So, here I am again trying to give a local business another shot and left disappointed and in disbelief. I bought a robot to clean our pool last year from them. This isn't a review about the robot but the lack of support and sheer dishonesty of this business. From lies to unethical price gauging ($150 for 10 pounds of shock...seriously!!!). Back to the problem, my robot ends up malfunctioning and per the company I have to bring the robot to a certified dealer to get it fixed....that certified dealer is A1 pools. Well go there and the girl tells me it will be a couple of days, she has to run a diagnostic on it and worse case scenario I should get it back in a week or two. I'm good with that, and end up buying another robot to clean my pool (good thing I did). 3 weeks later, multiple phone calls, and an in person visit only to see that robot was sitting on the same shelf and no one did anything to it. Answer I received was the company was not returning their phone calls. Ok, no problem it happens gave them a sample of pool water and then hear from same girl that they couldn't test our water. It was the weekend, so whatever went to another pool store got my results, bought the chemicals I need and pool is all dialed in. Call later in the week and no one returns my call. I call the robot company directly and they tell me they have no service record regarding my robot. In other words, no one has called them and filed a warranty claim. Company immediately sends me a new controller, because the controller on the new robot broke after the first day of use, and sent it over night. They also send a box and prepaid mailing slip to send my broken robot back to them. This phone call took less than 10 minutes. The robot is shipped and will hopefully be returned in 5 business days if not they will send me a new one. Why you ask? Because of my experience at A1 pools. Robot company 10 stars...A1 pools would get -stars if I could rate that. Good news is I will never have to write another Yelp review about them again . If you're in trouble don't go here they will take advantage of you and figure out a way to take the money out of your wallet and put it into their register. read more

Could not be happier with Mario and his crew when they installed my inground pool 5 years ago (which includes compliance with department of engineering and wetlands sign off for town of Trumbull) and subsequent pool openings and closing, etc. My pool was complete on time and with excellent attention to detail with the add ons of spa and rock waterfall and slide. Mario and his team is extremely professional and delivered quality service and products. Mario was also super helpful post install questions regarding operation, service and maintenance especially since as a single mom/woman homeowner, maintenance of an inground pool does not come natural and I had plenty of questions; especially during COVID where pool installs became every so popular and I realize his business was extremely busy. Most unprofessional experience I've ever had two years thousands of dollars still no pool!There installation was a Joke and the support and help there was and is none!!Rip off Well now they called back would be here in couple hours then call said got another call be after 3 probably a mistake letting him back on property he really messed up original installation had to redo whole deck because he wasn't smart enough to set pool in right!But I'm positive he'll be blameless in his mind ! Went there on multiple occasions this year to correct our pool water problems, with samples to ensure they were on the same page. Each time we when they said "Oh you have high levels of X,Y and Z and sold us more expensive chemicals. Never correcting our pool water problems. Finally at wits end, we ask them to come out and fix it. We set a day for them to come out,But they never came out. Never left a message, or anything. We went down to figure it out. When confronting the manager about this horrible experience, he didn't care. So Why should you care about giving a business that doesn't care about their customers. Three summers ago when we purchased our house we hired A-1 Pools to open the pool. Payment upfront of course. The men came, took off the cover, poured chemicals in, put the stairs in and then told me they couldn't do anymore because there was a rip in the liner and there was rust around where the filter hooked up to. We were told to call Mario and he would give us a price to fix the pool. I stopped in a few days later and the clerk told me that Mario said if we happened to call to tell us our pool was no good and it needed to be replaced. He gave me a quote of over $6,000. My husband decided to put the small patch that was needed on himself and then hooked up the filter. The reason that I am reviewing this company today is because here we sit, beside the same "no good" pool 3 years later with the same small patch on the liner watching the pool run perfectly. read more

Avoid getting a pool from them at all costs. Pools are vastly overpriced, they will not install the options you chose or discussed and will put up a fuss about it or give some excuse if you complain. If you order a new pool in the spring don't expect it to be finished in time for the summer. Was originally quoted at 2-3 weeks and it was well over 9 weeks, with there being large gaps (sometimes as long as a week and a half) with no one showing up to work on the pool. read more
