When traveling down south, the proper gentleman will quench his thirst and satiate his hunger at a steak house, perched on the second floor overlooking the street. Well we were not proper, but we decided to come anyway! It was a classy place with great service. The food was tasty, too. But it will be pricey and you will have small portions...still worth a visit if you are near the Ritz. Try the filet mignon and the house made peach sorbet! One of the most memorable aspects was hand selecting your own steak knife!

bone-in veal parmesan $48

Very disappointing overall. I had high hopes since it's advertised as fine dining. The place wasn't busy at 7pm on a Friday. The inside looked classy with dim lighting to set the mood. Unfortunately, service was a miss. Our server barely checked on us. Different staff dropped off our drinks and food so we never actually saw our server until the end of our meal. I ordered the bone-in veal, which was incredibly salty, from the breading to the cheese on top even the salad had actual salt grains I could chew. The tomato sauce on the side tasted like cheap canned pasta sauce. My friend's Antarctic salmon was a bit better but the prosciutto was dry and stale and didn't add anything. Maybe we picked the wrong dishes but the seasoning was so off that I couldn't enjoy my meal. Wouldn't recommend.

We were staying at the hotel and decided to have a team dinner here. Overall a very nice experience. The server was very attentive made aure we had everything we needed. He was well aware of the menu and the wine list. The food was very good and the restaurant has an old school steakhouse vibe. If back in ATL I would definitely stop by again.

Very disappointing, staying at hotel, came down for breakfast, after ordering, took 20 minutes to get orange juice for the kid. Took almost an hour to get food. The omelette is overcooked and but the eggs Benedict is pretty good. Just frustrating how slow the service is as you'd expect when you are paying 25 dollar for a omelette, the service should be on par.

We stayed at The Ritz for New Years Eve and while our stay at the hotel was as wonderful as one would expect for The Ritz brand, this was one of the most unpleasant dinner experiences. We were excited to acquire a reservation to celebrate NYE because we did not want to go out and we thought that was a good sign. It started with a phone call asking about a corkage fee.. we were told we could bring our own bottles of wine and that the fee was $35/bottle. No big deal as we were happy that bringing our own bottles was not an issue. We also confirmed with the hostess before she left for the day. It is important to note that a member of my party wrote down the name of both people that he spoke to. We were seated in The Distillery which was nice and sort of private as another party was seated next to us. We provided our waiter with three bottles of wine and before he poured our glasses, a manager approached my friend that made the reservation and instead of speaking to him outside, he spoke to him at the table in front of everyone. He explained that not only are you not allowed to bring bottles that they currently have on their list, but the max is only two bottles. We were told no such thing and furthermore, how are we to know what bottles a restaurant has on their menu in advance? My friend has Ambassador Titanium status and handled the situation very well by not only providing both names of the employees that we talked to but that neither person told us there was a max of bottles or provided us with a prior wine list. After everything, the manager agreed to let it go, as we were able to provide names and times of said conversations. To say his approach was tacky is putting it mildly. After the uncomfortable situation, we started with a seafood tower, that was lacking in so many ways, I can't even go into detail. We ordered the halibut with truffles, seafood fettuccine and the tomahawk steak medium rare. The halibut was delicious, the pasta was too al dente, but the seafood was good and the tomahawk was downright awful. Upon first presentation, our waiter sat down a well done steak with no explanation of the sauces that accompanied the steak. We had a word with him and it was sent back. The replacement was a rare steak. It was cooked on the outside, but the inside was so red, it looked almost raw and with food poisoning was on our minds, it too was sent back and we declined anything replacement. We dared to dine here for breakfast for two days and that is the only reason AG is getting two stars instead of one star. The AG breakfast sandwich with chicken apple sausage instead of Tasso ham was simply delicious as was the cinnamon brioche French toast, and both salmon and classic eggs benedicts were also very good.

Wow! Amazing food was excellent steak was cooked perfect. Hands down some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had, steak had great flavor. Sat at the bar and service was great, loved the inside very calm feeling and warm, food was amazing, would definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Atlanta Peach

Exceptional experience. The atmosphere is classy but not pretentious, just a classic feel to it. Service was amazingly attentive but not intrusive--our server gave genuine recommendations that proved to be well-taken (no tack of just pushing some item they need to move like you unfortunately see at times). Of course, the fare is most important at any restaurant (though I'll definitely give or dock points for quality service and atmosphere). And the meal did not disappoint. Started with cocktails, including an exquisite smoked old fashioned prepared tableside--rich, deep flavor with the smoke giving the perfect accent as opposed to overpowering the drink. At our server's recommendation, I ordered the Berkshire pork chop special--one of the best chops I've had. Tender, well-seasoned, beautifully cooked...this needs to be on the menu. Most of my cohorts ordered steaks of various cuts (always a good move at a steakhouse...), and everyone raved about them. And don't skip dessert. I mean it, get one to go if you're out of room. We admittedly over-ordered a bit, but it was worth it. My person all favorite was the Atlanta Peach--a unique little dish, quite tasty (assuming peach flavor is something you're good with, of course). But all were excellent. I look forward to returning next time I'm in town.

Oxtail tortellini and filthy martini

I came here for a work dinner with a colleague and it did not disappoint! We wanted a place to sit outside since the weather was perfect and the hostess was very nice and accommodating. There are both indoor and outdoor seating options which are all very nice and there is a nice bar seating area as well near the entrance. I ordered a filthy martini and it was made very well! The bread service is delicious and comes with a variety of delicious options. I ordered the oxtail tortellini with a side of Brussels sprouts. The tortellini was filled with so much flavor and the Brussels were sweet and savory. I recommend this spot for anyone who is in the area and looking for some delicious food!

Tom was such a fabulous server from start to finish. The incredible hostess seated me in such a fantastic booth even though I was dining solo but plenty of space during an early dinner. Forever grateful to her!! Such a beautiful intimate setting and outstanding food and cocktails. Highly recommend the salmon and smoked old fashioned.

Caesar Salad

Great restaurant, lovely ambiance and service. Had the Caesar salad and added steak it was great and split French fries and the broccolini which were both good. The broccolini is not overdone and is served just with onions and seasoning which I liked. Ended with the warm brownie which was good but didn't blow me away. Would recommend this place

I'm so disappointed in our family Christmas dinner at AG this year. The scallops in my seafood dish were lukewarm, smelled fishy and had a strange metallic taste. It was inedible and sent back. Although I refused a replacement seafood dish, I was given their broccoli cheese soup as a replacement... because I don't eat beef or pork and didn't want more seafood or any chicken. Honestly, I was happy to not eat anything else and simply accepted it because it was insisted. I didn't eat it. My husband's steak had much fat and gristle... so much so he used his napkin to spit out gristle with every other bite or so. He too was disappointed. He didn't complain or send it back. He just ate what was edible. Two stars because our daughter enjoyed her meal and although service was slower this time, our server, Vangel, was very accommodating and professional as before. He's simply the best! Sadly , we won't be returning next year for what we thought was a new Christmas tradition.

This review is based on dinner and breakfast. Breakfast & Dinner- Both times- We were just a walk in. Hostess was not very friendly in the night. Hostess in the morning was great and friendly. Both our waiters morning and night were nice and very good. Place is classy and very nice. Steak- was great (New York Strip) Fries- awesome Chicken- was tasteless Sweet potato purée- good but less than a portion for a baby. Bread - sour bread is fresh and nice Tomato Soup- my wife and I both disagree- whether or not it was good. So we give it a 4 out of 5 Breakfast Wife did French toast- that was really good I did the buffet- Pancakes were tasteless Cafe con Leche- outstanding Pastries- delicious Eggs- were just ok Bacon- very good Potatoes- very tasting Cereal- not very good- tasted old I have no pictures of breakfast, but a decent experience.

Grilled Chicken Breast

10/10. This is a premium restaurant attached to the Ritz, so of course the service is great and the ambiance is elevated. However the food doesn't have to be good and it most definitely was. The filet was cooked perfectly and the chicken was juicy and well paired. Bread varieties as served before the meal and I especially liked the cornbread

We were there celebrating our engagement, and they made it feel so special by decorating our table with rings and confetti to celebrate our love. Our server gave us so much attention and made the experience feel personal. Since it was our first time there, they took the time to walk us through some of the best items on and off the menu, and shared their favorite dishes. Everything was done with care. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom was amazing, and the food was worth every dollar. The short rib was so tender, and the New York strip was seasoned to perfection and cooked medium well just how we like it. The twice-baked potato loaded with bacon, sour cream, chives, and cheese was delicious, and the mac and cheese was so good. I also appreciated that they allowed me to order it without the roasted saltine crackers. I can't wait to visit again!

Bones has old money vibes - for example, the receptionist referred to us as Mr. and Ms. which I felt like was very polite and again, traditional. We were celebrating my birthday, and they pre-decorated our table a little bit! We got special print-out menus that said "Happy Birthday" and the table had a little bit of confetti on it! It was a nice gesture to be welcomed with. Our server, Michael, was great at being attentive (without being overly attentive), and providing recs/answering our questions. We went with the Crab and Lobster Napoleon for our app, the Ribeye to split, and a side of their famous Hash Browns. Everything was very good!! I will let the pictures speak for themselves, but all the food comes out hot, fresh, and with good flavor. I really do recommend getting the Hash Browns - it sounds a little silly to order such a dish at a steakhouse, but try it for yourself :) All dishes have a good portion size so keep that in mind when ordering! While not pictured, I do have to give a shoutout to the complimentary bread service - their bread is real good. Hot and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside. Try not to get full off the bread alone. For dessert, Bones surprised us with literally the tallest and thickest slice of ice cream cake I've ever seen! My jaw dropped. I love ice cream cake and it was awesome to be treated to some!! I already thought that the table decorations and the special menu were enough to recognize my birthday, but this is the generosity of Bones. I will absolutely be returning some day! If not for the amazing food, then for the equally amazing hospitality! Thank you Bones for a wonderful birthday! Note: Complimentary valet parking ONLY. We asked the valet person if we could just park the car but we weren't allowed to. Bring some cash for a tip.

Fives across the board…read more Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.

Wanted to love it…read more The vibes are there, the staff is genuinely lovely, and there's real potential here, we just had a bit of an adventure getting through the meal. We had someone in our party with a gluten allergy, and our sweet server was doing his absolute best, bless. We were steered away from the tostadas as a starter due to gluten concerns, so we pivoted to guac...which then arrived with a gluten-free tostada. So the tostadas would have been totally fine! Then a good while after we'd all ordered, she was told her entrée had gluten and needed to be changed. She reordered, and almost immediately, the rest of the table's food came out. So we were left choosing between eating without her or letting everything go cold. And the plantains she'd reordered around, because she'd been told they couldn't be made gluten-free? Turns out they absolutely can be. Just miss after miss there. The spicy margarita was more of a margarita that once passed a jalapeño on the street. I asked for extra jalapeño juice and they were happy to help, but without the seeds and ribs it just couldn't deliver on the heat. I'd skip the margs next visit. This just wasn't quite the relaxed easy dinner we'd hoped for, and the price point feels like it's a step ahead of where the experience currently lands. But I'm rooting for them to get there!

It did not disappoint - in fact, it exceeded my expectations. First of all, Ken was an excellent server. He was paced, attentive, informative, and communicative throughout our experience. We were also celebrating our anniversary, and he and the staff made sure to make the occasion memorable (won't give away to keep it special for you). The food was amazing from beginning to end. First, the bread service was prompt, warm, soft, and served with ricotta. Next, the Ceasar salad was made next to where we sat - and to see them mixing the salads so meticulously down to mixing the dressing from scratch was one of the most amazing dining experiences I've had. I love a good Ceasar - and this was amongst the best. We also ordered the Oysters Marcel - and they were so fresh and bright. For our main course, my wife ordered the bone-in filet. It was cooked to perfection (medium rare - medium). I enjoyed redfish topped with Jump Lump Crab Oscar sauce (with crabs). Both proteins were amazing, but I was surprised by how perfectly cooked the fish was. Delectable. For sides, we enjoyed Cream Corn Gratin and Pommes Frites Béarnaise . Both were complementary of the proteins. The dessert was a 10-Layer Chocolate Cake. It was sooo good. Sweet but not too sweet. Good as it looks. Lastly, the ambiance was amazing. It was like stepping into a portal into a different space in time - almost made you forget we were in Atlanta. It's a bit dark inside - but a well lit darkness - just like I like it. Easy to see the entire space but also feel unseen (even though you are). Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone - although we made a pact to not take anyone from our circle. We want to keep this one for us. But hopefully this write up encourages a stranger to enjoy Marcel. Merci

Walking into Marcel, one is transported to another world. A moody, retro, classic world where…read morebowties are worn unironically in a setting that could best be described as a boxing gym renovated with industrial touches to become a steakhouse in the 1940s. That world could be anywhere. It could even be in Midtown West Atlanta. Service was impeccable. Servers knew we were celebrating our anniversary and were attentive and helpful when making tough menu choices. Pacing was definitely geared toward fine dining. 40 minutes between starters and entree was a BIT long, but it went by. Steak was wonderful (a porterhouse for 2), cooked to a perfect medium rare with seasoning appropriately calibrated to not overpower. East and west coast oysters were fresh and the Marcel salad to start was underdressed and lacked flavor (I enjoyed how they plopped a mound of bleu cheese on top to mix in; I pushed this aside which my server and I laughed about. He said he'd do the same. Maybe it's a sign). Hot bread service with a spreadable cheese and prosciutto was a nice touch. The French fries are probably the best I've ever had, and the asparagus was asparagus (slightly undersalted if anything). Chocolate cake was impressive in presentation but unremarkable for flavor and consistency. My wife enjoyed her decaf coffee as the best she's had at a restaurant, but her cocktail left something to be desired and was extremely tart. A Mexican coke was perfect enough for me. The pricing here is exorbitant. The price tag isn't necessarily a problem given the caliber of dining experience and ambiance that Marcel provides, but given some of the misses on staple items (namesake salad, "famous" chocolate cake), I'm not sure that value for dollar spent is present. In transparency, our dinner comprised of the above was over $400 with tip, which was aligned with expectations walking in the door. Whether the food stood up to the actual place and pricing is a debate. I lean toward an answer of "almost, but close enough not to be insulted." If a gun was pointed at my head to pick the "best steakhouse" in Atlanta, I'd pick Bones without thinking twice. This place is a close second probably, but places like Nowaks in Sandy Springs, while not the same echelon of formality, might have Marcel beat on flavor and definitely have Marcel beat on value for the dollar. Is Marcel's concept valid and well executed? Yes, without question. Would I want somebody else to pay if I returned? Yes, without question. 4.3/5 stars

I sat at the bar and had a little light banter with the bartender who is a brother looking to be in his late 30's-early 40's. When I asked about two fruity cocktails from the menu, he flat-out said he wasn't going to make them. That alone was off-putting. Trying to move forward, I asked what he specialized in, and he said he'd "come up with something." I agreed--but very clearly stated: no rum, because my body does not react well to it. After watching him make drinks for people who ordered after me, he eventually handed me a cocktail I never even saw him prepare. That already raised a flag. I took a few sips, and sure enough--my stomach immediately started reacting the exact way it does when I've had rum. When I asked what alcohol he used, he said, "I don't even know." That response alone tells you everything you need to know. At that point, I reminded him I specifically said no rum. Instead of taking accountability, he tried to argue and backtrack. Let me be clear--when a customer tells you not to use a specific liquor, you don't ignore it, guess, or "forget." That's basic service and basic respect. This situation completely threw off my evening, as I had plans afterward and ended up feeling sick. To make matters worse, I reached out to management and received no response. That lack of accountability speaks volumes. At the end of the day, this wasn't just a bad drink--it was careless service. This staff does not prioritize customer care, and that's a problem. If you choose to visit, be very direct, pay close attention, and don't assume your requests will be respected.
