The food is outstanding. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The portions are generous, the presentation is excellent, and there is a depth of flavor that you simply don't get from typical fast-casual Mediterranean spots. Even the fries I had with my gyro were worth writing home about What really sets Darna apart, though, is the hospitality. The staff are welcoming, attentive, caring, and genuinely helpful. You can tell there is real care and attention behind everything they serve. If you're anywhere around Olathe or the Kansas City area and you're looking for authentic Mediterranean food that tastes homemade rather than mass-produced, put Darna on your list. Fresh food. Incredible flavor. Generous portions. Genuine hospitality. Absolutely deserving of five stars. I will definitely be back to work my way through more of the menu

I had the lamb kabobs with rice and veggies. I believe the overall dish could have used a bit more seasoning. Additional cucumber yogurt sauce would have been nice as well. I'd give the dish a 6/10. Can't speak to the customer service as my interaction with staff with was extremely brief. However, the service wasn't horrible.

We came here for a casual dinner this week and were very happy with the service. The waitresses…read morekindly catered to seating us somewhere quiet, as my grandma has hard hearing and she was understanding about our preferences. We were seated instantly! The atmosphere in here is made rich by its dim lighting and slightly upscale dress code (not enforced, just naturally adapted by customer base). While it is a little loud, atleast you know it is popular for a reason. It's got the atmosphere and menu to definitely make a great anniversary, date night, or family reunion. Or like us, a special night out with family. The waitresses was happy to explain the drink menu and offered me a taste of the drafts. I ordered the fish sandwich fried and it was delicious! You can tell they make the ingredients from scratch here based on the full flavors and freshness. My mom got the enchiladas, she wished there had been more cheese. My grandma got the shrimp scampi, she wished for a little less lemon. I did try it and it is very strong in flavors of lemon and olive oil, so if that is your speed, try it for sure. I hadn't been here for some years, but this time definitely changed my mind. I will be coming back more often.

Went there for dinner last night to celebrate a birthday…read more We had the shrimp scampi and the pork chop. Both main courses were excellent. The scampi had a generous portion of good size shrimp. The pork chop was very thick and large yet was very flavorful and tender. The pork chop came with mashed potatoes and seasoned vegetables. However, in looking over the menu I saw they had a variety of sides. I asked if I could change me sides, which they were more than glad to do. I got the carrots and the cornbread. The carrots were delicious and there was a lot of them. The cornbread tasted good but was a little dry. Next time I would stay with the carrots but try something else. As I said the pork chop was very big and I took about half of it home. When I placed my order the waiter asked if I wanted to order a second pork chop, which I passed on. However, next time I may take him up on the offer and have an additional one to take home. All around I give it 5 stars. Also, we asked about desert. There was no desert menu nor a desert tray to help us make a decision. The waiter did rattle off the desert options, however this was kind of busy to follow. A desert menu or try would certainly go a lot further, as far as we are concerned. In summary, the food was outstanding, the service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant.

Since it was Taco Tuesday, I decided to mix and match a few items: The Puffy Tacos: Carmen's is famous for these, and they were incredibly tasty. If I'm being entirely honest, I remember them being just a little bit puffier on my last visit--but hey, that could easily be a figment of my imagination! Either way, the crispy beef flavor hit the spot. The Pork Tamale: This was the absolute star of the show. It was flat-out delectable. My only regret is that I didn't order two or three more to take home. The Sides: The refried beans were standard but solid. I ended up pairing the whole plate with some fresh avocado and a generous douse of Sriracha, which brought everything together perfectly. It's great to see a local favorite keeping up the hospitality and great food. I definitely won't wait so long to come back next time--especially when those tamales are calling my name!

I also ordered the chips and queso. The steak was seasoned well. I give the Gordita a 9/10. The rice and beans could've had more flavor. I give both a 6/10. The chips and queso 8/10. Chips tasted homemade. The queso was really good too! Customer service was good.
