My father was scheduled for a glaucoma procedure on Nov. 21 with Dr. Choi, but it was cancelled at the last minute because the staff neglected to give him any preparation instructions and never informed that he'd need to stop taking his GLP-1 medication one week prior. I travelled 1,000+ miles to be with my father for this procedure, and we've been spent two days desperately trying to contact Rinae (their only scheduler) to get his procedure rescheduled before my departure. We've even gone in twice--only to get every possible excuse as to why Rinae can't take two minutes to speak with us or return our calls: "Oh, she's in a training all day." "Oh, she's busy with patients all day." When I inquired if they have an alternate scheduler, the answer was "No." Nobody else handles scheduling except Rinae, and scheduling seems to be her lowest priority. The manager here takes no responsibility--she tried to blame the surgical center for the cancelled procedure (which is not right), and she promised to have Rinae return our call, which hasn't happened. This isn't the only problem my father has had here. He previously had a laser treatment done by Dr. Choi, who insisted on doing it, despite my father having already done two prior laser treatments (through another doctor) with zero success. The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing and expecting a different result! Not only that--but the pressure in my father's eyes actually got WORSE after Dr. Choi pushed him into doing laser treatment for a third time. Which is why he urgently needs this other procedure done. Here's the kicker--this facility oddly closes-up for lunch. They lock the doors, and kick the patients out. My father came here for a mandatory check-up (after his laser treatment), and the pressure reading was so high that Dr. Choi was concerned and had him wait awhile to do another reading. But because they completely shut down for lunch, they made him wait outside (partially blind) for an hour instead of allowing him to sit in the waiting area. What a joke! This place clearly doesn't care about its patients--they seem to have a revolving door of them. If one or two are mistreated, it's no big deal to them. There have so many patients here at any given moment that the wait times (with an appointment) can be over an hour. Clearly the "care" in "healthcare" doesn't exist here. UPDATE: Rinae finally returned our calls, mere minutes before closing time. No apology for how difficult it has been to reach her, or for how long it has taken to contact us. Clearly couldn't care less. And no availability to get the procedure done in Modesto for TWO months! All this caused by their negligence to inform my father to stop taking certain medications beforehand.

I had a very negative experience with valley optometric. They advertised contacts online at a…read moresignificant discount to me. I purchased these contacts and picked them up upon delivery. The next day I received a call and was told it was a mistake on their part and I needed to give the contacts back. I was disappointed and felt it was not my fault that this mistake happened so I went in to speak to the manager Lillian. She explained it was one of her employee's mistake and was asking for me to give the contacts back. I asked them to please, if I give the contacts back to hang on to them for me so I can purchase them directly from you due to the inconvenience of this mix-up. At this point she threatened to kick me out of the practice if I did not give back the contacts. I told them I had a receipt and proof of the discount offer and had no obligation to give them back but as a courtesy I would give them back to them if they would accommodate me by hanging on to them and selling them to me at the price that was correct not the erroneous one caused by their employees mistake. Lillian angrily said she would see what she could do and proceeded to get me kicked out of the practice because I would not respond to her threats so she carried through on her threat to kick me out of the practice. I was given false advertisement and tricked into this problem by their mistake. When I asked for an accommodation and agreed to pay the amount they wanted that was not enough for them. I would not recommend them to anyone. They have signs all over saying that they will adjust your glasses at your own risk. This means if they break your glasses in attempting to adjust them you are financially responsible. Apparently though if they make a mistake and they are responsible for something they will put all the blame on the customer Make threats and carry through on these threats if they don't get exactly what they want.
