Windler Foundation Repair™

Windler Foundation Repair™

If you have a serious waterproofing or foundation problem requiring professional work, Windler…read morewould be a good choice. Having lived in this house with a walkout basement for about 20 years, we had not anticipated the basement water leakage problem that occurred a few months ago after an exceptionally heavy thunderstorm. The affected area of the wall was about 10 feet wide. We called two companies for advice and estimates. One was Windler in Lawrence. The other was a company in KC. Windler sent its general manager, Patrik Trautloff. Patrick explained what would have to be done to fix the source of the problem. The work would require excavation to the footing in the area of the leak, installation of external waterproofing on that area of the foundation wall, and replacing the external drain tile in that area of the footing. The other firm's bid was somewhat less expensive and could be scheduled more rapidly. Basically it would deal with the effects of the problem inside the basement instead of the cause outside. Since we have a finished walkout basement, we wanted the cause fixed. We contracted with Windler. The firm arrived as scheduled with an impressively professional crew. They completed the work in two days while using a mini-excavator machine for the excavation. If you want cheap cosmetic repair of the interior of your basement, you might want to use a different firm. But if you want real professionals to fix the cause, Windler would be a good choice.

I'm a repeat client and always impressed by the work done. I regularly recommend Windler Foundation…read moreRepair to my clients as well.

Personally, I don't seem to make good decisions unless I have some experience that has taught me…read morethe hard way that I should have looked further into what I was getting into. With that knowledge I can honestly say that PST Engineering has been one of the best decision I have ever made. Instead of assuming that the property you are purchasing looks good so it must be good. I decided to play it safe and actually know for a fact and have some peace of mind forever going forward. Well, would you know it the property that I made an offer on had about $70k in unseen fixes to be done? Thanks to PST, that property is not my responsibility. I currently could not be happier in my current residence, which is Certified Solid by PST. It also doesn't hurt that they are nice people and will work with you on whatever you need, simply ask them. Call them before you pay for something to be fixed that does not need fix your problem.

Searching for a 'Structural Engineer', Google and Yelp have given 'PST ENGINEERING' high positive…read morereviews, so arranged to meet Frank Comer(Sr. Investigation & Design Professional Engineer) at the house we were planning to buy. Frank is very personable, explained all areas of interest which would raise flags, which items should be given immediate attention and others which were normal settling such as vertical/horizontal cracking. His suggestions of benefits such as additional attic insulation, drainage away from the foundation, etc., put us at ease that nothing serious was noticed, just maintaining good maintenance practices. Frank made sure all our questions were answered and stated not to hesitate to contact him for any issues in the future prior to hiring someone. Highly recommend 'PST ENGINEERING'.

We put off our foundation repair for too many years because we knew it would cost a fortune but…read morewhen we decided to sell our house, it was time. We had two other bids, and the one we thought we'd go with never got back to us with the formal estimate, so a friend recommended Spartan. Their estimate was fair and the work they promised was what we expected. Our front and back walls were cracked and shifting and one side wall was starting to bow. Despite our concern that the side wall needed a lot of work like the other two, they told us repeatedly that the wall was not cracked and shifting and only needed braced to keep it in place. They raised and straightened the front and back walls, placed 14 braces on the three walls, and waterproofed, filled, and injected all of the cracks. All of this came with a lifetime guarantee - that stays with the house when we sell - which is what sold us. Knowing we can show potential buyers that guarantee eases every bit of anxiety I had about the repair when selling the house. The workers were very nice and very professional, even to my retired neighbor who hung out and watch them work all day. The guy that originally came out to do the bid also visited every day to make sure everything was going well and even emailed after the first big rain to make sure we didn't have any water coming into the three areas we'd had problems with. 100% satisfied customer that highly recommends Spartan Foundation Repair!

I recieved four estimates for my sinking foundation, several from the popular companies that…read moreadvertise regularly. King Piers was not only competitive but very realistic about how to solve my problems. The owner came out and provided a quick and easy estimate. I am very glad I went with King Piers. I have a home in south Johnson County. They were able to pier my foundation, fill in the cracks with epoxy, fix cracks in my brick exterior and drywall interior as well as fixing a leaky window well in the basement. Enrique was awesome to work with and has my total trust. Very hard working crew. Thank you for fixing my home, that is a lot of stress relieved.

We had two estimates done and really only went with King Piers because we were legitimately afraid…read moreof our bathroom falling through the floor of our 100 year old home and the other company had a COVID outbreak so the schedule was wrecked. King Piers was able to get us on their schedule within a week. King Piers was more expensive and I didn't feel as comfortable with the man who did the estimate, however, the guy who physically did the work was kind and knowledgeable. My husband spoke with him multiple times throughout the process and said he seemed really experienced and confident but he wasn't arrogant. There was a miscommunication on our end, I misunderstood the scope of work. I was out of town and having to FaceTime in to see what was happening. As soon as my husband even dared to question the process the owners son got really annoyed, rude and, somewhat aggressive. As soon as he deemed us a potential problem he didn't listen to what we were saying and just kept repeating himself "Did you read the estimate? Do you want me to call my dad?" So...take that for what you will. They started very loud work very early, we had multiple complaints from neighbors frustrated that the concrete was being dug/drilled so early. The posts are seemingly solid, our floor is level, and the addition to the back of our home that was sliding is seemingly secure. Though they were more expensive than the other estimate, I didn't feel that the price was outrageous. Did they technically get the job done? Yep. Would I recommend them? Maybe?
