We hired AFD Movers for a local move, including packing and moving. We found the crew to be careful and hard working, but there were also a few problems. The good: The crew was hard-working and mostly pretty careful. We especially thought they did a good job assembling, moving, and disassembling our furniture. They showed up on time, were receptive to feedback, and completed the move in a reasonable amount of time. The bad (1): AFD uses the word "free" a little too freely in their marketing. They will say things like "free packing" or "free furniture disassembly", but what they really mean is that they charge the same as any other moving company -- you pay for time and materials. Personally I think this is straight--up false advertising. The bad (2): There were a few other minor problems. They didn't do a great job packing our art or plants (just threw them in a box) and some of these items suffered minor damage. Also none of the crew spoke great English, so communications were sometimes difficult. Overall, If we were going to move again, we would consider AFD again but wouldn't automatically use them. If we did hire them again we would expect to pay for packing materials and probably give a little more feedback about our expectations when it comes to art and plants. read more

I'm so glad we ended up going with AFD movers. Tim and his crew arrived promptly, worked extremely quickly, and were careful and thoughtful with our belongings. I was especially concerned with moving our belongings out of our old place, because we have asbestos ceilings, but they were very careful not to disturb it. Tim and his crew were super nice and accommodating, and kept suggesting ways they could help that I wasn't even planning on-- like boxing up loose things we hadn't gotten around to packing, and arranging/rearranging furniture in the new place. They moved our VERY full 2-bedroom apartment and storage unit fully into our new place in just over 3 hours. The cost was very reasonable and cheaper than other quotes I got. Andrew & Jim from AFD Movers arrived on time & they made sure that everything was shrink wrapped with blankets so that none of the furniture would get damaged. They were both extremely efficient and professional. The job was done in just 4 hours and there was a TON of things to move (washer/dryer/fridge/desks/beds/etc). They assemble and dissassemble furniture quickly and move heavy items around like it's easy! I would highly recommend Andrew & Jim to everyone looking to move in the IE/OC area!!! This was a very pleasant experience! I had no one to help me move my things from a ground level room & transfer something's into storage. I also had to take something's out of storage & have them placed in a 2nd level room. They were very efficient! I was extremely stressed! I used AFD movers to move from Orange County to Temecula. They arrived on time as scheduled. A nice touch is that they used an app to sign contracts, start and stop time, calculate drive time, so there was no haggling over that stuff. I got a great crew of 3 guys who were young and fit. They moved very quickly while taking very good care of my belongings. They helped disassemble and reassemble my bedframes, and carefully wrapped my other furniture. The provided plenty of wardrobe boxes for all of our clothes. They did a tremendous job organizing the truck so all my belongings fit. I needed an upright piano moved 6 miles in town, no staircases involved (ground level to ground level). They asked for $500!? Seriously?! No, thank you. What a rip off! They do much more than moving from point A to point B! We used this company in the past to move from one house to another but then decided to renovate so hired them again to load a POD. These guys know what they are doing! They were able to utilize every inch of space and managed to get our whole home and garage into the POD.
