The optometrist is very polite and knowledgeable and i highly recommend her services, BUT the people she hired to manage everything else, are very rude and unprofessional. Often times I call and no one answers. When I had to reschedule a eye appointment, I called, and left a voicemail and didn't get a callback, and I know they have a no-show fee, so I called again and again, and nobody answered so I left a email and finally they answered the call and said they're going to charge me a no-show fee. In that case I told them I left a voicemail and I even provided proof that I had sent an email regarding my appointment that I can't make. they then told me that they will on their behalf, not charge me a no-show fee, like they are doing me a favor, do not recommend them at all anymore.

This review is based upon one of the workers named Amy. She took my father back and she was exceptionally rude. We were at the part where he puts his forehead against the machine and he sees a black square, and you press a button when you see it flicker. So my father Doesn't speak much English. Although he understands, he gets confused sometimes and I was trying my best to translate as much as possible. And you can clearly tell that Amy was getting very frustrated and irritated. Her eyes were widening and she was doing all these hand motions. At one time my dad had to repeat the test and she took a huge sigh and said we have to repeat the test because he isn't doing it properly. I mean listen... if you are going to get that irritated and don't have the slightest amount of patience or compassion. You are in the wrong field. I honestly couldn't believe that she was being so rude like that In front of me. Knowing I'm his daughter. I'm sorry I had to give this place such a bad review because Dr. Jasmeet Mann is a wonderful doctor. She truly is. I highly recommended her and the other staff itself seemed polite as well. The girls are all kind, helpful, and always go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with your glasses. I have gotten regular glasses and sunglasses from the office. They have a beautiful selection and the girls will always find something that looks good on you. They can even order frames for you if you want a different color other than what they have in the office. As far as the location, there is always a lot of room to park and the area is clean and safe. It can be hard to find the office if you have never been before so I would recommend entering the suites off Oakdale, next to Burger King and the apartments. The office is in the back corner. We go every December and can't wait to go back. Best doctor we have ever had. Prescriptions are always 100% and his exams are different than other places because he has new technology. She was very professional and extremely knowledgeable and was very patient with all our questions. She had great presence and was interesting to learn from. I have an eye condition that needed to be seen on an emergency basis, the morning before a three day weekend. I live in the Sierra foothills, but happened to be in Modesto. After several hours and calls to three different practices (including Sutter where my primary doctor is located), I found Advanced Retina Institute. The receptionist immediately understood and validated my medical concern. She was able to get me an appointment to be seen by Dr Chandron in 20 minutes. When I arrived the reception team and technicians were all incredibly kind. With a very busy office, they moved me through the steps toward seeing the doctor with amazing efficiency. Dr Chandron listened to my concern, gave me a thorough exam and talked with me about a plan to address my eye emergency over the weekend. We scheduled a convenient follow up based on my tight schedule the following week. They were incredibly flexible with appointment times. My follow up appointment was equally impressive. I love Dr Chandron's positive, kind, considerate, and proactive approach to eye healthcare. This practice is outstanding! He was looking at pictures of my retina, I asked if this was from the stroke? He snapped and said we're not talking about that right now! He was raising his voice, and he comes and takes my hand and told me I need to relax! I jerked my hand away. I never raised my voice! He kept raising his, I got up to leave and told him he was condescending and arrogant. I told him I'm here because my left side of my face goes numb and my eye has been affected since the stoke. It was just a simple question because I had concerns! He would not answer me. His assistant had to push him out the door. What a guy!! Ask a question and get yelled at. I guess when you're seeing 70 or 80 patients a day you don't have time to answer questions!! I've never seen a professional person act this way!! Never go see him!!!

You have to understand that my mom was EXIGENT about not getting a pair of glasses after her cataract surgery a few years back. She was so adamant, we had to pay extra for the fancy lenses to be put in her eyes at the time of the surgery. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE when my parents called me after their appointment GUSHING about Dr. Garrett and how my mom had also gotten a pair of glasses ordered! Understand that I have been BEGGING her to get glasses for years after her surgery and, somehow, this young man was able to manage what I had thought to be impossible. They gushed about how thorough he was with them. They gushed about how, even though my parents are ESL, he somehow managed helping them understand the findings/recommendations of the visit w/o an interpreter (which is usually me). AND THEN.....he recommended some eye drops to my mom who shares Central Valley dry eye issues with me. So, I ended up with the same eye drops I have been using for the last few weeks and they have been AMAZING for me. So...my parents glasses arrive and a complimentary blue cleaning cloth also arrives...one side has grippies so that your fingers don't slip against the cloth as you clean your glasses! TRULY....thank you for addressing the smallest things. For those of you out there who knows how difficult it can be to manage a set of aging parents, this has been a true blessing.

I originally had a great deal of confidence in this practice because of Dr. Irish. He was the only…read moredoctor who was able to properly diagnose an eye issue I was having after I had seen about three other doctors elsewhere who could not figure it out. When my insurance changed, I had to seek care at other offices, and none of them were able to give me the correct diagnosis. Dr. Irish eventually did, which is why I was very disappointed to learn that he is no longer with the practice. A year or two ago, while Dr. Irish was still the doctor here, I had an appointment and went through the entire process of having my glasses ordered. The technician collected my payment and told me the glasses would be ordered. I knew glasses could take some time, so I waited. After about a month without hearing anything, I finally called and found out that my prescription request had simply been forgotten. I ended up requesting a refund. More recently, I have been trying to get another exam scheduled. My original appointment was in February, but because of a family emergency, I had to reschedule. I eventually got an appointment with Dr. Irish several months later. Then, shortly before that appointment, I was contacted and told it needed to be rescheduled again, this time until the end of August. During that conversation, I was also informed that Dr. Irish was no longer with the practice and that there was a new doctor. I was surprised because I had not previously been told that Dr. Irish had left. I decided to keep the appointment because the practice already had my records and history, and after waiting so long, I did not want to start over somewhere else. Unfortunately, today I was contacted again and told that the new doctor has jury duty, so my appointment needs to be rescheduled once again. I completely understand that things happen, and I do not blame the new doctor for having jury duty. I also want to be very clear that I have no opinion about the new doctor because I have not even had the opportunity to meet them yet. My frustration is with the repeated rescheduling and the communication surrounding these changes. I sincerely hope the new doctor is wonderful. My disappointment is really with the overall experience. A prescription request was forgotten while Dr. Irish was still practicing there, I had to request a refund, my exam has now been rescheduled twice, and I have been trying to get this exam since February. I also only found out that the doctor I trusted was no longer there when I was already being contacted about rescheduling my appointment. Dr. Irish gave me a reason to have confidence in this practice. I just wish the communication and follow-through had given me the same confidence.
