We knew there was a risk of the job costing more than quoted because of shoddy materials from the previous roofer being used and Chad, our sales contact, was up front about that from the get go. We didn't end up using their financing but the process to apply was quick and simple. Then they had their gutter contractor come out to replace our gutters as well and they look wonderful (and work which is what matters most!). While there were issues, concerns or miscommunications we were always contacted quickly by Chad or Frank, their foreman, and walked through the problem with as much care as possible. Got a auto text at 5 that "name" was on his way soon. Got a call at 6 from ..., that apologized for the delay but he had just got our appointment assigned to him. He thought he was done on the last job and had to go back to the shop which was 20 minutes away. Which meant another 40 to get to our house. I agreed but asked about a discount. He said I needed to call whoever called me earlier. I called and they checked with dispatch. Supposedly dispatch said I had already received at $15 discount and no more would be given. The $15 is their "back to school" discount offered to everybody. I said it was unacceptable and she sent message to manager. General manager called back at 6:20. Explained the situation. He said "it had been a hell of a day" and that the driver had a flat tire. I said "well that's interesting as this was the third excuse I had heard, all completely different." I again told him I was sorry they were having issues but we were now at 2 hiurs past our scheduled arrival and again asked abut a discount". He said we can come tomorrow for $99. That is the discount they are offering for new customers. I declined, let him know I felt disrespected and lied to and he had lost a customer. He said ok. I declined service and he hung up. As of 6:40 he was still scheduled to arrive at 7:06. We went to dinner.
