They refinish our wood floors 6 months ago and i have more visible scratches and dents than I did prior to refinishing. AG agreed to come back and look since I complained about this but they say it's just aesthetic and it's caused by my dogs and children. But the same dogs and children lived in the house since 2018 so it shouldn't be worse than before. The fact that I'm going to have to refinish my floors in 2-3 years is absolutely infuriating given the cost and inconvenience of getting wood floors refinished. read more

Not only did my floors turn out beautifully, but the team at AG went above and beyond expectations. There were some major unforeseen issues involving the removal of concrete subflooring that was crumbling and not deemed stable enough to install the new floors over (which was the original plan). The extra unanticipated work to fix this issue took 3 days, but did AG charge me even a dollar more than my original quote? NOPE!! I was charged the original price AND the job was completed on schedule. This is a prime example of a business that truly cares about their customers. Update: After a missing painting and defective floors, I once again tried to resolve the situation with this company. When I explained that I should not be responsible for the full payment because I now need to hire another company to fix their poor work, they responded by threatening to place a lien on my house if I disputed the charge. This company consistently ghosts customers, refuses responsibility, and resorts to threats instead of solutions. Not once did they apologize or attempt to resolve the issues professionally. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

This was an all-around great experience working with the AG Floors team. My husband and I bought our 1950s house a year ago and decided to re-finish the flooring for our first floor. First, it was great working with Teresa, as she handled all of the communications from scheduling the meeting to answering my many, many questions. And she did so with efficiency, thoroughness, patience, and so much kindness. Second, the quote we received from the team was very reasonable, given the request and having done a cost comparison with other vendors. As Teresa quoted, the team completed the work efficiently and kindly. Our floors look AMAZING! And we are beyond grateful to have partnered with their team! We got our floors refinished but had huge issues after the project was done. The main issue was there were several hairs trapped in the floors. There were over 20 spots we found with hair. The project was done on Jan. 27, and we've been finding more hair spots every single day. There are probably more than 30 spots now. There were also spots on the floor that we pointed out where the wood wasn't refinished properly and there were some discoloring but they tried to blame another contractor (our kitchen remodel contractor). But the spots were nowhere near the kitchen, not where the kitchen contractors would've been whatsoever. Another thing was in our upstairs guest bathroom, we found poop stains in the toilet. We know these weren't there until the floors were done because we did a final walkthrough during closing and it was clean, and no one lived there when the floors were being done. Also, we didn't get the upstairs floors refinished so they shouldn't have been up there in the first place. We also found hairs trapped in our powder room on the primary floor. They were little hairs so they look like pubic hair. Just disgusting. We contacted AG Floors about the issues. We scheduled a day but had to reschedule because the person who was supposed to come apparently didn't show up to work. When one of the employees finally came to "fix" it (I believe his name was Carlos, who did the original work) he seemed like he didn't want to be there. He was annoyed every time we pointed out a spot. We marked all the spots on the floors where we found hair with paint tape. When we showed the spots to him, he just took off the tape and said it was "nothing" or he said he didn't see the hair. We pointed out the hairs several times but he insisted it was nothing. When he finally admitted he saw the hairs all he did was scrape our floor with a razor blade which left scratch marks all over. We could've done that ourselves. A huge issue was when we showed him 4 hairs in one spot but instead of fixing them, he scraped up a nail that was in the floor and out gray putty inside. That wasn't even an issue - I specially told him to NOT touch that spot. As you can see in the picture it absolutely does not match our floor and created a bigger issue. After he "fixed" the issues he rushed out the door as we were trying to inspect everything. We contacted AG Floors again to complain about Carlos. The owner Felix and manager(?) David came out to inspect the floors. They seemed apologetic but when they came out again to fix the issues, it was a waste of our time. Essentially, their solution was to refinish the entire thing. We had already moved in and settled. We also have pets. Their solution was extremely inconvenient, impractical, and unfair, so we declined it. How were we supposed to move all of our furniture for the floors? Another solution was to refinish the areas but they said this wouldn't even guarantee the new parts matching the rest. This should've been done correctly in the first place and who knows if it would've been done correctly the second time. We had to ask for a refund which they only provided $750 back when we paid $4150. We didn't expect it to be immaculate but finding 20+ spots of hairs and globs of finish is unacceptable. The partial refund didn't make up for the flaws at all, but we were tired of dealing with them so we took it. We were also tired of them coming out to our home and not providing adequate service. Now we'll have to deal with the issues ourselves and live forever with the hairs. I'm glad others had positive experiences with this company but we do not recommend them whatsoever. From the estimate, to the on-site work, to the follow-up during and after, AG Floors provides exemplary service at a very reasonable cost. We ripped up the carpet in two of our upstairs rooms, where the hallway and the other room already had exposed hardwood, to find nice hardwoods in bad shape. AG brought them back to life and matched them perfectly with the hardwoods that were already showing! Tricky job sanding untreated flooring that is 15 years old, and owners that are out of state. I have wood floors in my house and have been wanting to get them refinished. Some are in better shape than others and upstairs turned out to be pine instead of oak like I had on the main floor. AG Floors came out very promptly and gave estimates for the rooms. I decided only to do the rooms that were in rougher shape. When I was ready to get the work done they fit me into their schedule. The workers were diligent preparing the space and sealing it off to minimize the dust in other areas of the house. They also cleared out all the debris like the quarter round trim and protective sheets after they were done. The end product with trim looks great and they matched the new floor well to the old. After thinking about refinishing of my hardwood floors for 20 YEARS, a family friend suggested AG. Well I signed up for total refurbishing of my dismal and worn wood floors not knowing what to expect. I went away for one week to allow them the freedom to do the work and imagine my surprise upon return. I almost cried when I came into the house and saw the magnificent restored floor, even better than when the house was new in 1998. The furniture was even moved back to exact positions and every detail was handled with care and class. I scheduled an estimate to have my hardwood floors sanded and refinished. The owner (I believe) came to my house and stood in the foyer and said he couldn't do the job because of the bevels. I knew he was not being honest. I already had other estimates done and dealing with the bevels had been discussed by the other flooring professionals. I have a beautiful home and I am not sure why he failed to provide an estimate. I suspect it was due to my skin color. Interesting enough, one of the other flooring experts saw the list of companies I was getting estimates from. He was quite frank and told me which companies did good work and which ones to stay away from. He told me not to go with AG Floors because they do not do good work. So, perhaps in the end I dodged a bullet. read more

***BUYER BEWARE****The provider at AG floors stated they could lay 300 sq ft of wood floors we already purchased. The floors needed leveling and base boards. When the contractor showed up she stated she could perform the service. The workman came the following Saturday to lay the floors. I asked if they were going to put in the base boards and they said they could not put in the base boards. The lady I spoke with became down caustic and derisive. She said the base boards werent part of the original contract which was unclear because we discussed it verbally. I told AG Floors if the couldnt lay the base boards then they would have to stop the work. She said they would lay the base boards after the floor was done, which would've been completely wrong. All of the the other rooms baseboards were installed prior to the floor being laid. She immediately called her workmen to stop the work and they cleaned up and left. The job remains completely unfinished and this was one of the worst contracting experiences I've ever had. I highly suggest you consider another professional company before working with AG floors. This company clearly tries to cut corners, and lacks the professional quality I expect from an Yelp company. It turns out after further discussion with the workman that AG floors didn't want to install the base boards because they didn't have the correct metal screws even though I provided them with the baseboards. In other words AG Floors was willing to do the job the wrong way instead letting me know why they couldn't do the job correctly. **UPDATE** AG Floors tried to fraudulently charge my credit card even thought didn't do any work. I had to cancel my card and have the charges reversed. I added pictures of the unfinished floors after they decided to stop the work. They still tried to charge me $1100.00 dollars. read more

We had a great team and they helped us choose the right color for the floor based on their experience and knowledge and they were also very accommodating to our needs. I bought a 1920s fixer upper a few years ago. We tore out the carpeting to discover original hardwood floors in bad condition (water damage, pet damage, etc.). I got a few quotes for refinishing and went with AG Floors. The floors look great. We went with the darkest stain possible and the damage is no longer visible. Awhile later, I was renovating the kitchen. My contractor quoted me $1300 to refinish the original kitchen floors, which seemed exorbitant. I called AG Floors and they had someone at my house a couple hours later to give me a quote of under $600. They were able to start work the next day. I will be using them again when I'm able to start work on the 2nd floor! read more

This business was fabulous. They installed hardwoods in our basement. We installed engineered hardwoods as a basement floor cannot take "real" hardwoods (which they explained). Engineered hardwood is NOT veneer. I went out to their location to look at the different types/colors of floors. They did not try to upsell, nor did they try to convince me that "cheapest was best". They listened to what I wanted. The entire process was seamless. They measured when they said they would, the install was excellent and it looks amazing. They charged a reasonable price to move our pool table (which they quoted up front). I can't say enough great things about them. If I do more hardwood flooring work, I will definitely call them again. read more

I had been looking for a company to remove the carpet from my stairs and install hard wood as well as put hard wood in my bedroom. A friend told me about AG Floors. They came out and gave me an estimate on what the project would cost and there were no hidden fees added on. They were great! They started the project on time and finished on time. This is the worst, most unprofessional company I have had the misfortune of dealing with. They initially told me the job would be finished on a Sunday. I had an out of town trip scheduled to coincide with the work. They contacted me while I was away to inform me they had to redo part of the job because of a problem with the machine they use to sand the floor. This was supposed to add two days. So of course I had to scramble to get a hotel for the additional time. Never mind I now don't have enough clothes and need to do laundry etc. So now I'm told it will be five more days. Needless to say this has created a major problem as now we are a week beyond the original completion date. On top of all of this we go by the house and it appears completely untouched from the last time we checked. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST. I would give no stars if Yelp allowed this. What makes this fiasco even worse is the complete lack of concern for the problem they created. What a s--- show. read more

I hired A&G Floors about 10 years ago. They were communicative and completed the job on time. I decided to contact them for a small job this year. The job was to refinish the small front hall, buff the stairs to second floor, refinish the basement stairs, refinish a small threshold to the backdoor and install a few feet of quarter round left in our home office. They told me the minimum fee was $800. We signed a contract to do all the of the items I listed. I paid an additional $100 to install quarter round on the basement stairs. I am giving them a low rating because after they charged the final payment we realized they neglected to nail in the quarter round on the bottom stair of the basement. Thinking this was a mistake we emailed and requested they come back to nail it in. They refused saying that they would not return because it was over laminate flooring. Our position is that the quarter round should have been nailed to the wood stair case and since we paid for quarter round they should not leave that job incomplete. I am frustrated at contracting companies that refuse to complete work forcing the homeowner to hire yet another person (or rent a nail gun and do it ourselves) when this should be an easy/ straightforward problem for them to fix to please the customer. Their decision to not complete the job seems ridged and not customer focused. They left us with a problem to fix. This is how I will remember this company. read more

We recently hired AG Floors to refinish the hardwood floors and install carpeting in the upstairs portion of the home we recently purchased. We were under a tight timeline as we were trying to complete the work in under 3 weeks before we were scheduled to move in. Different teams worked on the floors and carpets but both were thorough and worked efficiently. As they were refinishing the wood floors, the fridge started leaking and they called us immediately. The team who was on-site helped my husband triage the issue and get the fridge out of the way so it wouldn't damage the floors. We were in regular contact with the main office and they provided us with updates along the way and let us know the night before when the team was expected to arrive. The finished product of both the hardwood and carpeted floors was fantastic. They offered competitive pricing and definitely worked with us on our timeline! I would highly recommend AG Floors. I have had them work on my floors several times over the past 15 years. Most recently, they pulled up the carpet and refinished the floors of my second floor bedrooms, which had pet and other dark stains on the floor. They did a wonderful job, with the floors looking absolutely wonderful. My house is about 85 years old, but they were excellent at getting the original hardwood floors to look new.
