Update: Stopped in to try again. Bar service was much better. Our server was great. Only hiccup was no one covered our server's break after she dropped the bill, so we were left waiting, and finally digging for cash to pay. Unfortunately, have experienced poor service and bland, un-inspired food on 2 different The worst occasion was when the bartender deliberately disappeared for 15 minutes toward the end up happy hour (we had just arrived). She returned with 3 minutes left in happy hour, and announced that the p.o.s. already switched and happy hour was over. It was dead quiet, not busy. It was such a deliberate act to force us to spend more, we ordered only 1 drink and then ate elsewhere. read more

The food was delicious and prices are reasonable. However be prepared to spend a long time here, service was slow. Overall a really nice place and we had a great time. read more

I'm from out of town and the restaurant was close to my hotel. The food was fine and served in a timely fashion. But I dined on an "event night" ( the restaurant is in close proximity to the hockey arena), and apparently on event nights they automatically enter in a gratuity. I would be fine with that if they would make the guest aware of that (the server didn't, but I happened to notice on the bill). Further, when we we sat I ordered guacamole, chips and salsa. One of the staff brought chips and salsa, so I informed my server I had ordered guacamole chips and salsa, and guacamole was brought. But when I reviewed my bill, there were charges for both "chips and salsa" and "guacamole, chips and salsa". (I was essentially double billed). When I asked my server she said "you ordered them separately so you were charged for both". I made it clear I did NOT order them separately, and why would you charge for both, when "guacamole, chips and salsa", includes chips and salsa. Point is - if you dine here check your bill carefully.. pretty disappointing dispite reasonably good food. read more

Planned on coming here for dinner and drinks before the comedy show, but the hostess was not very nice. Wanted 6 people at our table but we couldn't be seated until all 6 were present. The last 2 people weren't able to come so we changed it to 4 people. Hostess looked at us as if we were lying and went to talk to her manager. Then she told us we only have 1 hr to eat and leave due to it being an event night. Wanted to clarify it, as it sometimes can take an hour for food to come. She just said roughly an hour because other people need to eat before the show. Went elsewhere. There's a way to say things without being rude. read more

We have been here numerous times over the last few years. It is very convenient when attending events at Seattle Center. Past meals have been decent. Last night was awful. From service to food. Server asked if we had time limitations. We said yes. Food only arrived (with raw meat) after three inquiries. We finally left without eating. Will not be back. read more

The first thing the person at the front desk said when we walked in was, "There's a concert at Key Arena tonight and we'll need tables for the concert-goers, so we need you to try to eat and go in an hour." Not very welcoming, plus it didn't make sense. Since we were going to that very concert, we knew that it started in an hour, so what concert-goers would come in to eat AFTER THE CONCERT HAD STARTED? It ruined the whole meal for me, which I wasn't impressed with anyway -- the empanadas were flavorless except for the green goo they drizzled on top. If you can't welcome me into your restaurant when I'm paying you money to have a nice time, then you should close your doors permanently. Your thinly veiled attempt to get more diners packed in for more $$$ turned me off completely. Bum rush out the door = super lame. read more

Omg!! Everything that i ordered was BOMB!! Nachos are fire!! Meat grilled to perfection(chicken).....food hot off the stove..no issues........my husband ordered the steak fajitas with added shrimp...omg delicious ......also, the bartender(JOEY)makes the drinks with the right amount of alcohol. The food was excellent! I had grilled fish tacos and my hubby had the chicken enchiladas and both were amazing! My only complaint was the service. The waiter was friendly but not very helpful I guess you could say. We got there at about 950-955pm. I had gone on the website before we came and saw they had a happy hour at 10pm, when I asked the waiter about the happy hour he said they just didn't have one. I was a little confused but ordered as normal. He just seemed a little off/overwhelmed. He did even ask for our IDs for the drinks until after the hubby said something about it... and we are in our mod 20's and i dont think we look that's old to not be asked so it was just a little strange. Over all the food was tasty and the atmosphere was great! I just wish I would have set directly in the bar read more

Probably not your best option for having Mexican food in Seattle. Overly expensive for below average food. Also their happy hour is a joke. When you wanna go in they tell you they have happy hour but they charge you as regular hours! read more

Mediocre Mexican dried up beans and rice and tortillas. I make better rice and beans. Don't recommend this place

Definitely a good place to eat if you're in the lower Queen Anne area. They menu is limited but everything is delicious. They also have Pacifico on tap which is one of my favorite Mexican beers. Salute read more

Great food, pretty interior, friendly staff. I thought it was mostly a sports bar for a long time so I never went until recently. The TVs were turned down low so they weren't distracting. It was a really pleasant vibe. The queso was really delicious. They had good vegetarian options. The portions were really big! read more

Amazing food! Great drinks! Loved the chimichanga. Had garlic spinach, yum!!! Great happy hour from 3-6 and after 9

Hands down if you have had amazing out of this world Mexican food, this will blow your mind

Agave rocks. Great atmosphere, staff, airy--especially when the weather is warm with giant open windows, a patio. Great drinks--but the quality of the food is exceptional. Carne Asada is amazing--try it on Sunday with eggs. Tequila selection is impressive--eye candy abounds. read more

The first time I ate here the food and service were EXCELLENT. Today, I met a friend for lunch. We were sitting outside social distancing. I ordered the Seafood and Spinach salad. I was about half way done, when I bit into something hard. Thinking the spinach stem was hard, I spit it out. To my surprise, it was an L shaped piece of plastic about 1/2" X 1/4" in size. We notified the waiter. He looked dumbfounded. He went inside and returned with a small bowl and took the plastic piece away. He came back to our table to let us know that he will be giving me 50% off MY meal. Seriously?? What an insult! Had I swallowed this piece of plastic, I would have had to go to the hospital. My son is a restaurant owner. The 50% discount is unacceptable!!! I will never return and I will make sure my friends and family don't return, too. read more

I'm a fan! Had an incredible happy hour experience with a group of close friends. Chips and Salsa were fresh and delicious. I had their spicy cilantro/jalapeno margarita, which was rimmed with a spicy salt mixture... it was so good, I had to have a few more! We shared a few things on the happy hour menu. Favorites were the tacos and the stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon. Super Quality. The service was great, attentive and friendly. Interior was absolutely gorgeous. One of my favorite parts, besides the spicy margarita, was that the owner stopped by our table to ask about our experience. That is the hallmark of any quality restaurateur. Thanks Federico! We'll be back! read more

On a recent trip to Seattle for our anniversary Agave Cocina & Tequilas was recommended to us by our hotel management. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised by our experience. The variety of appetizers and entree items was unique, innovative and very affordable. The food items we tried were all well prepared and presented. The wait staff was exceptional and the service was efficient even during the height of Happy Hour. The restaurant was only a month old when we visited so everything was sparkling. We will definitely return to Agave next time we travel to Seattle. read more

Was not at all impressed with the service nor the food here. I will never come back or suggest any one to this particular place for Mexican food! There are far many decent resteraunts that have much better food and of course service. read more

Semi-fancy Ameri-Mexi joint. Fun atmosphere. Good chips!

Excellent service. Top notch bar and top notch food. Love the environment and friendly bartenders.

Great meal and atmosphere. We had the guacamole with roasted corn, it was delicious. We sat in the bar and the service was great.

Nice addition to the neighborhood, very friendly staff and great outdoor patio when the SUN is out. Working my way through the 150 plus tequilas...1/2 off on all of them on Tuesdays. Tortilla soup is my favorite thing for lunch. read more

Don't recommend. Tacos are too too little even for girls. And the duck tacos was flavorless.

Had lunch here with some co-workers, and was really not impressed. The decor is nice and service was reasonable, but the food was incredibly bland and flavorless. The red salsa they served with the chips was closer to a marinara sauce, although the green salsa had a little more flavor and heat. Also, the six of us at the table got our food in three very widespread phases, and while we all waited politely until everyone had their food to eat, what had been delivered early got cold. I ordered the crispy fish tacos - the fish was overcooked and heavy on the breading, and the slaw and aioli were without flavor at all. As a side I ordered the cilantro & jicama slaw, which was a pile of dry cabbage without any dressing at all that I could taste. A co-worker who had requested no sour cream got a plate covered with it, and the rest of the table seemed to be underwhelmed with their food as well. After tip my two fish tacos and tasteless slaw cost me over $17, and were completely disappointing. I had heard similar stories from others who had gone there, but didn't think it could really be that bad. Sadly, it was. read more

I've worked in the area for a number of years now, so it's exciting to see new restaurants going in as the food variety in the area has been rather lackluster. I find myself at Pesos for lunch or happy hour quite a bit, so I thought this place would be a great alternative. I suppose my review below should be taken with a grain of margarita salt as this place has only been opened about a week or two and clearly has kinks to work out like any new restaurant. We arrived at about 5pm tonight (friday) in an attempt to grab HH. There was not an open seat or even any standing room in the bar, so we opted for a seat outside. The hostess was prompt and friendly and water and chips/salsa arrived right away, but that's where the good service ended. We both ordered margaritas which took nearly 10-15 mins to arrive and were brought out by someone other than our waitress... she showed back up about 5 minutes after to take our food order (so, 15/20ish mins after we sat down) and then awkwardly asked if we were going to want another drink soon. We had only taken a couple sips since they had nearly just arrived, but my boyfriend shrugged and said that he probably eventually would, and she replied, "ok because I accidentally ordered an extra so it will probably be out in a minute".... After that we didn't really see her and the couple times she did pass she did not offer to refill empty water or chips. When food finally arrived it was served by a man who looked like he could've been a supervisor or manager, but the orders were wrong. My boyfriend got his food (with the wrong sides) but they did not have mine. He came back about 5 mins later with my plate and my boyfriends correct meal. Literally every single table around us was getting incorrect orders. It eventually became a game of going table to table and saying, "did someone out here order *insert name of dish here*".... The ladies at the table behind us ordered drinks that never arrived so one finally went in and asked where they were, 10 minutes later still nothing so they mentioned it to the waitress as she walked by, but to no avail by the time we left these ladies were still drinkless. Oh, and the food was not good. They gave me about a 2 tablespoons full of rice and the chimichanga was soggy. My boyfriend said his sweet potato fries were cold upon arrival. We were a little shocked when we got the bill and it was nearly $60. That second round that the waitress "accidentally" ordered? Yep, we were charged for it. I did not voice my complaints or ask for a manager because the waitress was clearly struggling and seemed to be in a daze so I didn't want to make a scene or give her a harder time than she was already having.... but I am surprised that the meals seemed to be served by the manager helping out who should've taken note to the fact that things were clearly a hot mess and probably should've taken the initiative to comp or discount... or at least apologize! I'll let this place work it's problems out before I return because it certainly was not a $60 experience. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully designed though... for what that's worth. read more

Come for the atmosphere leave for the food. This new restaurant looked good so my girlfriend and I stopped in before an Imax movie. My carne asada burrito was a tasteless. The guacamole was clearly bulk, served out of a bag. I've bought premade at the grocery store that was much better. None of the food was memorable. The drinks were ok. This place is clearly looking to make a buck off a nice atmosphere without any effort to sell good food. We should have kept walking to pasos. read more

After an afternoon at the Seattle Rep, we went to Agave for dinner. It was a nice afternoon, so we asked to be seated outside. We quickly got seated and received the menu, water and complementary chips and salsa. Then we waited for our Waitress and waited and waited. Others around us were served. We spotted a couple of waitress's looking at out table, but alas no service! After about a half an hour, someone went inside to inquire and they said they would send someone, but it still did not happen. We finally had to leave and found somewhere else to eat. We will not return to this restaurant. read more

I went the other day with a few friends for happy hour and I have some mixed feelings. The first thing I will say is it has a lovely feeling inside as the decor is very calming and refreshing. The margarita's were delicious and well made. The calamari was delicious too. The two things that I did not care for was the quesadilla (spinach) it was barely cooked and cold when it came to the table. Also the chicken nachos were so dry it was as if someone had sprinkled sand on them. Last but not least, the tortilla chips are not that great. I think they should try to find a better tasting and thicker chip. I know that this place is new, so I hope that some of these things are worked on and I would definitely go back to see how the second round turns out. :) read more

I would give this place a 0 stars if I could because after 20 minutes of waiting for a server we got up and left. You'd think on a fairly busy 7pm Sunday evening they would have some decent service. The hostess sat us at a table outside, and in 20 minutes no one came to even bring water or acknowledge our existence. Oh well. Crappy Service! read more

Great ambiance, amazing salsa, mediocre food & poor drinks! Agave is a modern sustainable mexican restaurant, which has an upscale vibe. It is in one of the new swanky buildings, so it has a modern and new feel to it. The restaurant is reasonably large with a separate bar and dining section, so it's good for large groups too. The place is dimly lit and very fancily decorated, but it is often pretty empty except for HH or weekends so not a very good place for a date. They play really good music here though. They have a late night happy hour daily, and the specials on appetizers and drinks are pretty good. However, our drinks were very poorly made. I got the bacardi mojito, which was extremely sweet and lacked any flavor of mint. My friend got the red sangria, which tasted watered down for some reason. Its quality could be lacking due to happy hour, but that's not an excuse. The food was lackluster. We got a burrito and an enchilada, and both of those were just alright, and not very flavorful. Even the side of rice and beans was bad. However, the salsas they serve with the chips were excellent! The service was friendly, but a little slow. There was only one server in the entire bar section, who was also the host, so it took her a while to get to all patrons. She did do a very good job even though she was overwhelmed. Prices are definitely on the higher side, about $7-9 for appetizers, and $13-16 for simple entrees like burritos. For the quality of the food, I felt it is not worth the price. Overall, a trendy restaurant seriously lacking in quality food, drinks, and staff. I would not recommend. read more

We fell for the relatively nice decor and patio dining. The waitstaff didn't seem to know what they were doing like everyone was just hired for their first restaurant job. The worst part was the food. My girl and I agreed that it tasted like a Minnesota bachelor trying his hand at "Mexican" food. I had fish tacos that were just shredded cabbage and dry fish sticks. The garlic spinach(?) was just boiled spinach, i.e, without oil, and so, natch, gritty. The shrimp skewers... Eesh... Sad. Pass. read more

I was really enjoying the vibe of this place and looking forward to my crispy tacos. The staff was personable and organized even as the restaurant was busy. We ordered guac to go with our homemade chips and salsa. Everything was tasty. I ordered the crispy tacos. The tacos arrived and after digging through layers of lettuce and onions, I found my now soggy tacos. What's up with that? read more

food was great! Service friendly, very calming decore

Love this place, I have been a couple times and enjoyed it. The restaurant has a great layout with good decor and very clean. I got something new to eat every time and loved it. There happy menu is really good too! The wings are the best(special seasoning made in house)! Oh and Tuesday is half price tequila . Good looking and friendly staff Is always a plus too. I just can't get enough of good Mexican food. Looks like they got a new regular! read more

Steps from Seattle Center, large bar area AND large regular dining area. I've been 3-4x times now, and Agave's always been on point. They can rush your order if you have a show to catch, with the awareness that multiple plays, performance halls, and Imax are nearby. Their menu and complimentary chips and salsa(s) are very good, and serving sizes are ample as expected from a Mexican place in Seattle. So what's good here? Get the $11 soft tacos (choice of 4-5 kinds) which come in pairs, add rice and beans for $3 or two special sides for $4. I highly recommend trying their corn side which has a smoky flavor. My friend and I split the shredded chicken & mole, and the scallops & prawns soft tacos- all served hot and delicious. The hostess and manager greeted us at the door and sat us promptly although there weren't many tables left, and our friendly server checked back often and kept us on time for our show. read more

Agave - Noche estrellada @AgaveCocina - Cocktail Bars Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I was here on Cinco de drinko. Here are some observations. -Beautiful restaurant with a fun area in the restaurant where the windows open up. -Greeted with water, chips and salsa. -Agave margaritas were great. -Enchiladas were tasty and a good portion, chicken quesadillas are good for one(not a good sharing option) -Wait staff was friendly, beautiful girls, with no name tags though lol would hate to result in yelling or snapping my fingers to get her attention. -The servers didn't really know the menu and sure that's somewhat expected being a new restaurant but come on, do your homework darling. -It was surprising that they don't really play Mexican music here. -(never got a name)Middle eastern manager was running around helping but when spoken to he seemed so confused and just awkward. Would have been nice for him to even introduce himself and be a bit more personable. But hey, they don't sell that over the counter lol. Overall I would return, even though it took forever for us to check out. There wasn't too much of a sense of urgency amongst the servers. The $5.50 margaritas made up for it, hopefully they'll have a great happy hour. read more

Came in around 9pm on a Saturday. Guacamole was great, chips were great, water was great. My food was alright, not that warm. My friend who had the seafood was appalled, may have gotten mild food poisoning after. Their restaurant cleanliness rating from the city said "good" which is sometimes concerning in bigger restaurants. Overall it's not great but also not too horrible, they're open late so sometimes if you don't want Dicks drive in, this is a better option. read more

This was my first time at Agave. Atmosphere is beautiful, fountains, twinkly lights, the whole 9-yards. Unfortunately, our server had quite the attitude. From the second she brought us water I would tell we were being judged, she didn't want to be there and the experience was going to be unpleasant. That sat us is the way back corner, next to a wall and empty tables being cleaned. There were clearly better and more comfortable seats readily available and no one waiting to be seated. I was immediately put off by this. Now for the food: my Red Sangria was bitter and lacked the sweet Spanish charm that most Sangrias have. I had the grilled halibut soft tacos, though the halibut was great it was unfortunately topped with mango salsa. The mangos were not ripe and therefore created a sour taste - not the best with fish. My fiancé had the chicken enchiladas, which he seemed to enjoy. Overall, it was not the worst experience ever, but I don't think I would go again. read more
