- My sump pump failed, flooding my basement. I contacted PowerDry for water mitigation, and on July 28, a representative named PJ visited, inspected the damage, and provided me a written bid of $7,712 to $11,079. PJ made several assurances: that the final invoice would likely fall at the lower or middle range of the bid based on his evaluation, that they would work with my insurance company (Traveler's, which has a $10,000 limit for sump pump claims), and that they would do their best to ensure I would not pay out of pocket for mitigation and restoration. Relying on these statements, I proceeded with PowerDry. - After the work was completed, I was shocked to receive an invoice for $13,056--well above the signed bid maximum of $11,079. When I asked for clarification on why the costs were nearly double the lower range initially promised, they could not provide a clear explanation. They admitted there were no unforeseen complications or delays but simply repeated that the charges were "industry standard." This directly contradicted PJ's assurances and the written bid, creating a strong impression of misleading and opportunistic practices during an emergency. -Additionally, during removal of the basement trim, PowerDry caused damage to my drywall that was unrelated to the water damage. When I requested they repair or take responsibility for the damage, they refused, claiming they were not liable. -I feel misled and exploited at a vulnerable time. PowerDry used reassuring promises to secure my business, only to inflate costs beyond the bid and refuse accountability for damages they caused. Their conduct feels like bait-and-switch tactics, prioritizing profit over honesty and customer trust. Had some water damage & my insurance suggested Power Dry. My first time using this company and I'd say it was a good experience. All employees were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Dan Williams did a great job explaining the process to me. Braden Schuetz and the tech with him (sorry I don't remember his name) set up the equipment quickly and pointed out what did what. Sean Iwamoto removed everything and was in & out before I knew it. All 3 men made sure that I had no questions or concerns before they left. During our time of need this company came to treat water damage and one of their employees decided to take pictures of "personal" items and other things that had nothing to do with the work they were doing. THEN...the company was so negligent that they sent the inappropriate photos to our insurance rep because "no one reviewed the information." We felt so violated that they would come into our home and do something like this during our time of need. I attempted to work with them even after this and they did not uphold their end of the bargain. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY because who knows what else they took pictures of without our knowledge. Already had to get lawyers to deal with insurance and now have to get them involved to deal with these people. Do not use this company! The job they did on getting the water dried up was ok. They were rough on my walls when taking off baseboards in some areas. The real issue is they quoted me $8900 to build back the damaged portions when the people who had done my carpet before did it for $3046 and the baseboards were done for $400. Being in a situation where time is of the essence you are a bit bent over the barrel and they realize that. They were shocked that I told them I was going with someone else to build back. They told me they normally do the whole thing. If you have to use their services immediately be calling someone else to get quotes on the build back. I'm fairly certain you'll save yourselves thousands. Nothing worse than someone that gouges you in such a situation. read more

This company is TERRIBLE. Came into our home and took pictures of personal things that were not even in the areas affected. Literally moved out items out of there way only for them to go in the room and take a close up picture anyways. THEN they send an invoice to us for $6995 when I signed off on $4600. I left for 15-20 minutes to grab my children from school, to find out I am missing cash and some of my wife's jewelry from inside of our bedroom. Cleaned up after a toilet clogged and flooded bathroom and basement. Did a sufficient job.

Had a small sewage backup and plumber suggested Power Dry to cleanup the basement floor after the plumber fixed the backup. They came the same day, priced the job and on my approval, started the work immediately and completed it that day. Equipment left behind for 2 days did the job of drying out the residue and air in the basement. People who did the work were friendly and took precautions to protect upstairs space during their ingress and egress from front door and basement. Equipment left behind was picked up by them at the appointed time. Have used them before and will again if needed. read more

Had a fantastic experience with Power Dry. The sewers backed up on our street and we ended up with several inches of sewer water in our basement. Our crawl space had a leak and it made a big water mess. The staff were wonderful and worked all day. First pulling bags and bags of insulation, had to pull up our linoleum in a section of our dining room and washroom area. We have blowers and dehumidifiers in under the house and in the house. It is rather loud, lol but needed to dry everything out. They got the call and was out here in less then half an hour. They were very professional and answered all my concerns. I don't have enough good things to say about this company. Full stop. 45 minutes after I discovered my water heater had bottomed out--flooding my entire basement with 40 gallons of water--the pros from Power Dry were on the scene and getting me squared away. No fuss, no muss. They tore up carpet, rearranged my basement, set up fans and dehumidifiers and were done in less than six hours. Generally were timely and communicative. Did the job and things seemed dry in the end. There seemed to be a lot of confusion on whether my carpet padding could be saved or should be attempted to be saved and some "he said he said" with me over whether it should be saved when I was entrusting them to be the experts on the matter. Also often heard along the lines of "it's your house do what you want". It's my house but I'm paying to have the experts in drying/cleanup to know what can be done. Ultimately the pad was removed. It's an expensive bill and I understand paying more for the knowledge ( the work seemed minimal a couple hours total to set up a few fans, dehumidifiers, pry a few baseboards off, and boxcut out some carpet padding ) but if I'm paying that much for knowledge I'd like to be confident they know what they're doing and not have arguments with me and each other over who said what c should be done. read more

If you are one of those unfortunate people out there who happen to own a home and can't call a landlord to fix your troubles, you tend to rely on certain groups of people to help you out when daily living in your home goes south. Take for instance, a 3-year-old in a 2nd floor bathroom with plenty of toilet paper and a toilet that will not stop running. The power of water is an awesome sight to behold, but when it comes dripping and pouring through your 1st floor ceiling, your shock and awe tends to belong more to the panic variety than wonder and amazement. For those of you who have not had this life experience, I offer these sage bits of experiential wisdom: 1) don't panic, 2) shut off the water, 3) get towels and mops, 4) call a plumber, 5) pray (can't hurt), and 6) call Power Dry. My family was the victim of just such an incident this past week, and needless to say you do feel rather helpless and worried when you see an upstairs bathroom turn into a sequel of "A River Runs Through It". Sooner rather than later, you are going to want to call professionals who can get to scene and help alleviate the moisture problem, for fear of mold setting in. That's where Power Dry comes in. We were fortunate enough to be home when this happened, so the damage was contained fairly readily. Our insurance agent (State Farm) recommended Power Dry, as they were a preferred provider for these types of situations. Although our guys were way over in Missouri on another case at the time we called, they got to our house as quick as possible and were able to start hooking up industrial blowers and dehumidifiers relatively quickly. The whole process probably took just under an hour. They were very methodical and certainly gave the impression that they had seen these situations many times before and knew what to do. The sound of several blowers and dehumidifers can be rather disturbing ... sort of like living on the tarmack at KCI. But you do what you have to do. After 48 hours, they were able to come back and take most of the equipment out, and another 48 hours later we were cleared to have all of the remaining equipment removed. The guys who provided service to us were friendly, knowledgable, and even dealt well with our excited 3-year-old daughter. I don't recommend going out of your way to try and find an excuse to get the Power Dry folks over to your domicile anytime in the foreseeable future, but if you need them, they are a great bunch of guys and ladies to have on your side in a tough situtation. If you have water damage, Power Dry should be the second call you make after speaking with your homeowners insurance agent. We were referred 4 companies from the insurance company. One company hadn't set up their voicemail -- pass. The next call was "this is Bob go ahead and leave me a message" -- pass. The third was fine except they needed to call back before they could schedule us. With Power Dry the customer service rep was warm, informative, and efficient. She told me they could be there in an hour and we live 30 mins from KC. I was sent an email with a short video explanation of the process and a picture of the supervisor who was on their way to assess the damage. When he showed up the first thing he said was "I'm so sorry you're dealing with this". Next a couple techs showed up with fans and equipment. They were upfront, efficient, and trustworthy. We had plans for the evening and they locked up after we had left. I will update regarding the results but I didn't want to forget to review bc I almost never do. They were worth it!! Good guys! We had a huge water leak in our garage from the master bathroom above it. I was recommended these guys by the plumber who fixed the leak. They first send out an estimator who will give you a quote and then you can decide if you want to use them. (I was cautioned that not all water remediation companies do this. Some make you commit to having the work done and then bill you). I asked our estimator if there would be additional costs If there were any problems or additional damage discovered after work started and he said nope, this is a final bid! True to his word, there were no extra charges! The guys came out and removed the damaged drywall and insulation and cleaned the whole floor where the mess was. They installed dehumidifiers and fans and left them for a day and came back out and checked how it was going, then left the equipment there for another two days before removal. I'm confident that the area was bone dry by the time they left, even in July/August humidity! The guys who performed the work were all clean cut and polite and I didn't feel uncomfortable having them in the garage or my home. read more
