The coctails were very affordable, and the bloody Mary grew on me the more I drank. The food: the steak was good, although I asked for it medium rare, and got it medium well.. it was still good. It came with a small nicely dressed salad, home fries and 2 eggs. I asked for the eggs sunny side up and they were not sunny, they were quite cloudy. The French toast was not toast at all, it was more like pound cake sliced up and grilled. It was delicious, just not French toast. The service was efficient. They have 2 prefix menus and we choose the $45 one, for appetiser I got the tuna tratare which was really good, you can feel it was fresh, as second course I got the salmon and my friend the burger, not just that we got tiramisu as dessert, we were impress about the amount of food we got for $45. Had not been here for a long time as the food quality deteriorated over the years, but read a positive review about the food quality improving so we thought we'd give it a shot. The brunch offerings are good and well priced. The "sets" including drinks are of course no longer offered, but cocktails and even bottomless are very well priced ($10 cocktails, $20 bottomless for 90 minutes), you don't get this kind of deal in the city. Don't let the bad reviews scare you, I'm actually surprised by them. Stopped by today and sat outside, and decided to try their $20 lunch special. I got the Greek salad and the burger, along with their Rose Mule drink. My waiter was very kind and attentive, and promptly brought me water. The salad was refreshing, with tomatoes, cucumbers and a nice chunk of feta cheese. The burger? Outstanding. Especially because for good service we always leave minimum 20%. Additionally, they add a credit card surcharge. Additionally, they brought us an item we did NOT order and sent it back. Then the waiter brought it back and said we "can have it" while he brings the correct order. Yet, he charged us for it!!? We were also there celebrating a birthday and a complimentary dessert was not brought out for the birthday person. It's little things like this that can really leave a sour taste in the paying customers mouth and reduce the rating of the restaurant. From the beginning of my experience at the restaurant to the end, we tried to keep positive about the experience. We were given olive oil (not extra virgin) and 3 pieces of poorly cut, burnt toast. Then we asked for better bread and they gave us 3 more pieces, some toasted and some not. The $59 Ribeye was not of quality, nor was the $55 Fillet Mignon. The knives they provided barely cut the medium steaks, and we even had the knives replaced, but they were still bad. The asparagus was not great, but probably the better part of the meal, and the mashed potatoes with the Fillet were terrible. I paid the bill of $181.68 plus a cash tip. I requested medium rare for the steak but was medium well kinda chewy and cold meat. For the sauce, taste straight from ragu or whatever pasta sauce the supermarket sells. Definitely not worth $29! The ambiance is rustic and spacious enough for the area it's located in. There also outdoor seating. I always get the steak sandwich/panini off the brunch menu here as it's pretty good. The drinks took about 15 mins to be ready. But it wasn't so crowded so I'm not sure why there was a delay. We went with one appetizer but were asked a few times if we wanted more appetizers. As if there was some expectation to the amount of appetizers to have for a party of 4. The calamari was ok. Could've been a bit more crisp but it was seasoned well. For the entrees we went with two rib eyes, one salmon dish and one short rib. The medium ribeye looked fine. Whereas the medium well one looked mangled. It was not appealing looking at all. When it was mentioned the food server shrugged and we requested the manager come over. He had it replaced relatively quickly and it was a lot better. We sat and ate. It was awhile before the server came back again and we were able to get a birthday crème brûlée. They sang. Nothing too special and then we requested the check. For service that was definitely lacking there was a $50 gratuity added. In addition there was another suggested gratuity at the bottom. Easy to miss the previously added amount and to pay additional. The service was cool, we got calamari, and i got a ny strip steak w truffle Mac and cheese which was so good. My friend got the Atlantic truffle salmon w mashed potato's. We ordered lunch but then saw other tables getting brunch. We really wanted brunch but had already ordered lunch. I ordered the French Onion Soup and it was ice cold. I had to send it back and can almost guarantee it was microwaved instead of being remade. I don't remember what else we had because I couldn't stop looking at the waiter's dirty pants and unbuttoned shirt that wasn't tucked in.
