More recently I asked him for an evaluation of our above ground pool for possible new liner and he was very helpful. We proceeded to have him install a new liner and while there was a problem initially Bruce made everything all right with no hassle. I find his prices competitive with the big pool stores, especially considering the excellent quality of the new liner and a new winter cover. I will never buy a liner or winter covers from one of those stores again. He is a gem of a small retail store owner.

This company takes pride in their work.

I have used LGB Pool Company for my opening and closing for 19 years. This year their customer…read moreservice quality has been nothing shy then unacceptable, the boys as Gardner refers to came on time to close the pool, my wife and I were in the water enjoying the last day of it being open. The lead guy suggested we can continue to enjoy the pool as it was a gorgeous pool day and said it was no problem for them to come later in the afternoon. When they failed to show up I contacted Gardner who was as rude as I ever heard him not only to me but to my wife as well, denying his employee ever said that, and as a result of the delay he was not able to come till 3 weeks later. My wife who usually never get involved with contractors simply could not bear to be subjected to his abuse and grabbed the phone to verify what we both heard earlier from his lead guy, after all if we were led to realize that it would have delayed the closing by 3 weeks we clearly would have got out of the pool and let them close it. Gardner's vulgar voice overpowered my wife's and he eventually hung up on us. What an incredible customer service oriented act. Needless to say I regarded this incident as the last encounter with this company. In short to sum things up, I strongly advise anyone to refrain from subjecting yourselves to this horrible abuse. Stay away from doing business with Gardner and LGB.

He was very thoughtful about how to go about it with minimum summer downtime for our pool. He ordered the liner based on the size and specs of our pool. Many of the other pool services required us to order the liner ourselves. I was reluctant to do that because I don't know the first thing about liners and the companies that make them. I was thankful that a pro handled that. The new liner was installed while we were away on vacation. It was great to return to a freshly lined pool ready for swimming. I would definitely do business with Solar Pool service again.

DO NOT HIRE JIM JANSEN / SOLAR POOLS…read more YOU'VE BEEN WARNED I don't normally write reviews like this, but after months of being ignored and disrespected, it's time the public knows , especially those who recommended him as a friend, businessman and he does this , hmmmmm!!!!!!!! This is who your dealing with., very cowardly if you ask me...... In 2024, I hired Jim Jansen of Solar Pools to install a new inground liner. During that job, his team broke one of the pool lights, left it hanging in the water, wires exposed and floating like a jellyfish. Not only was it a safety hazard, but it was also a clear act of Ill just blame someone else and tell them Its not my fault , tell them ill fix it but never fix it. At first, Jim made every excuse imaginable, blamed the original installers, the equipment, the situation, everyone but himself. He even rigged the broken light back in place as a temporary "fix," clearly just to buy time. Eventually, after exhausting all his excuses, he admitted responsibility and agreed to repair it. I have every message, every confirmation, and every promise in writing. The light looks as if it actually ended up Seizing , after him and his crew continued to pull on wiring and whatever else they tried to do to "fix it temporarily " In April 2025, Jim responded when I asked him to schedule the repair. He told me to let him know when the pool was open. I did exactly that. Since then? Radio silence. No response to texts, no returned calls. Nothing. This isn't just poor service, t's negligence. It's the kind of behavior that raises serious legal and ethical concerns. Jim had every opportunity to resolve this the right way. Instead, he chose to vanish, hoping I'd go away. That was a mistake. Let this review be your warning: Jim Jansen is all smiles until something goes wrong. Then he disappears. If you're considering hiring Solar Pools, think twice. There are plenty of reputable professionals in this industry, Jim is NOT one of them. Sincerely Disgusted, Chris Caporale
