Mighty Crab, Red Lobster that also have seafood and steaks that won't cost $139.00 for an undercooked expensive rotten steak and seafood. I hope this helps each of you. It's better to learn from others than having to live through your own bad experiences. Bleck!!! :::shivers:::: read more

This place used to be the spot go for brunch. But over the last year things have changed drastically. All the regular staff are gone . They all quit or get fired. They keep messing with the menus and prices and the service is terrible. Now if u want a burger. It's extra $2 and the unlimited champagne extra $5. I don't understand why they messing with what works. By the way Dinner menu are overpriced. This place has become totally OVERRATED read more

Aged is pretty good in my opinion as far as steak goes. Like everyone else here, it's definitely not in my hall of fame but it's good. The wedge salad here is pretty tasty. The porterhouse is made very well and the hash browns are very flavorful. They're seasoned in spices and sauteed in a tasty spicy oil. Been here a few times on dates. Not bad but with the money you'll spend, Peter Luger's is a better investment, by far. If you're in the area and looking for a good steak though, go for it. read more

Came here with the living social deal. $70 for pre fixe menu of 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 glasses of champagne. Plus tax and tip it was about $90 in all Meal was average. Baked shrimp had tiny shrimp but flavor wasn't bad. Caesar salad had lots of cheese and a stronger anchovy flavor Filet mignon wasn't bad. It was nice that we could choose from a variety of sauces. Gorgonzola cheese sauce had a buttery flavor and chimichurri sauce had a strong cilantro flavor Pomegranate sorbet was flavorful and sweet. Only 1 scoop but ultimately it was enough. Cheesecake had a little bit of spice to it Overall if you're craving decent American food come to aged. It wasn't spectacular but it wasn't bad either. read more

Had dinner at Aged Restaurant And Bar on Friday evening. While there were some misses on the seafood items, overall it was a pleasant dining experience. Quality: Our meal started with a half dozen west coast Chilled Oysters. Not the best quality with more sand than you hope, but we still ate them up. Next out was the Salmon Tartare. Another below average dish, with salmon that was not very fresh. Luckily the meal turned around here with the Truffle Burrata Salad, the highlight of the evening. A fantastic salad, with a wonderful hunk of rich cheese, and the perfect combo of truffle oil and fig balsamic vinaigrette. The New Zealand Lamb Chops were solid as well. A little dry, but helped by a nice chimichurri sauce. Quantity: Good portions, the Truffle Burrata Salad was surprisingly large. Value: $12 for Chilled Oysters. $16 for the Salmon Tartare. $16 for the Truffle Burrata Salad. $40 for the New Zealand Lamb Chops. Ambiance: Aged Restaurant and Bar is located in Forest Hills, Queens. The restaurant is on a block with several restaurants lined up all with similar outdoor patio designs. We snagged the last outdoor table, but with the movable wall, even the inside seating felt like outside on this night. The inside area had a large bar with a showcase of the wines available. The design was simple yet rustic with wood highlights including the ceilings, chairs, and chandeliers. Crowd: Busy, but not packed. On a gorgeous evening the outside area was filled, but the inside and bar still had a number of open seats. Service: Excellent service. Our waitress was extremely friendly, the staff was quick to clear plates, and our food was well paced. Parking: A fair amount of street parking in the vicinity. read more

Review is for the brunch. Since The Grill closed my brunch dates with my best friend have moved over to Aged. I was in the neighborhood and came in for a late but quick lunch before my next meeting. I've heard of this place before and I'm shocked about the mixed reviews. I had a great experience. The first thing that greets you is a friendly staff, lovely interior decor, and nice music, perfect for a relaxed lunch. I had the French onion soup, and mixed green salad. I enjoyed them. The French onion soup was sooo delicious. The salad was fresh and I liked the Charlotte vinegarette dressing. My waiter was very also very nice and fast. I am very impressed at how quickly they delivered a fantastic lunch since I was in a hurry. I will come back. read more

It will take a lot for a steak restaurant to earn my 5 stars. There are not too many restaurants make it better than when I make it at home (in terms of freshness, flavor and price point). If the meat is good quality, it will taste good without any fancy sauce. I eat small portion, so a large piece of steak will just waste $. So to pay $50+ a piece of steak at the restaurant, it will need the whole package (service, decor, other non-steak food, etc). Came here with a coupon for prix-fixe dinner for 2. bread and butter - bread was served warm (nice), butter was a big thin square on a plate, sweet and unsalted, still cold and not easy to spread on the bread 1st course - Burrata (5 stars) - was the star of the whole experience. We loved the balsamic vinegar so much that we almost licked the plate. - French onion soup (3 stars) - had a nice layer of cheese on top, good flavor. We skipped the butter and dunked the bread into the soup too. 2nd course - linguine alla amatriciana (3 stars) - loved the cured pork, the pasta had quite a bit of garlic pieces and was strong in flavor. - mushroom risotto (3 stars) - while linguine was strong in flavor, risotto was light and tasty. main course - porterhouse for 2 (4 stars) - asked for medium rare and it came out medium rare, good job - is it the best steak I ever had? No but it is pretty good. However, not sure I would pay full price of $99. dessert - chocolate mousse cake (3 stars) - is the better of the two. It was not heavy and tasty. - cheesecake (3 stars) - surprisingly, this was light and not too sweet. T ordered Pescatore (Fisherman) pasta ($26 - 3 stars) - It was quite a large portion with lot of seafood (mussels, clams, squid, etc) over a pile of squid ink linguine. The sauce had strong flavor and a nice kick too. The decor is nice with lot of woods everywhere. The seat at the wall was a bit low, hence the table was a bit too high for eating. It looked like it had only one waiter for the entire restaurant with a few helpers. Some of the things took a bit longer to arrive, but not too bad. We ordered coffee and they never came. Service was just okay (with only one waiter), no one smiled. Music was nice. Strange that we asked our leftover porterhouse (with 3 pieces left) to go and we only got 2 pieces in the box. What happened to the 3rd piece? In summary, I had low expectation of the food and surprised that they turned out pretty good. If I am near the neighborhood, I may visit again and try their brunch or lunch. read more

Extremely attentive and courteous staff. Open Monday's. Staff was all wearing masks and indoor/outdoor seating available. i really expected a lot more from this restaurant. the only thing that was good was the presentation. my boyfriend and i needed to add salt to almost everything because the food was bland. i ordered a braised short rib and for about $32, you would expect a nicely cooked meal, but all i got was an extremely dry piece of meat with a little sauce. the bottomless mimosas had no alcohol whatsoever and felt like we just drank orange juice. my total came to about $151 +tip and none of it was worth close to what they charged. definitely don't recommend. If i could give 0 stars i would. read more

Really expensive, mediocre food, staff was just fine. Super crowded despite outdoor seating

Dining at Aged is like being on a stalled MTA subway. You wait and wait for an announcement and when you finally get one, it says the train will be moving ahead any minute and then it just never moves. That's the same with getting your food. You ask your waitress and the manager when the food will be coming any minute and you still wait and wait. Made a 6:15 reservation before the David Byrne concert, arrived early and was seated promptly, but wasn't served our meal until an hour and a half later. The restaurant was crowded when we walked in but by 7:30 had emptied. It's not that big and has been around for a while, you would think they'd be able to manage a normal Saturday night crowd. I wasn't the only one complaining about where my food was, there were at least 3 other tables who also hadn't received their food. When I told them I had to leave for the concert, the waitress said you and everyone else. As for the food, there was only one bottle of Rose´ available in the restaurant, which thankfully came out early. We when finally got served, I ordered the filet mignon medium well and it came out rare. I immediately asked for the check knowing I may be late for the show and that took forever and then noticed we were charged for the asparagus we ordered but never received. This isn't the first time I've had terrible service at this restaurant, I had a bad brunch experience last year. It's a shame because the food is good (when cooked properly) but I will not be coming back. If there was a problem in the kitchen, the manager should have offered us a free appetizer to tide us over. Luckily they comped us for the food but I'm sure they must have done the same to the other tables complaining. What a total mess. read more

aged - Filet Mignon ordered medium well, came out rare. - Steakhouses Near Me - Forest Hills, New York

The place is called "aged" so basically they're living in 1920 not 2020. Maybe the food would have been fresh back then. We spent a total of 20 minutes in here. We were leaving a party and wanted a nice meal for a upscale date night. We saw this place and figured to give it a try. We ordered the oysters and octopus. The oysters came and we toasted to each other. Not bad. Then we had another one...sand everywhere and an off taste. Black soot and gravel. It was covered in black guck. We explained to the waiter that this was unacceptable and that we wanted to leave. He said okay and left. We waited there for a while while he was in the back. We got up and left. He chased us out saying we HAVE to come back in and pay for the rest of the food that did not come out yet. Are you kidding, my guy? You can't force us to do anything! He almost went to grab my arm. "You have to come back, just come back alright I took the oysters off the bill" I straight up said "No, we don't. That's not right what you served us!" I thought he was going to try and square up with me, but he just cursed at us and waved his hand saying to never come back...we didn't even want to suffer the first time! We walked down the block and found a CLEANER establishment. Side note: bathroom was gross and King Hawaiian rolls from Stop and Shop have more flavor than the bread they served. STEER CLEAR. read more

Food and service were great....HOWEVER, the food portions leave A LOT to be desired. Everything tasted great, but for the price you pay for each entree, you should definitely leave feeling filled. That was not the case. I noticed that I'm not the only reviewer who stated this, so they should definitely look into this. Overall: food and service good, but not good enough to overlook the very disappointing portion size. read more

I came here on a Saturday for brunch and ordered the steak and eggs and also added the $10 for bottomless mimosas, I believe it's for 90 mins. The service here was pretty great but I'm not sure if I can say the same for their brunch menu/food itself. The prices were pretty average but the portion was small in my opinion. My plate was $21 (average brunch price) but they only gave me about like 4 little pieces of steak and little portion of the home fries as well. I've gone to multiple brunch spots that are around the same price range (some even cheaper) but their portions are way more and filling. The only good thing about this place was their bottomless mimosas, other than that I probably won't be returning here. read more

We went there as a party of 10 with 1 stroller. We were seated maybe 30 minutes after our reservation time. They were very polite and kept us updated the whole time. They were also extremely accommodating, being that we did have a rather large stroller with the baby still sleeping inside and gave us great seats. Our waiter was wonderful and came by often to make sure we were ok and that our drinks were always full. HUGE PLUS! Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was because we were never asked how we wanted our steaks cooked. A couple of our plates came extremely rare. Other than that we enjoyed our food and drinks. read more

I got the eggs Benedict with crab meat and it was delicious. My husband got the egg and steak and he said it was good also. Their brunch also come with a small side plate of fruit which I thought was a nice touch. I really like their decor also, it has a pretty upscale chic feel. I'm shocked as to how much I enjoyed this restaurant. Seriously. Shocked. I read the reviews and saw that so many people just found it "A-OK", but to each their own. My boyfriend and I came here for brunch. Key things to know: 1- For $18 you can have your meal AND bottomless champagne. WORD??? Yes. Amazing. 2- For $2.95 you can have a mimosa or bloody mary or screwdriver. 3- The Chicken brunch sandwhich was by far the best thing i've eaten at a brunch Tip- Order the bottomless champagne, and then order a glass of orange juice if you want a mimosa. My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs (medium) and it was the perfect portion. He really enjoyed his meal and I enjoyed the small bite he let me have. I ordered this chicken sandwhich. So delicious! I would recommend that they use a different bacon, but it was still absolutely delicious. The chipotle sauce on the sandwhich was just divine. I was too full to order dessert, but I would definitely come back again! read more

So let me start by saying the table a few feet to my right, the table a few feet to my left, and a person at my table didn't get steak knives with the steak order. The sangria wasn't all that good it just tasted like pears and really didn't have different fruits in it which I'm used to. The salmon sliders were good but I wasn't a huge fan of the calamari- it had to much batter. The creamed spinach was amazing!!! That was my favorite thing from the whole experience. The NY strip & Ribeye were good and they came out with the perfect temp. It was a nice time. Only thing that bothered me was they added automatic 20% gratuity to the bill, which I was very turned off by because usually it's auto gratuity for larger parties and there was not any sign stating it would've been added to the check. Our brunch experience at aged in Forest Hills was amazing! The entire team was very friendly and hands on with our group of seven during our Sunday visit. The servers and hostess were attentive to our needs, and given that we took advantage of their unlimited drinking brunch, they constantly made sure our glasses were filled and that we felt satisfied at all times. If you're going bottomless - you have a handful of drink options to choose from, however keep in mind they do NOT allow you to change your drink choice after selecting. The manager was especially amazing, promptly seating members of our party at the bar who arrived early, and responding positively to any changes regarding our itinerary. He offered to take pictures of our group, and made sure the door was closed at all times to keep us warm as we were sat directly next to the entrance. In regards to the food, all plates were amazing, especially the steak and eggs plate as well as the steak panini. Their portions may appear light for some, so please consider ordering an appetizer or side plate to go along with your meal. I will definitely be coming back here for brunch and want to thank the staff at AGED for such an amazing experience! read more

Unfortunately this could be avoidable but it is clear that acquiring good quality meat and seafood isn't a priority nor top of mind in this establishment! Service was good but the food was no short of unacceptably awful! Steaks are definitely not aged and the raw bar frozen, smelly and old. Time: Brunch Decor: very cozy comfortable Wait: our table was ready for our party 5 we were seated immediately. Service: mildly attentive drinks were re-filled accordingly, however instead of addressing the table from the middle she would ask at the end of the table and most of us would miss what was asked: Food: poor! We ordered the steak & eggs this is ridiculous unless they hadn't received their order of beef for this week 3 extremely tiny little pieces of meat is what all three of us who ordered steak and eggs received. Got a huge steak knife to eat with 3 sliced tiny pieces of meat and some people got 4 slices is the restaurant conserving their meat for dinner later completely wrong! To add $2 extra because on the menu it states steak and eggs extra $2? And I'm not a big portion eater this restaurant can improve, same goes for the chicken and waffle Popeyes has bigger chicken pieces.
