Having lived in this house with a walkout basement for about 20 years, we had not anticipated the basement water leakage problem that occurred a few months ago after an exceptionally heavy thunderstorm. The affected area of the wall was about 10 feet wide. We called two companies for advice and estimates. One was Windler in Lawrence. The other was a company in KC. Windler sent its general manager, Patrik Trautloff. Patrick explained what would have to be done to fix the source of the problem. The work would require excavation to the footing in the area of the leak, installation of external waterproofing on that area of the foundation wall, and replacing the external drain tile in that area of the footing. The other firm's bid was somewhat less expensive and could be scheduled more rapidly. Basically it would deal with the effects of the problem inside the basement instead of the cause outside. Since we have a finished walkout basement, we wanted the cause fixed. We contracted with Windler. The firm arrived as scheduled with an impressively professional crew. They completed the work in two days while using a mini-excavator machine for the excavation. If you want cheap cosmetic repair of the interior of your basement, you might want to use a different firm. But if you want real professionals to fix the cause, Windler would be a good choice.

They had to come in my house and do some work in the basement and I helped him move some things out of the way and they told me that what was moved was sufficient for them to do their work, when I went upstairs there was a piece of furniture that they had moved on their own in front of my furnace on the face of it. That would move when it called for heat. They move the furniture in front of the did not remove it when they were done working I couldn't go downstairs to check it because I've been sick. I had a stroke so the work was done. It was kind of cool in the house one day and I turned the furnace on call for heat. I heard it come on 30 minutes later, I noticed there was no heat so I turned the thermostat off and turned it back on to reset the furnace. 20 minutes later no heat. I go down to the basement and I look to see that piece of furniture up against the louvre on my furnace furniture which I had taken pictures of it prior And the furnace would not come on any longer so I called proof and asked him what are they gonna do about my furnace not working and the response I got was not Hvac people. We don't know what to do about your furnace. I replied. I know you're not Hvac But you need to do something about my furnace. I never got response from the leader or the lady in the office or the owner Mr dairy who said that he could have somebody over there in a couple of weeks which was bull crap. Well it's been over a month and a half and they have not returned my call, from the beginning there were many missed appointments to get the job started one of which I was going in out of the hospital.
