I set a appointment to see Suzanne this past weekend for information on Kybella and some lip fillers. Edward came in and reviewed all my concerns and gave me several options. Him and Suzanne are both amazing. Young girl in front office is nice but no real personality. A bit surprising being that she works with such fun and caring group. Office is super cute and clean!! Suzanne injected my lips and to be honest it hurt like hell! Beauty Hurts!! However the results are AWSOME and I am in love with my lips. As Suzanne said I will want bigger! If I could offer less than a star, I would! Incredibly disappointed with the way Dr. Armstrong handled the transition due to "water damage" at Fullerton office. I have been a customer for years and they didn't even bother to inform their customers about their plan to terminate her staff and give a choice to her customers. I had an appointment and went to the office to find the door locked and two other customers waiting in confusion not knowing what just happened. We all had appointments!!! I have been trying to get my money back since end of November due to lack of trust I have developed as I have been passed from one individual to another with a very rude attitude. Today, I have been called and got informed that they won't refund my money for a procedure I purchased during Open-house in November.. the exact procedure that they were supposed to have on me the day I showed up to a locked office!!!!!! Think again when you plan to see anyone under Dr. Armstrong's management!! They were all instructed to tell you they had "water damage" instead of coming clean and be apologetic to their customers for a very unprofessional way they managed this business transition. Your health and trust to a medical professional should be your first priority! I received an email that suggested that an office in another location in Fullerton would be open in the future. As I had an appointment with Dr. Aguirre next week, I called to clarify whether I still had it and where to go. I learned that the appointment would be in Newport Beach and Dr. Aguirre was no longer with this medical group. Supposedly, there was "water damage" to the Fullerton office, which was now closed, but another office in that city would be open in January. As I have no interest in driving to Newport (I might as well go to Phoenix) and I do not have any urgent issues, I declined. Like others commenting here, I also liked Dr. Aguirre, but, in addition, she is about the fifth doctor I have had in this practice so I will be looking for an office where there is more continuity of care. read more

Dr. Jennifer Armstrong is a throughly amazing, very sincere and highly skilled doctor. I had had injections in the past and let my face go for 3 years. I went to her with my face looking quite bad. I had the worst possible experience here. Who ever is the manager needs to be fired. I went back and forth on the phone with her for weeks. It almost seemed like she was evading me. She is UNPROFESSIONAL and has no customer service skills. I think her name was Liz or something like that. Anyway, this place churns and burns patients instead of really taking any genuine compassion, empathy and concern for them. It's all about how they can make money rather than putting your well-being first. I'm definitely reporting this place to the BBB as they operate under below-acceptable standards. Advanced Skincare Fullerton is simply the best. For years, I had pretty significant acne on my face, chest, and back. Prior to finding out about ADV Fullerton, I went to two different dermatology offices. Both of these two other derm offices suggested putting me on topicals. I told both practices that topicals don't work for me but they insisted that they prescribe me numerous topicals. Although I'm just the patient and don't know all the ins and outs of derm, I was quite annoyed that two different practices put me on topicals after I said they don't work with my skin. This is when I was referred to Sue's practice. From there on out.... the rest is history, in a good way :) As you might imagine, being 22 years old with significant acne can make you feel pretty insecure. Sue decided to put me on accutane. Prior to putting me on accutane, Sue did advise me that it is a pretty strong treatment and she provided me with tons of different moisturizers to assist in this process. Not only that but she went above and beyond and made sure that I got regular blood work just to make sure the accutane wasn't causing any internal problems. It has now been over a year and honest to God I can't tell you the last time I got any sort of acne. Additionally, Edward the office manager is great! It's very evident that he has a true passion for what he does. Everytime I visit, he is so friendly and easy to talk to. Here is my story. I have skin cancer. I saw Dr. Sires, he looked at it, said he would schedule a biopsy after he gets my medical file. A month later, arrived for my biopsy and they wouldn't do anything because they haven't received my medical file yet. They advised they would call once received. Two months later and i am still waiting for them to call. I called the doctor they were requesting it from and he said they have never received a request for it. After all that, i got billed for two visits. They've done absolutely nothing but lied to me, wasted my time and money. read more

I had an appointment with Dr Nguyen, I signed in for her and was told nothing about her being gone from this practice. I was undressed for a full body exam, in walks this doctor who I had never seen before. I now have learned that he is not a dermatologist at all. I was very uncomfortable only because I was not expecting him. I had an appointment with a female doctor who I loved. I will be cancelling any future appointments as I have located Dr Nguyen just down stairs along with Dr Sire. If they told you he retired they are incorrect. read more

APRIL 2015, after a long stressful trial in March my phone being pressed up against my face led to a huge painful cystic pimple on my cheek. I've had them before and I wanted to see a dermatologist and find out what I can do to stop them because they hurt and I tend to pick at them. My first visit cost over $600 ( including blood test and 2 prescriptions). When I looked up the medications one was a water pill and the other a zit cream with poor reviews. So I called them less then 2 hours after I left because I suffer from dehydration and wondered if a water pill was safe. The doctor took my call and said she forgot to look at my file and see if I had a family history of breast cancer? Well yes my mom has had a double mastectomy. Now after I've filled the prescription and had a blood test the doctor said don't take the water pill and don't worry about the blood test. GLAD I CALLED THEM, let's hope they don't miss something important again. After using the $200 zit cream for about 10 days my pimple got worse and my face looked super oily. Made a second appt and they told me I need to give the prescription zit cream some more time before they will prescribe me something stronger. I drove from the dermatologist to my regular doctor, crying. I had been suffering with a huge pimple for about 3 months and i would pay for whatever they recomended. Women seem to love dermatologists but after my experience I have more faith in my regular doctor for everyday skin conditions. The office was beatific, the staff was friendly, I just wasn't ready to wait months for a pimple to get better. The 1 Star I've given has nothing to do with money, but prescribing me 2 things and the same day saying don't take 1 then ignoring me when I say the other prescription isn't helping. This business did not make me feel important, no one should have to keep taking a drug if they don't think it's working. read more

I started coming here around a year ago, as I've been plagued with skin problems since puberty and decided to bite the bullet and see a professional. As a college student with very limited resources, it can be pretty taxing to find the right doctor who will fulfill your needs without tearing a gaping hole in your wallet....I found that I was able to achieve that here with Dr. Nguyen. She is extremely kind and caring and incredibly attentive to my needs, not only has my skin immensely improved under her care (within a few months I was able to confidently walk out in public without any sort of face makeup), but she has helped me save so much money and time by advising me on what options were best for me under my circumstances. I purchased a Groupon for one $99 IPL (also known as a Photofacial) here. They are only open M-F from 7:30-5 p.m., which would make it difficult for most normal people to schedule. Luckily, I have two days off a week. You do not tip, as this is a Medical Center. I recommend filling out all the forms online through their website before you come in, which probably saves a lot of time since there are a bunch of forms. I arrived for my appointment and waited less than five minutes before being seen by a nurse practitioner - I can't recall her name but she was friendly and had a slight accent. She asked if I had any questions, I signed a waiver, and then we got down to business. It took about 20 minutes and afterwards, my face felt like it had been slightly sunburnt. The slight pain went away after a few hours - not a big deal. The place itself was clean and modern looking. There was no hard sell on their services, which I appreciated. They probably had a lot of experience with one-time Groupon users. Anyways, the procedure did get rid of some sunspots but I really can't tell a difference and it's been about two weeks. They recommend about 5-6 treatments, but since I couldn't tell anything from just one, I'm hesitant to go on further. The strength can be adjusted, so maybe it was because a low setting was used on me? Not sure, but I'm Asian and have medium colored skin and had no problems w/ any discoloration, etc. I'd probably recommend this place if you can afford paying regular price for any type of laser treatment. Parking is also free and plentiful. FYI - I did not know this, but the procedure is somewhat painful, despite what a lot of websites say. Some people liken the feeling to rubber bands snapping on your face. I'd say it's more like an electric zap. It wasn't painful enough to make me scream or cry, but it definitely hurt more in certain areas of my face than others. It also depends on your own personal pain threshold - some ppl find it mildly annoying and others can't stand the pain. There was also a strong burning smell, which the nurse reassured me was normal, bc it tends to sear baby hairs on your face, which I guess I had a lot of. I wish they had informed me when I made the appointment that I could opt to get numbing cream if I came in 30 minutes early rather than finding out after I got there...only to be told there wasn't time for it. I had no idea this was an option. Anyways, I would recommend requesting the numbing cream when you make your appointment - I don't think you have to pay extra for this either. read more

If you are looking for a dermatologist, this is the place to go! They have all of the leading and up to date technology. The entire staff is also amazing and very friendly. Dr. Nguyen is seriously one of the nicest and most caring derms I have ever been to. I've been seeing her frequently to resolve a stubborn acne scar that really bothers me. It's nothing compared to what she sees on a daily basis but she has never made me feel like I wasn't worth her time. I have also done the Vbeam laser with the nurse Adriana. She was able to tremendously improve the appearance of my scar. This office will not try to sell you something that you don't need, or that won't work! They are honest and results driven. I was asking dr. Nguyen about the CO2 laser and she told me that she doesn't think I should do it, nor do I need it. Any other office would push you to do it just to make the money! If you haven't found an office that you like, I would for sure try this one. You can pretty much get anything done here and I've never had a problem with scheduling. read more

We had the best experience at ASC Med center, I googled coolsculpt and found an add for Advanced Skincare I called and they had a great deal and were not to far from my house. I liked that the office lady called me back within hours of my submitting my info online. I went in for my consultation and they were ready to do it on the spot. It took me about a week before I was ready to have the coolsculpt procedure. I decided to do it and I have now had 3 rounds of it in my waist and am fitting into 2 sizes smaller just in time for my reunion. So over all everyone was super nice and the procedure was flawless and so easy I will return to the Newport Beach office for my future needs I LOVED ASC. The PA that helped me even called to follow up the next day herself I was impressed. read more

I wanted to like this facility, but after so many office misscheduled and rescheduled appointment days/times, prescriptions never sent to the pharmacy, and a blood soaked shoe after only receiving a Band-Aid to cover a bleeding biopsy on my heel, I was done and stupid for staying through the red flags. I was routinely called to show up early for appointments just to wait past my original appointment time in the waiting area. Halfway through a series of pricey laser treatments their machine broke. Weeks passed in which I was lied to that the machine was going to be fixed. Several extensive phone calls for a refund later, I received money back for my remaining treatments, but the results I already paid $300 for never happened. I have since frequented another dermatology office far away from this one to be treated for prominent keloid scarring in which they describe is a result of "sloppy procedures" from this office. read more

Having researched his work with acne scars, I visited Dr. Sire during a trip to Southern California. The first time, I had saline injections-- he's one of few dermatologists who perform this. There wasn't any improvement (it's best done in a series, so fair play) but no harm was done. The wait time for that appointment was over an hour so I'm not sure why I returned (yes I do, I was desperate)-- I did trust him. During my second visit that year, the wait was two and a half hours. At least they give you ample opportunity to escape, which I nearly did and wish daily I had. This time, I had subcision followed by Juvederm in two areas to treat scars left by Grekin. My left side was drastically overfilled but at the time, I thought it was partially due to swelling because I'd had filler before and yeah, you swell. And sometimes you get a bit overfilled but that goes down soon enough. Over the months, however, it became clear it wasn't going down. I live in NorCal and was busy with work/life and didn't consider complaining or traveling back to see him, nor did I have the time and means. The large lump on my left side and a smaller bump on my right bothered me a great deal but I still trusted him and the fact that it would heal well. Like a dope. The filler eventually dissipated but I was left with permanent raised lumps. When I visited my regular dermatologist (not having mentioned the procedure), he immediately asked if I'd had subcision elsewhere because I had the telltale signs of a botched one. A few years later, I decided to call the office to ask what might be done to attempt to correct it and was told that Dr. Sire said I must've had a bad reaction to the filler. Yeah...no. Super fun backstory: I've had Restylane and Juvederm injected by five different doctors more than a dozen times over the past 8 years without one reaction or complication. I'd also had two previous subcisions with my regular derm with no problems. Professionals, please admit when you're at fault and don't try to deflect responsibility. It snatches away any remaining trust the patient might have. If something genuinely goes wrong, accept it graciously and do what you can to right it-- people are entrusting you with more than just their skin. To his credit, he offered to see me again to see what he could do, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, travel and trust have yet to lend themselves to that scenario. Please be careful if considering this practice, and perhaps bring a copy of War and Peace. I invested a great deal of time, money, and emotional bs and ended up so much worse off. Several years later, I regret having had subcision here every day and wish to anything I could take it back. read more

I came to this place upon recommendation of my co-worker. And I thank her for this. Dr Nguyen and staff are very welcoming and caring. Dr Nguyen had to fix my undereye dermal filler which was done incorrectly, overfilled and ugly. It was done by a Skincare clinic somewhere else. Dr Nguyen is very professional and knowledgeable. They are very ethical and gives sound advice. I had her do 50 units of Botox and she used the finest smallest needle that you can barely feel anything. Their prices are low and very reasonable. This review is for the facility in Fullerton. This is the first time I ever look into getting cosmetic care. I called to set my appointment and the person on the phone said Dr. Amy Nguyen was the best Dr. to see for my needs, acne scars. After reading most of what we're 5 star reviews for Dr. Amy Nguyen, I have to say I was excited to see her on Monday to get the help that I need for my scars. I'm embarrassed of my acne scars but I read that she was compassionate and caring towards patients and I felt I was going to get the help I needed after putting it off for so long. The day of my appointment, check in was ok, but the back office assistant that walked me to the waiting room was cold towards me. She walked at least 15-20 ft ahead of me all the way to the waiting room and I caught her looking me up and down as I put my purse on the counter. Once Dr. Nguyen walked in the room and started talking about my visit she seemed annoyed. I did have a lot of questions and that might have bugged her but I thought these consultations were about asking questions and finding what options I have. Like I mentioned before, this was the 1st time I was seeking cosmetic care and didn't know what would work best for me. I asked her about different procedures but she would just say no that won't work because of your type of skin but she didn't care to help me find a solution for something that would work or give me her professional recommendation. I felt that I was looked down on and that I wasn't worth her time. She wanted to prescribe a couple of medications for my skin and I said ok. Once the appointment goes from a consultation visit to a medical visit (medication prescribed) the office will charge you $120 fee. As I sat there waiting for the prescription, I thought about the way I was treated and the service I received, I figured they weren't deserving of mine! I am highly disappointed with Dr. Amy Nguyen's cold bed side manner, her lack of care and compassion but above all her lack of professionalism! Checking out was ok and asked to speak to the office manager. She was in a meeting so we spoke the following day. I made a formal complaint to her and explained what had happened. I felt her apology was sincere. I hope my complaint doesn't fall on deaf ears and they are both talked to! read more
