It was either ride the dang coaster, or irritate the people who set up the trip, so I went. Holy cats! Alpine coasters are super fun! You kind of feel like you're going to fly off the tracks during the ride, but you won't. It seems safe enough, and the ride goes by so fast (it's definitely less than 10 minutes). Before you know it, you're done and wish you could go again. (I didn't, but I'm sure kids would.) You can control the speed, which is nice. At one point, I was feeling wild and crazy, and let it fly and zipped around the track at full speed. I visited with a small group on a weekday, and there was zero wait to start riding. But from my observations, Pigeon Forge's coaster game be poppin' off. I feel like there are mountain coasters everywhere I look. This city is lousy with mountain coasters. Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster is the only coaster that I know of in the area where you can race side-by-side. That's really cool! I know that if I visited this coaster with my children, they definitely would have wanted to race, because they're competitive little people. Me? I could not care less about racing anyone -- I just don't want to fly off of a coaster and die. And I didn't! So in that sense, I guess I'm the winner. Like the other coasters that you'll find in Pigeon Forge, you can control the speed. You can go really slow or super fast. I chose somewhere in between, and my ride was really fun. I didn't think I was a coaster gal, but being in Pigeon Forge really warmed me up to the coaster life. Mountain coasters are really fun, I will admit. I visited Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster during the weekday, and there was no line. We got on very quickly. The inside of the building has racing paraphernalia, which is neat.

It's really fun and fast. When we went, there was no wait at all. I found out that my son was too short to drive, so we had to ride in tandem. Even in tandem, you still have to pay for an adult and kid ticket. Because there was no wait, the lady cut me a deal. My son was free if I paid for a 3-ride ticket! Upon riding, my son liked the blue track the best. I lost my hat on the red track but the manager went up and got it for me on the same visit. What customer service!! Definitely would recommend this alpine coaster!

The mountain coaster was a lot of fun, had a short wait, and was only about $15. My favorite part, though, was feeding the goats on the roof! You buy goat food inside the gift shop for about $3 a cup, ($1 refill) pour it into a bowl, then pedal a bike that carries the food up a conveyor to the rooftop. The goats are already waiting, and it's hilarious watching them compete for the food. It's a unique experience that's fun for both kids and adults. Definitely worth the stop!

There was so much to see, do, and explore, and every activity seemed to be a hit with our group. The kids were entertained the entire time, moving from one experience to the next and having an absolute blast. There were only a couple of rides they weren't quite tall enough for, but with so many other activities available, it really didn't take away from their experience at all. One thing we especially appreciated was being able to leave in the middle of the day to grab lunch and then come back to enjoy more. That made the day so much easier with four kids! We returned and finished up with laser tag and a few other activities, which was the perfect way to end our visit. I really loved how much variety WonderWorks offered. There was something for every age in our group, and we never felt like we were struggling to keep anyone entertained. It's not always easy to find an attraction that keeps kids of different ages equally excited, but WonderWorks absolutely delivered! If you're visiting Pigeon Forge with kids, I highly recommend adding WonderWorks to your plans. Between the amount of stuff included in the ticket, the chance to replay laser tag and rides as much as you want, I honestly don't understand how anyone could rate this less than 5 stars. If you show up early, plan a few hours, and take advantage of the discount, it's one of the best values in Pigeon Forge. Try to plan the trip in the off season as it is nowhere near as crowded as it was doing the summer where it was too crowded to stand in line to get in. They also offered some fun twists at about 5 or 6 holes where they had a spinner that each player would twirl before their turn and wherever it landed you had to complete what it said. Upon going, it certainly is neither! Taking a cable car up from the main street in Gatlinburg transports you to a perfect viewing platform up in the middle of incredible views, autumn breezes and mountain top fun. Some of our highlights were the lookout tower even higher up within Anakeesta for some breathtaking views, the tree top trail at night to see the firefly experience and the theming and all around vibe of the Octoberfest style festival. The firefly experience was worth our visit alone, where we had a fully immersive experience walking high on the rope bridges at night amongst the trees with a massive audio and visual production that was captivating from start to finish!

We started our day by taking the gondola up the mountain. The line was long but moved surprisingly fast! If you're afraid of heights, the mountain rises along with you, so it doesn't feel like such a huge drop. Coming back down at night was especially gorgeous with all the city lights! There was so much to enjoy, including shopping, live music, and amazing mountain views! Some of our group participated in the beer tasting, which I believe included 5-6 drinks for around $25, pretty great deal. I especially loved the skybridge and all the beautiful overlooks! It was definitely crowded, but we likely visited during peak hours. Some of our group even enjoyed Anakeesta more than Dollywood! The ride gets surprisingly fast, reaching around 30-35 mph, which makes it exciting without feeling like you're just slowly going around a track. The speed is definitely one of the best parts, and it makes the whole ride a lot more fun. One of the biggest advantages is the pricing. It's normally $25 per person, but during October, kids under 9 can ride for free, which is a great deal for families visiting during the fall season. Even better, your ticket lets you ride as many times as you want until the coaster closes for the day. If you enjoy the ride, you can keep going back for another round without having to pay for every individual ride. The main downside is that the lines can get pretty long, so you might spend a decent amount of time waiting. The actual ride only lasts around 3-4 minutes, which can feel a little short when you've been standing in line for a while. However, being able to ride unlimited times helps make up for that, especially if you plan your visit when it's less crowded. Overall, I had a great time at Ripley's Mountain Coaster. The speed makes it exciting, and the unlimited-ride ticket is a big plus. The October deal for younger kids is especially nice for families, too.
