PJ made several assurances: that the final invoice would likely fall at the lower or middle range of the bid based on his evaluation, that they would work with my insurance company (Traveler's, which has a $10,000 limit for sump pump claims), and that they would do their best to ensure I would not pay out of pocket for mitigation and restoration. Relying on these statements, I proceeded with PowerDry. - After the work was completed, I was shocked to receive an invoice for $13,056--well above the signed bid maximum of $11,079. When I asked for clarification on why the costs were nearly double the lower range initially promised, they could not provide a clear explanation. They admitted there were no unforeseen complications or delays but simply repeated that the charges were "industry standard." This directly contradicted PJ's assurances and the written bid, creating a strong impression of misleading and opportunistic practices during an emergency. -Additionally, during removal of the basement trim, PowerDry caused damage to my drywall that was unrelated to the water damage. When I requested they repair or take responsibility for the damage, they refused, claiming they were not liable. -I feel misled and exploited at a vulnerable time. PowerDry used reassuring promises to secure my business, only to inflate costs beyond the bid and refuse accountability for damages they caused. Their conduct feels like bait-and-switch tactics, prioritizing profit over honesty and customer trust. I am seeking accountability for their misleading practices, overbilling attempts, and property damage.

Under no circumstances would I recommend you use ServPro in any capacity. We had a fire with extensive damage requiring a full pack out of all our belongings and nine months work of construction to our house. We went with ServPro mainly due to the positive reviews, which is why I'm writing this review today. If I can stop even one family from going through what we did with ServePro then it's worth it. After nine months we are back in our house even though the upstairs is still not finished and the quality of the work throughout the house is incredibly poor. At this point they have stopped work and we do not know when/if our house will ever be restored back to what it was before the fire. On the pack out: Our belongings were delivered back to us damaged. All of the power cords and hardware parts were not delivered at all. Several other items are still missing. On the construction: The absolute ineptitude is too extensive to list. Instead, I will share a few pictures of what was considered "done" by the ServPro crew. Keeping in mind that we had raised concerns about the quality of the work the entire time they were here working on our house. We were told repeatedly that it's part of the process and the finished product would more than meet our expectations. Unfortunately, we had to be here day after day to make sure things were getting done due to multiple things being missed. On top of all of that ServPro also caused damage to our house and property. When ServPro removed our fridge as part of the pack out they left the water line uncapped and damaged the wood floor to the point that the new fridge (old fridge was brought back but no longer worked) is off balance and does not fit properly. The ServPro crew that was initially working on the house had vehicles with oil leaks. Though we pointed this out continuously nothing was ever done about it. The result is permanent oil stains in our driveway and street. We did finally get through to ServPro that the quality was so terrible that we could not move in and they did take action. The entirety of the upstairs had to be redone. They are in the process of doing that work but have now stopped due to not wanting to wait on the money coming from the mortgage company. All of which is beyond our control, but we are the ones left with an unfinished home. If there are further updates, I will post them here. I would strongly encourage you to take your business elsewhere. The loss that comes with having a house fire is difficult enough without dealing with the stress, heartache, and pure incompetence of ServPro.

If you are considering Phoenix Restoration for water mitigation or restoration, read this…read morecarefully. Phoenix Restoration performed water mitigation at our home in January 2025 following a sewer backup. What followed was a months-long ordeal involving undisclosed mold, mishandled asbestos issues, contradictory documentation, and unprofessional conduct. The most concerning fact: neither we nor our insurer discovered these issues ourselves. Our insurance adjuster uncovered Phoenix's own internal photos more than nine months later in a portal neither of us had access to. Those photos fundamentally changed the claim. This review is based on documented evidence and a recorded call involving Phoenix, the insurer, and myself. Key Issues: - Undisclosed Mold: Phoenix photographed mold behind drywall in January 2025 but never disclosed it to us or the insurer. The adjuster confirmed there was no mold documentation anywhere in the claim file. When questioned, Phoenix claimed a verbal disclosure but admitted they had no notes, emails, or records to support that claim. - Asbestos Tile Disturbance: Phoenix's own photos show intact asbestos-containing floor tiles before demolition and cracked, chipped, and missing tiles afterward. Despite this visual evidence--even when shown their own photos--Phoenix denied disturbing the tiles. The adjuster stated the photos clearly supported the homeowner's account. Contradictory and Unreliable Documentation: The insurer identified serious inconsistencies, including: - Drying logs with identical timestamps across rooms - Logs inconsistent with Phoenix's claimed site visits - Records appearing to be entered later in bulk - Conflicting timelines and unexplained equipment billing - The adjuster repeatedly noted that the records did not align with Phoenix's explanations. - Unprofessional Conduct: During a routine fact-finding call, Phoenix's representative became defensive, evasive, and hostile, refusing to answer basic questions. The adjuster had to de-escalate the call and later confirmed the behavior was unprofessional and unnecessary. - Adjuster's Assessment: Our adjuster, who handles claims nationwide, stated she had never encountered a contractor who failed to perform post-remediation clearance testing. She described Phoenix's approach as "very unusual," their communication as lacking, and their conduct as below industry standards. - Impact: Because Phoenix failed to disclose hazards, denied documented damage, retained photos internally for months, and produced inconsistent records, the insurer was forced to investigate long after the fact--delaying hazard testing and forcing us to reconstruct events ourselves. - Bottom Line -- Phoenix Restoration: 1. Failed to disclose documented mold 2. Denied asbestos damage shown in their own photos 3. Produced contradictory and unreliable records 4. Behaved defensively during basic information-gathering 5. Fell below industry standards, per the insurance adjuster I do not recommend Phoenix Restoration for mitigation or remediation work--especially where mold or asbestos may be present. Homeowners deserve transparency, professionalism, and safety. Feel free to review the transcript and audio file of the communication between Phoenix, myself, and my insurance adjuster: https://turboscribe.ai/transcript/share/6854478632927015031/ji7ufVhCh65uOTjfBF0q5Qe5aAkTT12nkiM-34gOdYA/2025-11-06-call-with-phoenix-250045657
