    After

We found after looking around KC that this was the best option for replacing our old, tired gas log insert with a new gas insert, mantle, hearth stones, and rock work. The salesperson was greatly helpful - answered all our questions and set up the installation. When the CHC installer came to our house, we were told we needed a plumber to move the gas line to the other side of the chimney and an electrician to wire the switch (our old one had no switch). He seemed not to have all the information from our contract, and we had to correct him a number of times. Once we hired both the plumber and electrician, neither had enough information to be able to give me a quote, so I got them in contact with CHC. The electrician was frustrated and the plumber wanted to walk off. I went back to the CHC showroom and talked with a senior staffer who assured me they would personally talk to both the plumber and electrician - which I found out later they did not. Because of this I was out some money from my electrician who had planned on a wifi switch he could not use. It also delayed our installation. We had to delay a few days between tear out and installation to get these issue worked out. Final assessment - good start with the sales staff - BAD COMMUNICATION and customer service when attempting the installation - and finally a good build and product, but not all we had hoped for initially.

Called for service on a pellet stove was told it'd be at least two months. The price for the service call was ridiculous.

As soon as I walked in the front door I was greeted by a friendly employee. I clumsily explained what I wanted to do to our fireplace and he knew exactly what I needed. He escorted me to a section of the store where i was shown my gas log options. There were a variety of price points and all of them were reasonably priced with installation for $150. I chose my new logs, paid, and had toasty warm gas logs fired up within a few days. I should have done this YEARS AGO. I highly recommend Fireplace and BBQ Center for all your fireplace needs!

Then I actually talked to someone at the Center and explained what I was concerned about. He told me I actually needed to add sand and some embers which would remedy the hissing noise (I had cleaned all that out thinking the lava rock was sufficient...ha!). I went to the store and the person I spoke to (didn't catch a name) clearly explained the steps to take and also gave me a written document which he highlighted. I purchased the sand and embers and easy peasy I have a functioning fireplace that looks new again. Grateful I asked questions and impressed there was NO hard sell to purchase a new insert.

With the end of the summer season approaching and my pool starting to turn a little greenish, we needed help fast. After asking for advice in the Kansas City pool community on Facebook, I kept hearing, "ask for Daryl!" So I did! We got our water tested, purchased the basics, and finally got the pool back to balance. Daryl came over within the week to give us 'pool school,' sharing his wisdom and answering all our questions. He even noticed our motor needed the bearings replaced, and we scheduled our pool closing too. From the moment we got into Leisure World Pool & Hearth's care, I've felt so much calmer knowing that they can help fix anything that comes up with our pool. They truly feel like my pool doctors! I am so grateful for their help; I honestly don't know how I would've managed becoming a new pool owner without them. What I appreciate the most is that they are never pushy or salesy. Their goal is to educate and help people take care of their own pools, which is refreshing. Every staff member I've interacted with has made me feel welcomed, and they've never made me feel silly for asking questions! If you're looking for pool expertise, look no further than Leisure World Pool & Hearth!

We are relatively new to the whole pool thing due to buying a house which came with the pool. We had gone with another local pool company with mediocre results with both closing and openings. We just didn't realize HOW mediocre until using this place. Also had a new liner installed about 2 years ago by that other company. We had major gaps in the liner at top where met the pool. I had emailed and called the original company who installed that liner but was never truly fixed. With this pool co they fixed those gaps even though they didn't install the liner. Our pool is cleaner than ever has been with the previous opening which is both a result of the closing and therefore the opening. The gentlemen who came out to do both the closing and opening were personable AND professional. Great communication with leisure world at all times! We have found our forever pool company!!

It is true that you get what you pay for. While Full Service Chimney might not be the cheapest option, they do a fabulous job with great attention to detail in a timely manner. Thank you to Chris, Shayne, and the rest of the team for a job well done. Now, we just have to wait for the spring rains here in Kansas City to ensure that the repairs alleviated our issue of water coming in the chimney.

I am sharing my firsthand experience with this business to help other consumers…read more In late April, I hired them to inspect a water leak located where the mantle and tile meet near the fireplace doors. They diagnosed the issue and recommended replacing the chase cover. Based on their expert recommendation, we paid them $2,625 for the replacement. Unfortunately, during a heavy rainfall in early July, the exact same leak returned. We called the company back, and they sent out the same technician. During this second visit, he performed a water isolation test between the siding and shingles. This test successfully proved the leak was coming from that specific area, which I have documented in the attached photos. Looking at the documentation they provided me, a clear contradiction stands out: *First Report: Listed the flashing condition as "Fair" and recommended the $2,625 chase cover. *Second Report: Listed the exact same flashing as "Poor" and resulted in a new quote of $7,100 to fix the actual source of the leak. Because we paid thousands of dollars based on an initial inspection that failed to resolve the issue, I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the Kansas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. I highly recommend potential customers carefully review my attached, redacted inspection reports and photos before hiring this company. I have attached pictures of the reports and quotes on google. UPDATE: OWNER of full service chimney co., Thank you for your response. I have reviewed call recordings, transcripts, and read your email. Let me be perfectly clear: attempting to deflect accountability by implying a communication disconnect between my husband and me does not alter the physical evidence, your own written reports, or the signed contract. You have explicitly confirmed our case in your own email. You stated: "Our repair technician noticed that once the chase cover was removed, he was able to see from the inside of the chimney that the flashing showed signs of allowing water in." If your repair crew saw active flashing leaks and visible wood rot while the chase cover was off, re-assembling the chimney, taking our $2,625.38, and leaving our home to suffer structural water damage for another two months is the absolute definition of a negligent repair. Furthermore, our signed contract explicitly mandated: "While the chase cover is off, we will inspect the areas we can see around the roofline and flashing for water entry." Your team completely failed that contractual obligation. If they performed a proper inspection as promised, work should have been halted the moment the old cover was removed and the rot was visible. Instead, your company chose to finish an ineffective repair, collect our money, and wait until July to present an outrageous $7,100.85 upsell to fix the actual issue. Pointing to boilerplate fine print about a "1% surface area" to excuse an aggregate failure to stop the leak we hired you to fix is completely unacceptable. We will not be bullied or manipulated into paying $7,100.85 for your company's failure to properly diagnose this in April. As requested in my previous email, provide the line-by-line itemized invoice for the April work and the itemized breakdown for the new quote immediately. We are currently acquiring competitive estimates from licensed roofing and siding professionals in Overland Park, and we have fully initiated our complaint documentation for the Kansas Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
