They were courteous and professional, thorough, cleaned the space up afterward and reconnected everything and put it all back into place. Since that didn't feel precise, I asked for someone to come out and confirm the estimate. A staff member visited, counted all the vents and intakes, and explained that we had more vents than expected for a home our size, which increased the price. I appreciated the transparency there. Before scheduling, I asked how long the job would take. I was told two hours. The day of service was where the problems began. Two Steamatic employees arrived at 9 a.m. They explained they needed to set up a large vacuum system in the basement. Unfortunately, this equipment required more power than anticipated, and it took nearly two hours just to find an outlet configuration that would work. Once they began cleaning, the process took much longer than the original estimate - they finished at 4:30 p.m. That's a seven-and-a-half-hour job, not the two hours I had been told. I contacted Steamatic to express my frustration. To their credit, the company responded quickly: a supervisor came out several days later to inspect the work and found several issues, including dust on walls and ceilings, vents missing screws, and others not secured properly. Within a few hours, a second crew was sent to correct everything. Steamatic ultimately made things right. I received a revised invoice with a $177 discount, which I appreciated, and a VP called me personally to understand what happened. The supervisor also explained that the job should have been estimated at five hours - not two. One final note: no matter how careful the team is, vent cleaning does create some dust in the home. That's simply part of the process. Bottom line: Based solely on the service day experience, I would have rated this a 1. But because of how they handled the issues- prompt follow-up, corrections, and a fair discount - I'm giving them a 3 out of 5.

I had someone on my roof who was screening off areas where critters could access our attic and they told me that flat roof needed to be replaced, sooner than later. I contacted several companies recommended by people on the Nextdoor app. One company came out to give me a quote but never returned my calls. Another company told me they were only doing roof replacements. I appreciated their honesty. I was very specific when I called roofing companies; I didn't need a new roof. One guy came out and told me he could contact my insurance company and tell them my roof had been damaged from a storm. We'd not had any damage to our roof from storms and that's bordering on insurance fraud. I decided to check out Yelp recommendations and saw that Easton had a lot of good reviews. When I called, they were very nice and told me they'd send someone out. The guys from Easton were there on time and they gave me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable so I called to schedule the repair. The workers were very nice, professional, timely and they were there everyday until it was finished. They cleaned up after the repair so I wasn't finding random pieces of roofing material. Everyone, from the woman who answered the phone to the guys who did the repair was very nice and the whole process was seamless. Easton completed the repair and after years of checking ceilings, I can finally relax. Another contractor I'd used to remodel our house often needed access to the roof. I didn't ask him to check the flat roof but while he was up there, he wanted to check it out. He assured me they'd done a very good job and then asked for their info so he'd have the name of a good roofing company if one of his clients was looking to replace their roof. When an outstanding contractor is impressed with the work done by another company and asking for the company's info, that says a lot. If we have to replace our roof, we'll definitely use Easton and if anyone needs a roof replacement or repair, I highly recommend them. They've earned those 5 star reviews.

After hiring them to do the repairs, they were great to work with. They did the work on time, their team was professional and friendly, they came back when I had a concern about the rafter repairs, and immediately addressed the problem. They didn't try to oversell replacing the whole roof like many roofing companies might do. Instead, they gave me good, honest advice and did the needed work beautifully at a reasonable price. He came out, reviewed the issue, ascertained that the leak was likely due to flashing issues around vent pipes, and said he would send out his best worker to fix the problem the following week. After one additional follow up call (the following week turned into a week and a half), the roofer came out and fixed the problem. (We hope.) I'm still not impressed with how long it took to get in touch with Gentry. Their answering service has very nice people working for it, but they're basically useless when it comes to scheduling. They need to work on that. I also didn't enjoy having to get the former contractor involved. I'm not interested in working with them again, and every time I contact them for any reason, they want to know when we're going to be updating our kitchen. ::sigh:: But, hopefully, our roof has been fixed. Original review: Gentry installed our new DaVinci Bellaforte Shake 50 yr tiles back in 2012. Great product, seemingly great company...we were very happy with their work and product. However, here we are in 2017, and we have a leak. We discovered it a couple of weeks ago after several rounds of heavy rain in the Kansas City area in early/mid August. I contacted Gentry immediately, the day we discovered the leak, which was Tuesday, August 22nd. I left a message with their delightful receptionist, Edna, and waited to hear back. Friday, August 25th, I followed up with a phone call to John Howard's cell number that I have, and had to leave another message. I still hadn't heard back by Tuesday, Aug 29th, so I contacted Edna at the office again. She took my information, said she would make a note that this was my 2nd time calling (I told her technically it was the 3rd, since I'd left a message on John's cell the previous Friday), and apologized for the delay in someone getting back to me. It is now Saturday, Sept 9th. I left another message with what sounded like an answering service on Weds, Sep 6th, and also tried reaching John again via his cell phone on Thursday, Sep 7th, hoping that due to the earlier hour, I might be able to catch him before he got busy during the day. Friday, I left another message with the service, who was apologetic again about my lack of response, but...still no call back. We love our new roof, and the only thing we would do differently is to install clips to help with ice and snow sliding issues at the time of the install of the roof. (Although, to be honest, I don't know if the issue is with the type of product used, or the installation, or what, so maybe I don't love our roof? ::sigh:: ) But at this time, I cannot recommend Gentry Roofing, until I hear back from one of their representatives who can help us with the leak in our roof. I'm worried that, since our 5 year warranty on the "workmanship" is about to expire in October, I'm being ignored due to that. (p.s. my husband and a contractor that we were working with at the time hired Gentry without doing any background checking on them. He was straightforward, honest, fairly priced, and did not try to take advantage of our situation. His team was hardworking, skilled, responsive to our requests, and tried their best to prevent damage to the trees and shrubs. I hired DHI Roofing a year ago to repair hail damage to my home. The nightmare continues to this…read moreday. Client communications has been continuously problematic. Currently they are non-responsive. The roof replacement went well. Gutter replacement was okay. Siding replacement has been a nightmare. The first crew did such a horrid job that DHI had to tear the siding off and install it again. The second crew put a nail through electrical wiring that knocked out power to our internet box. When I turned on my air conditioning I found that they likely also put a nail into my in-wall coolant line which I am having repaired next week for nearly $4000. I cannot confirm until they rip it out to the wall, but a small hole I cut in the wall had a new nail just an inch from the line (and nowhere near a stud where it should be). I reached out to my project manager, Casey Jolley, 3 days ago and no reply. I reached out to his manager, Manny Santos, also and no reply. I called the main office this morning and they could not put me through to anyone I could discuss the issue with. They promised me 6 to 7 weeks ago that the garage doors would be replaced in 3 weeks. Nothing. Not a word from them. Other minor repairs that could have been completed in the past year are still not done.
