We highly recommend Foundation 1 for your foundation repair. As background: We had foundation settlement in three areas of our house. One was the garage, which also had issues with the concrete pad supporting the steel support pole for second floor bedrooms. We selected Foundation 1 and two other companies to look at our problems, offer their solutions, and bid. All three companies had good reviews and are established companies in the community. All three bids were comparable in measurements of the settling that had occurred and with the final price of the work to be completed. The three companies had somewhat similar solutions, but differed on pier types, pier locations, number of piers needed, and on the way some things would be stabilized (especially the support pole in the garage). It was very difficult for us to pick the best fit since all these processes were new to us. Therefore, we decided to hire an independent structural PE (Professional Engineer) to review the bids and solutions. In general, the PE agreed with most methods, materials, and locations of piers of the three companies, but did have some recommendations for each company's proposal. Also the PE had a couple of "You can't do this properly with this type of pier or with a location; you don't need this number of piers, etc.". After reviewing the PE's report with all three companies, we felt Foundation 1 addressed the PE's recommendations the best and welcomed the input from the PE. Now that the work is complete and we have seen Foundation 1 in action, we are extremely comfortable we made the right choice of the company to fix our foundation. The work took a little under eight full days to complete. Each day the crew head and his crew showed up on time, worked continuously all morning until lunch, and worked continuously from end of lunch until the end the day. Each member of the crew knew exactly what his/her job was and how to do it. The crew head, Pilar, worked alongside his crew while checking in with each during the day to make sure all was going as planned. He would always answer my questions and let me know when the crew was ready to leave so I could shut the garage doors and lock our gates. Every member of the crew worked so hard, were very polite to us, and were so neat in the areas where work was being done, whether it was concrete being jack hammered or dirt being piled up from the huge holes they were digging. The work really didn't disrupt us at all. Every night when the crew left, tools were put into our garage and the outside and inside areas of our house were left as clean and neat as possible. We felt so comfortable with the crew and left the house in their hands at times to get lunch or to run some errands. We had 17 piers total installed under the footings, both exterior and interior of the house. We also had Poly fill injected through concrete in the areas where piers were installed to fill voids under the concrete slabs which had shifted downward. All holes dug up, all concrete removed, and all holes in concrete for the Poly injections were filled and left almost the way they were before work was started. Foundation 1 is an outstanding company. Today, they finished repairing my cracked foundation and bowed wall in less time than estimated. Despite finding obstacles like solid rock around my foundation, they quickly excavated a trench, installed a drain, straightened and waterproofed the wall, refilled the trench, and braced the interior wall. The foreman also found that my sump pump was installed improperly and would not function. He and his crew resolved that problem without adding more time to the schedule. Every employee I dealt with was professional and helpful. The estimators understood what I needed and provided the requested information, even while on vacation. The office staff was flexible in meeting my scheduling needs and kept me informed at each step in the process. The crew was excellent; each person knew his job and performed it quickly and professionally, despite the July heat. They left my basement cleaner than they found it. The work exceeded my quality expectations. The company owner stopped by at the end of the project to verify that everything was complete and that I was satisfied with their work. I am more than satisfied; I am thrilled with the job they did and happy that it is compete. The middle support poles in my house were sinking causing damage in multiple rooms in my homes. I consulted several companies about it. None of these companies understood the underlying issue. Putting support piers underneath support poles is a very problematic issue. Foundation 1 used a unique method they developed to push up the house beam and place a continuous support pole that runs all the way from bedrock to the house beam. I am completely comfident in it. Sorry that I forgot the names, but I do want to mention that the work of the three man crew was exemplarary. The forman was an excellent communicator who bent over backwards to make sure everything was right with us. A mistake was made in that a support pole ended up to long. But they made it right by removing it, taking it to the shop and cutting it shorter. Mistakes will be made but if a company corrects it (without just trying to convince you it is OK as is) then it's all good. read more

I used DmFoundation 1 for grading and adding dirt along my foundation to create proper drainage away from the house. From the front office staff to Billy who assessed what was needed to Brandon and the crew who did the work, I appreciated their professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail. When I had to postpone the job , they worked with me to get it rescheduled as soon as possible. I also had dirt spread over some recent excavation work, and Billy communicated with Brandon about what exactly needed to be done. I have had work done by them several times. First, an egress window was added to my home so I could make a 3rd bedroom in my basement. Second I had some downspouts buried and drainage so that the water would stop coming in my home. They also referred me to a great gutter company they work with and explained why I should contact them re my gutters. I appreciated the fact that they could actually give me a referral for what I needed that they couldn't do for me. I plan on having my driveway polyjacked by them this fall. While I don't look forward to needing to work with them again because it means more problems in my house, I definitely will if needed and will refer them to anyone. We had a mudjacking job scheduled for last Friday morning, Foreman Cameron Green came on time and evaluated the issue we are having. After careful consideration Cameron informed me that we did not need mudjacking and that to complete this job would be a waste of our hard earned money. Foundation 1 installed a French drain and repaired an egress window at our home in Lenexa. The work started on time, ended on time and was done in a very professional manner. Questions were answered by the crew chief in a courteous and understandable manner. We had a couple of issues with our sprinkler system after they were done. The operations manager and one of the founders of the company both came out to fix the issues the same day I reported them. I was getting some water in the corner of the finished basement. There was a visible crack on the outside in the same area. Foundation 1 can patched the wall and sealed it. Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem. Billy can out again and suggested an interior water drainage system and discounted the amount I paid for the outside work. So far, so good!! read more
