My wife and I replaced 20+ windows on our home. The original windows were drafty and our gas/electric bill was extreme depending on the season. We went with Thermal King and couldn't be happier. I truly feel like we got a higher efficiency window than others, and they look great. The installation crew worked extremely hard and they were so careful in their work. They paid attention to small detail and made sure that they were installed correctly. There were a few small issues with some of the windows from manufacturing and installation, but they were quick to fix and made everything right. After the corrections, I found one more minor issue, and they were out in a couple of days and got it resolved. We are very pleased with these windows and can already tell a difference in our heating/cooling and are excited to see the savings we have on our utility bills! read more

Had windows done scrap years ago, they did an awesome job. Just had them do the siding and while they did do an excellent job replacing tyne gutters was never the plan. They completely removed and disposed of the gutters due to a mistake by the siding crew and somehow I had to pay for the gutters to be replaced. If they had manned up and paid for there mistake it would be a 5 star review. My having to spend additional unplanned on funds for their screw up is why it's only 3 stars. read more

After a couple other bids from well known companies here in Omaha we found Thermal King to have a superior product and price. Professional installation team arrived on time and spent the day on installing the windows. They cleaned up as they went making it a pleasure not having to do extra clean up. Windows look great and you can notice the change in temp in the house. Added bonus reduces the noise from outside. We went with the triple pain windows. The price was s right. read more

I did an entire house and sliding doors replacement. It was my entire severance from losing a job because I wanted to decrease utility cost, which there was none noticeable. i was surprised at the poor installation quality. For the cost, I expected all leaks around the windows to be stopped. They weren't. After a year, one window in my bedroom would not close completely. They came out once and said it was an installation issue. They referred me around the horn and the same guy called me back to say he had already reviewed the window and it wasn't a window issue. So, I was stuck with a window that would not close 1/2". The sliding door they installed in the basement was so heavy, we could barely open it. By the end of my time in that house, I would go upstairs and out rather than fight with that heavy door. I would NEVER recommend this company. They installed windows, yes, but they did not do what was necessary to stop all leaking around the windows or to resolve a window that would not completely close, irregardless of a 50 year warranty. I sold the house after 6 years. I never saw any savings on utilities, never felt it any warmer in winter or cooler in summer. Wasted a lot of money for what seems to have been an unnecessary purchase for my home. Having a window that will not close or a door too heavy to open only exacerbated my opinion. read more

I purchased 10 windows, front door, sliding door, and two garage doors. Thermal king was very prompt in their service. My shower pipes used to freeze, but I have not had a problem with the new windows and front door. And the washing machine's water line would freeze again the new windows no problem. I would recommend Thermal king to my friends and family. The front door is amazing and the sliding door looks great. It is so much better than what we had before. read more

My old windows where over 40 years old I got two bids. I decided to go with Thermal King from doing researching on the quality of their product compared to their competition. It was an easy choice in the end. My personal sales consultant explained every aspect of how the the product worked and allowed me to design 15 new windows with my current color design after doing a full renovation of my home. The windows arrived two months earlier than expected and I would highly recommend for anyone looking for new windows, a new front door, storm door and patio door. He was very apologetic that what I experienced is not the way they do business and I get it, everyone, even salespeople have an off day sometimes. I will admit, I was impressed that they even followed up given I still have not made a purchase yet. Outstanding company to work with. We purchased windows and doors from Thermal King about 10 years ago. We chose the triple pane so replacing all the windows and doors lowered our heating and cooling about 25%. They are a great product. We had one window that had to be replaced twice and another one is getting replaced today. We have never had a problem with replacements. Recently one of our sliding doors cracked like a windshield on a really cold day. The maintenance guy came out the same day we called and we had a new door within a couple of days. Their product has a lifetime warranty so there was NO cost, no questions, nothing. I have to say this company's customer service is impeccable. read more

I consider myself a little picky. Thermal King installed my garage doors, but only after I did my research. The criteria I wanted to meet involved an extensive laundry list of steel grades, insulation, warranty, and other features. I could not believe that Thermal King Windows met each and every item on my list. I strongly suggest that you do your homework, and research. After waiting quite a bit or replacements everything on our bay windows look great now! I know everything was being held up for a while and a lot of it was out of anyone's control so I won't count against Thermal King for taking 4 months to fix the broken window. The installers where the same 2 that came originally which was nice to see that they sent familiar faces. They changed the weight issue with the windows with a very nice, uniform looking fix much better than before. I am very happy with these windows and I believe I may go with them again when we decide to replace our remaining single pane windows! read more

It was just a high pressure sales pitch for overpriced windows. We had some specific questions which were never answered, and instead he wasted over an hour showing us a heat lamp and how triple pane windows work (which we were already aware). He spent almost 3 hours at our home, and again we didn't make any progress getting information for the project we wanted completed. He was instantly annoyed when we didn't want to commit to 10k upfront and not take a day to consider our options. Pretty scummy if you ask me. I always take time to consider large financial purchases, and that should be anticipated. I'm glad we decided to go with another company, as one of our neighbors showed us the low quality install they received. read more

We had TK out for an estimate a little more than a year ago. Their commercials say the appointment won't take more than an hour. Wrong. The salesguy showed up at 8 p.m. and didn't leave until 11 p.m. Several times throughout our appointment, my husband asked him flat-out if they would be even close to being within our budget. When it became obvious that we wouldn't be buying from them, the guy tried every tactic possible to get us to change our minds. It was only after the fifth or sixth time that my husband said no -- based on other reviews, I should've just said my husband wasn't home when he originally showed up -- that he left, again, three hours later. read more

I think Thermal King Windows needs to rethink their policies. My fiance and I had booked an appointment to have someone give us an estimate for windows. My fiance is rarely home during the day, where as I am very frequently. We booked the appointment for 2pm today, thinking we would both be able to be there. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to be. So the man (argh, forgot his name already!) came out, he was a bit early (awesome!) dressed professionally (awesome!), and came in the door, mentioned that the cool air felt nice, then asked if Ben was home. Of course I said how he had gotten called out. So, not even out of my entry way, he started to tell me that they only give estimates with both home owners present. He left at 1:58, before the appointment was even scheduled. He didn't bother to ask if we both owned the house (considering he knew we we weren't married, that's a leap) or who even wanted the job done or would be paying for the project. He also didn't bother to ask if we were even looking to sign anything that day--they would have been our first estimate. Key word being 'first.' I decided to check Yelp to see if the company was always so flaky, I'm glad I did. My fiance often works 10-12 hour days. He doesn't want to come home to hear a sales pitch, he wants to come home and relax or have a fun evening out. I don't think we're going to be doing business with this company. We have used Thermal King three times for projects in our home. We have had nearly all of our windows replaced and a sliding door. The quality of the product is great. We have been pleased with how the windows have held up over the past few years (We just replaced a sliding door a couple of weeks ago, so far so good). Every sales person was friendly and on time with scheduled consultations. The past couple of times they have been to our home on install day, their employees were kind, professional, and did a good job on the installation and clean up. Granted, you pay a tad more using Thermal King... but we have been very happy with the results (and the lifetime warranty is a nice touch). And no... I wasn't paid to write this review. Although, if Thermal King wanted to pay me a small token of appreciation, I wouldn't argue. read more

Unlike all of the other reviewers I have Thermalking Windows. I am a perfectionist and I love them! They are the best in quality, easy to clean and VERY efficient. they have a wonderful warranty that put's all my perfectionist fears to rest. The installation crew was quick, very polite and very neat. I would highly recommend them. Like the other reviewers, I am aware that ThermalKing requires all homeowners to be present when they come for an estimate. This is true no matter if two men, two women or a man and women own the house. They explained to us that this is because this is a custom product with many options to choose from. Personally I was glad to have my spouse with me so that we could review the options together and I did not have to try to describe all the options later without the samples that they bring. I recently had Eddie, a salesman, come to my home for an estimate. Time and time again I asked for an approximate cost of one window...the same size was throughout most of the house. Two hours and 15 minutes later, still, NO Estimate. When I told the salesman I had to leave, he folded up his paperwork, and said he could not verbally give me a price...that his boss would not allow it. 90% of their contracts were signed when the salesman was at the house! (I cannot make this up!). I told him the policy he referred to just lost him the contract. He then started berating me, that he could give me cheap windows if I wanted to have cheap windows. I asked about double paned, vs. triple paned. He said they only sold triple pane. I told him the website showed BOTH. He said he had nothing to do with the website. This company is amazingly difficult and impossible to get a price out. I was feeling trapped in my own home and I am a strong woman! A sad commentary on Thermal King. Forget them. A total waste of your time. Shockingly bad. YUK!! read more

Thermal King, today is the day I finally caved and filed a BBB claim against you. And you deserved it. In spades. I will spare the lengthy details of our attempts to get warranty service on our VERY expensive bay window that has a 50 year written warranty. Given that I spent thousands of dollars with this company on a bay window, a garden window and two sliding glass doors, you would think they'd want our continued business. After all, we have some double hung windows on our house that still need to be replaced. Thermal King will not get that business. Here are some of the things that have been exceptionally bad: -Still no replacement pane despite initial request last winter -Claims by Thermal King that they have ordered the replacement pane twice and have broken it twice (they're a window company...don't they deal with glass every day??) -Being a no-show for one appointment to replace the glass (apparently because it broke, along with their phone dialing fingers) -Their current manager blamed their problems on an installer who he claimed that he fired. He refused to take any responsibility for how poorly run the operation is. Guess what? I'm a manager, and if I refused to ever take any responsibility for anything, I would anticipate being fired very quickly. -Today, an installer came by again and claimed to have no knowledge of the window he was scheduled to install. WTF?? He then said he'd check into things and call us back. Guess what? Well, you know where this is going... So there are some new terms that have been thrown around our house today after today's latest Thermal King buffoonery. I will spare you the gory but hilarious details. Laughing at the stiflingly bad service is all we can do this evening. Future plans may include a lawsuit. It's up to you, Thermal King. The ball is in your court. Update: Thermal King finally did replace the defective glass and they answered the BBB complaint taking responsibility for their poor service. I also received a call from the salesman who initially sold me the windows apologizing for their poor service. I cannot in good faith update them from 1-star, though. They truly earned their rating through abysmal customer service and I would never recommend them to others for that reason. There is simply no excuse for a customer to go through as much frustration as I did. read more

Outstanding windows but even better customer service. Regarding the windows, we noticed a big difference in our heating and cooling bills. We have had the original set for 10 years. Our level pay electricity bill went from $235 to $180 per month when we got the new windows from Thermal King. Recently we decided to replace some additional windows and we contacted the salesperson who had helped us before. Steve Sage came to the house and immediately reminded us of the 50 year warranty as he noticed some of the 10 year old windows had broken seals. From the outside he could see moisture on some of the window panes. The windows will be replaced at no additional charge and no further work from us. Regarding the new windows and door that we purchased, Steve had many useful ideas and was able to work within our budget with cost saving suggestions. This is not your stereotypical window company - here one day and gone the next, or trying to pull a fast one with high pressure sales tactics and up-charges. Steve worked with the numbers because he recognized the expense of good windows. He is a nice person who gets to the bottom line without any prodding. He also stands behind his product. He apologized for the few windows that had an issue - to include a small crack in one of the windows - and quickly reordered replacements. It's like we are getting brand new windows 10 years later. A top notch company and a top notch General Manager. If it is a house you plan to live in for awhile, then go with a more expensive/higher quality product up-front - you won't be disappointed. And, in the end, you will save money with better efficiency from the triple pane windows. And, you will have peace of mind knowing the windows will be replaced free of charge if there are any issues in the next 50 years. That warranty and the ease to make the warranty claim is worth a lot. Thank you Steve and Thermal King. read more

WHAT AN AWFUL, SEXIST COMPANY!!!!! Sorry, but I just kicked the estimator out and told him not to return. The estimator came exactly on time (hence the 1 star, since zero is not an option on here!), went upstairs, looked at the window that needs replacing and then said: "Where's your husband, I can't give you an estimate without your husband." I asked if he was joking, but no, even their manager confirmed that is their sexist business policy. No estimate if the husband is not home. Good luck with running that kind of company, you certainly won't get my business! I posted this on citysearch as well, and saw that several other people experienced the same problem. I bought a new patio door with the Euro-glide feature. It is wonderful. I can slide the door with 1 finger. My old door was a constant battle to open and close. Everyone I dealt with was top notch: Steve my salesman, Bryan who came out to measure and the young man who installed it. Salesman was a little pushy. Advertising department was nice to work with. Windows showed up about a full month sooner than expected date which was really nice. When the windows were being installed we noticed the handles on every single window were loose. Now when buying rather expensive items like these windows you expect to have better (solid) handles on the windows. We called the manager and spoke to the installers and they are more than happy to change them out and make it right. This is the only reason thermal king gets a 4 star instead of 5. Now the real reason thermal king is an amazing company is because of two of their installers. Daren and Anthony. My wife and I have had sever contractors/installers for many projects on our house and those two guys put the others to shame. Those two are what America was built on. They took so much pride in their work and made sure everything was perfect. We had another company instal a door a year ago and it's had problems ever since. Those two guys pulled the trim off and fixed the door and pointed out some other things that were wrong and corrected them for us and only took them a couple minutes. They also made sure to be very clean and virtuous when doing work inside the house. Every time they did something they made sure we were happy with how it was before they did the rest. Phenomenal job by those two. And so far customer service has been good as well as accommodating with us to get the new handles. Highly recommend thermal king. Updated post 12/28/14 - I am still thrilled with my new windows. I have had them for almost nine months now. I am still happy with their performance. The one bad thing is that I did not replace all of my windows last spring so now I have had the opportunity to see just how bad all of my old windows really are. I will be giving Thermal King a call in January to get a price to replace the rest of my windows. Original post 3/30/14 I just had my new windows installed this week. They are perfect! No more drafts. What an amazing improvement over my old windows. The installation crew was prompt and courteous. I had windows and a sliding glass door replaced. The crew was in and out in one day. I read some of the other reviews prior to choosing Thermal King and I have to say the reviews made me a little nervous. However, I also noticed that the three bad ratings were posted by people who didn't actually buy windows from Thermal King. Let's face it spending money to replace windows is never on anyone's priority "to-do" list. Windows cost a lot of money. I completely understand why Thermal King wants all of the decision makers present for the in home demonstration. If you actually sit through the demonstration you will be thoroughly impressed and are more likely to spend the extra money to get the best replacement windows. Thermal King offers a fiberglass reinforced Vinyl replacement window. This was an important detail for me. I asked several other window companies if I could get a fiberglass reinforced replacement window and none of the companies I spoke to offered this option. To me this feature was very important. In one of my prior homes I had vinyl replacement windows installed and after a couple of years, the seals started popping. In my bay window, I could visibly see the vinyl sagging about a 1/2 inch in the middle of the window. I wasn't sure why, but I later found the vinyl just sags over time causes the seals to break. When the Thermal King Salesman demonstrated their windows, I was pretty sure they were going to be ok. He actually brought a sample window with him and sat on it. The sales demonstration will convince you the windows are worth the extra money. read more

My husband is in the military and i deployed. I need new windows. The sales representative, Brad Summers, came to my house for an appointment. When he found out that my husband was deployed he told me that could not give me a presentation until he gets back. He took the bottle of water I offered him and left. I tried to explain that I had the power to make the decision. He said he would not give me any information until my husband was present. and told me he could still get to another appointment. I told him that I had other companies coming this week to give me quotes on windows. He didn't care. He just stormed out of my house. SHAME ON THERMAL KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
