This company puts customer service first. I hired Aquatic for my inground pool 14x30. Before signing contract, Tom (owner) explained everything to me about construction and lawn damage. It was all common sense being that they are digging a massive hole in my yard. Safety was always first, they used a heavy grade temporary fencing around the pool until the project was finished. During construction they went over settling and why they won't be back for awhile, again common sense. If it didn't settle my pavers would sink within a year. When completed Ralph did what he calls pool school and went over everything and made sure I understood. Jose is an exceptional service guy he had to come out for my railing and pool cover. Everyone is the North Branford store goes above and beyond for you. I dont use them for service, I open and close the pool. I do get my products for them and have my water tested. I have tried other products from cheaper stores, not the same. My pool looks great with there products. Overall a great company to do business with. read more

And they don't assume I am made out of money! I've always been offered a spectrum of options of how to deal with problems affordably, explaining the pros and cons of each approach. We have had very poor service from this company. The install of the pool left our yard far more destroyed than we were told it would be, and the the filter was left in the dirt. When I called to complain the owner came out and made them come back and fix the filter and put it on a concrete slab as it should have been. Had them out last year to clean the filter and check the PSI bc it was high. They did the cleaning, PSI went down, 2 weeks later it was back up. Concerned, I called and they came back out and checked everything and cleaned the filter AGAIN, then told us we needed a new carriage. They proceeded to bill me AGAIN! I called and they agreed to take away the charge because they should have told me I needed a new cartridge when they came the first time. I then had them back to close the pool. My husband was home, when he came down to check in they were gone & the cover was on with holes in it. The holes are not the fault of the company, but I assumed it was fine because they didn't notify us that the cover was damaged. I don't close the pool, I have always used Aquatic to do this, so I assumed it was fine. I WAS WRONG!!!!! We opened the pool last week and it is green and filthy!! The new company used said it was because of the holes. I called Aquatic (they were supposed to get back to me the next day, I had to call a week later because nobody responded to my call) and they said it was my fault, and the people who came out to close the pool did their job. I will no longer use their services, as I told the customer service representative I spoke to. I do not recommend this company at all!! read more

During the busy season the staff at aquatic had been slammed with business especially during the pandemic when everyone wanted a pool. I have been in the store when customers have been very rude, even aggressive towards the staff and they have all responded with respect and with concern for the safety of their employees. I have had no issues with any of my services or water testing. I follow the directions and my pool is SPARKLING! When I have had small issues with my pool (a little cloud here and there from inclement weather) they gave me the guidance to clear it up. I was charged $55 for a rubber filter O ring that I later saw online for $15. Went back to correct what I thought had to be a mistake. Was told by the manager, Nick: "No mistake, that's the price." After a couple back and forths, he escalated: "I don't have time to argue with you over an O ring, what do you want?!" (I was the only customer there). How about 50% off? (You know, so I only pay double what others charge). "Fine!" He snapped. Bought our pool there. Spent $10,000+. Clerks: courteous. Mngr Nick: arrogant, unconcerned, flippant. Prices? Ridiculous. I have been a customer of Aquatic Pool & Spa Services, Inc. for over 20 years. They did a great job installing my pool and have been good over the years, until now. I called weeks ago inquiring about replacing the liner on my pool and was told the person I needed to talk to wasn't there but he'd call me back. No call back. Nothing. I called again the other day and the phone rang, then went to voicemail which was full and hung up on me. So I resorted to calling the Guilford store. Was told by the Guilford person they'd call me back by end of day yesterday but they didn't. So I then called and left another message with a young lady in Northford. Oddly enough the Guilford guy called me today (but it was by accident - he thought he was calling someone else). But instantly remembered me because we talked yesterday. He told me I'd need to wait until June 7 for someone to even look at my liner, AND apparently you don't even do that work. So I have a pool I bought from you I can't use. Very frustrating. You cared about me when I bought the pool, but I don't feel like you care about me as a customer now. read more

All of my experiences with Aquatic Pool& Spa have been EXCELLENT. They found where my inground pool had a hole in the liner a few years back and it got us a few more years out of the liner before it needed to be replaced and that definitely saved us money. Last year they closed my pool and when I opened it this year it was ready to go. I mean I could have swam then and there (had the water not been 70 degrees). If I could give a negative I would!!! Aquatics is probably the worst pool company We had them refinish our gunite pool. First, they subbed the work out without telling us. People just showed up and started working. After the work was completed and the pool water back in the material they put on started falling off into the pool. I couldn't get the owner to come out though we live 15minutes away from their store. He basically would not deal with our situation. The same crew came out and had to drain the entire pool in the back of our yard for the 2nd time. They refinished the pool and put the water back in. The job they did was horrible. The bottom of the pool is All different shades. The sides where the plaster meets the tiles is all uneven. There is no plaster in areas near the tiles. The hot tub seats have large pumps on the seat. They plastered over valves and some had large gaps with no plaster. We called and called and the owner would not do anything. He wouldn't call back. Finally his foreman came out and said what a horrible job they did and would rectify. That was over a year ago and nothing. I have threatened legal action and nothing. Refinishing a pool is over $15k so not cheap. We will have to pay again with someone reputable to redo the work . Awful experience. DO NOT GO HERE FOR POOL WORK!!!! read more

Do not contract with Aquatic Pool and Spa (located in CT) for chemicals or service. Their pattern is to ignore requests to address small, repairable issues so that they can charge much more for substantial fixes down the road. This happened several times when they ignored my requests to drain a near-overflowing pool during the winter months when the pump was normally down (I had a year-long service contract). As a result, the liner popped out in several places before the May opening. By September, service and chemicals (another expensive story) had cost more than three mortgage payments combined. (That's about $150.00 per swim!) This year, I've signed up for service with another CT company and am much happier. I've also invested in a submersible pump! read more

We just purchased a house with a pool and have never had a pool before. The water was low so we called Aquatic pool for help. They insisted they should come out to inspect the liner and after the inspection told us everything was good and to fill the pool. We filled it with 13,000 gallons of water (paid $600 for 2 truck loads) and the water drained out in 48 hours. When I called them they told me we had a hole in the liner (obviously). They said they would help but they passed my info to another company!!! We never heard from them again!!! Do not waste your time with this company! read more

I have been a customer for years but this past year I am very disappointed in their service. They gave me an estimate on a pool heater that was $900. more expensive the actual cost of the heater. When they were questioned about this I was told that they could come down on the price of the heater but would then have to increase the labor charge. Why would the cost of labor increase???
