So I heard a lot about this place and decided to go there since I was visiting from Texas.... if you have to describe this place in one sentence it would be " All that glitters is not gold". This place is extremely pricey.... when you go in there and order your food.... they give you some really nasty nachos as a starter. Then after 1 hour you finally get to see the face of your order..... very very slow service.... sometimes you ask yourself that are the employees really alive or are there dead people working as employees. Then finally after all this you get to taste your food and you realize that $18.00-$30.00 you paid for your food just got wasted. Food is extremely oily and heavy. In few bites you are fed up of the food. Please people if you really want to save your money and enjoy some really good food.... try other Resturant's nearby like Lahori Chilli, Bahar Masala, Gourmet and many more. I ordered a 7ounce well-done New York strip steak, and it was filling. The well-done was well-done They gave two sides as well, I had baked potato and Cesar salad because I had to be a little healthy. There's others choices as well, like the mashed potato was alright, fries were yum and crisp. My sis ordered short ribs and is was pretty good. My mom got that too but she wanted the back ribs, we just didn't know the difference, in shaa Allah next time. The grilled chicken sizzle was sooo flavorful. Seriously, everything in their menu is probably good. The food took a while to come out but that's expected. It was cold so we had to move our seats and go away from the door and to the back. This place did not disappoint when we needed to accommodate a group of eleven. They seat us right away and it's ok if there are a few late comers as they can easily slip into their seat, no questions asked. I was told Affy's is big on steak so I opted to get the ribeye with spicy peppercorn gravy, cooked medium rare. It took a bit of time for our food to show up but considering our large group and all the other parties on a Saturday night, it really wasn't too bad. Plus, they provide complimentary baskets of nacho chips coupled with chunky salsa. My steak came out medium rare as asked which isn't always the case in other restaurants. The sauce was awesome and I enjoyed my meal. It comes with two sides and I opted for mashed potatoes and a Cesar salad. There's no way you can go home hungry here! Very slow service always, even if it's just a bottled drink that you ordered. Most of the time the Ribs and sirloin are unavailable. It is far longer and wider in the back once you get inside. What stands out here for my friend who eats halal is eating a halal steak. My first time here I did order their steak: their steak is ok but nothing far amazing. There were bits of chewy fat that I didn't really enjoy too much in my steak and it was cooked a little more medium than I would have wanted. However, my friend did enjoy his steak much more than I wanted. They do give a rather large amount of sides of your choosing: fries, mashed potatoes or vegetables. Their side of fries are great but their vegetables are rather bland and taste simply steamed. Their soup of the day was a mushroom soup: it was tasty but a little small for $4. It was thick that the jalapeno pepper was completely raw and hard as a rock. That's not the way it's meant to be served. The bruschetta was also a sham! There were a few tomatoes bits and onions in a tiny plastic container that would hold about 1 tsp....that's what I got for 3 slices of cheese bread. I'll have to make my own in order to eat it. I have eaten at Affy's multiple times, each time hoping for a better outcome. I am saddened to leave a poor review especially since I love the food here. I went recently on a day when it wasn't crowded (1-2 other tables had people). We were seated and ordered our appetizers and drinks. 30 minutes go by still not an item on our table or acknowledgement from the wait staff. After 45 minutes another table was in the same situation as us and they told the waitress that their children were hungry and if they could get some chips. At that point they brought out chips and salsa for that family and my table too (from past experience they usually give complimentary chips and salsa. Looks like they forgot?) after 60 minutes my first appetizer comes out. Followed by our entrees 20 minutes later. They forgot to make one appetizer so I said to cancel it. And as for my drinks, I asked the waitress multiple times, she kept apologizing and said someone was going to make it (no one ever did). I cancelled that as well. Eating here is a truly aggravating experience. I will definitely never dine here again. The food is good though, maybe try takeout?
