After a bit of researching a few places in my area, I found there are plenty of options when it comes to choosing an optometrist. With so many to choose from I started with the reviews (most, if not all, of which had high praise from their clientele). So I decided to go based on proximity. This is what landed me on Stanislaus Optometric. The new patient check in process was pretty seamless. When asked what my visit was pertaining to, I simply said I was a new patient. To which I received the response, "Oh! Welcome! You must be Carlos." She hand broken eye contact with me. That simple gesture made me feel incredibly welcomed. Next I received a pretext exam with Marisela (sorry if that's spelled incorrectly). She was super kind and explained the reasoning behind each step of the exam. She moved with a certain fluidity that instilled confidence and pride in her work. Once all the tests were done I was moved into an exam room, where I was greeted with a minute by Dr. Steven Perry. Dr. Perry was absolutely terrific and incredibly personable. He immediately took note off and delivered a swift recommendation for glasses after both reviewing my results and providing additional examination. He then led me to Veronica to go over what allotments my insurance afforded me and assisted me in picking a bunch of frames. She is new to this location. We talked about her time in the the medical field. It is clear to see that this location cares about its staff, but I firsthand saw how they care for each other and their patients. I saw people coming and going. The level of care and service was consistent across the board. I highly recommend giving Stanislaus Optometric Center a chance to provide you top notch care. read more

OMG! Never have I ever had such a great experience during my eye exams ! My initial call with Andrew was a breeze! Dr. Nuccio and His staff are by far the most friendliest I have met ! My exam was quick, Dr took the time to go over my contact options (first timer) and gave me a 7 day complimentary set to try out ! Griselda was sooo patient with me! I am so indecisive with glasses and sunglasses to get and they have soo many options to choose from! She stuck with me the whole time, gave me honest opinions and we got through it. My first experience was the phone call to make my appointment. I believe the persons name was Andrew who answered. He was very friendly and professional and had such a great phone voice. When I came in for my appointment I was very impressed with how beautiful the office was. I've gone to several optometry office in the past and none of them has compared to this office. Dr. Nuccio was very friendly and outgoing. I was impressed with how detailed he was and that he took the time to answer all of my questions. (I had a lot). Dr Nuccio is so patient. My eyes are very sensitive and I had to try on many different pairs of contacts to find one that was comfortable. He assured me I wasn't a burden and he would keep on trying until he found something that worked. He only charged me one fitting fee even though I had to come back multiple times. I went for an eye exam and new frames. The place is rather small and fhey have a limited amount of frames avalible, the area they have for looking at frames is rather cramped it can be difficult to look around when other people are there. The total amount of time i spent there was TWO HOURS and twenty minutes, most of my time was spent waiting. Mind you it wasnt busy at all. I scheduled a new patient appointment with Dr Nuccio based off of all the great reviews I read here on Yelp. In my visit Dr Nuccio was very kind, seemed very knowledgeable, and I loved the staff. After my eye exam I was shown some frames. I picked a pair out, signed, paid, and it seemed like I had found a new office I was going to be extremely happy with. It took a little over a month for my glasses to come in. When I got the call that they were ready, I went down to the office and sadly found out they had ordered the wrong frames. The staff encouraged me to try them out for a week, and so I did. A week into wearing them, my eyes were hurting and straining. Come to find, the prescription was wrong too. I took the glasses back and the staff said they could send them back to be corrected. I said no thank you, I think I'd rather have a refund. They seemed horrified that I asked that! Dr Nuccio eventually approved the return because it was their error, but the lady that was helping me with the refund explained that for the future, I should be aware that they don't do returns. Fine enough, since I hadn't planned to buy from them again anyway. Well, after that small issue, about a week later I received a letter in the mail from them that Dr Nuccio had dismissed me as a patient. No reason was given. I'm sorry that I seemed to have offended them by asking for a return, but to be dismissed as a new patient seemed kind of childish. However, I didn't contact them with questions after I received the letter. I saw it as a blessing that this was not an office to do business with. Skip forward to a year later. I check my mail and I see another letter from their office. I open it and it's a statement saying I owe them $38. The statement was vague on why I even owed this amount. I contacted my insurance company and they were confused too because everything showed that the claim was paid in full. The representative from my insurance was nice enough to call Stanislaus Optometric on my behalf to clear the situation up. When she spoke to someone in billing, they said it was a system error on their end and to have me just disregard the bill. Though I'm glad my insurance company came through for me, how awful for Stanislaus Optometric to try one more classless time to collect money off of a patient that they no longer wanted to see. Incredibly unprofessional and shady! My advice to anyone, is if they get a bill from this place or any charges they feel uncomfortable with, please question or dispute it first before paying. Times are tough for everyone and every company, but if this place keeps trying these unethical attempts to collect off of their patients, someone is going to be bold enough to sue them for it one day. And if you go to this office, be prepared to purchase their frames and be happy with what you get. They also don't like to give you your prescription so you can take it elsewhere. My sister and I we were going to see Dr Nuccio for the last 5 years, he is a good doctor, I was happy with him; but the people working with him are not very professional, there is a blond lady probably related to the dr, who is worst that a car dealer sales person, since the first time, I refused to get my frames and glasses with them, to pushy, the second year I went to get my eyes checked Dr Nuccio asked me where I got my glasses, and I told him I got them at Costco, he put Costco down on the quality of their product, I thought this was very unprofessional..... my sister didn't want to go back to him any more; but not for Dr Nuccio; but for the pushy people very much forcing you to buy the glasses from them. Two years ago, I just requested my prescription, Dr didn't sign the prescription. Last year I went again, requested my prescription only, and again Dr put Costco quality down, and he of course said his products were much better... I told him I had also to see my budget. This year my sister told me she will give Dr Nuccio one more chance since she has new insurance. We saw Dr Perry, a new doctor, he was very professional, very meticulous, my sister and I were very happy about it, then he said my sister had a good package of 300 dollars for frames and glasses, so my sister decided to get the glasses there, the blond lady came right away to help my sister; but since we already know how pushy and unprofessional is this lady, my sister requested someone that speaks Spanish. This lady came, and her Spanish was much worse that my English, she told my sister she had a package of 300 dollars, anything over we had to pay. Then I told her we have to go around and look for frames, she got so rude, she told us we can't go around, we can't touch frames, we have to wait until she bring us the frames, I hold her that was ok, so she brings some simple frames no brand name, ugly ones and we ask how much were the frames, and she said 285, my sister was in shock...... my sister is very easy going; I'm not...... I told her to give me to grand total, she add some numbers and told me, if the glasses were for me or for my sister, in other words she told me she won't deal with me, so I was so mad and told her I was the one paying for the difference, she gave me a grand total of 7 hundred and something, so I told her...... "you know the packet from the insurance is 300, and instead to help me you got the frames that is costing almost the whole amount of the packet", So I told her to get other frames. At the end my sister told me it's ok to get the new offer, it was a difference of almost 200 dollars, so I told her, I'll pay 50% now and the difference when I pick up the glasses, she told me I had to sign a contract, where I accept their rules, they have to make a photocopy of my credit card, and the glasses will be ready in 30 days or more. So my sister got so mad, she got up and told me to get out of there, so we requested our prescription, and left. We are not going back there anymore, I can speak up for myself and my loved ones, I feel so very sorry for those people that don't speak the language, or are elderly and are treated like that........ this place is so bad, I spoke to my coworkers and they told me to place this on YELP, and to my surprise, there are so many people complaining for the same issues. We went to Target in Turlock, my sister got a beautiful pair of frames (Giorgio Armani) with so many features, I only pay almost 120 dollars for the difference with insurance included, the guy was so nice (Erik) he tried hard to accommodate everything into the 300 packet, for me this is the way to do business, the glasses were back in 8 days, and my sister is very happy. We both are not going back to Stanislaus Optometric Center, my next appointment I'll continue going to Costco or maybe Target now. Don't use this place..... read more

Dr Ed and his staff are the best! They all care about you as a person, not just a patient. Dr Ed even talks to my son about school, his future, and things that he cares about. This is the best optometrist office we've ever been to. Also, their selection for Eyewear is very extensive so you're going to find what you want. I'm torn with this review because there are pros and cons: Pros: Dr. Nuccio is great! He is patient and friendly when asked questions. The glasses are all very nice and cute. Very clean office. Cons: The wait is unbearable for the wait room and even worse for the eye exam room. I have been there 4 times and have had to wait over an hour, once even going to the receptionist and asking how much longer. The glasses are all mainly name brand and are very expensive. The staff can at times be very pushy and rude, not patient when trying on glasses. They tried helping me when I'm looking, but offer glasses that I specifically do not like. Dr.Nuccio is fantastic. I've been going here for a few years and I didn't need any glasses, as I aged however I realized that my eyes tired a lot when I read. After some tests it was confirmed that I needed a light prescription. He's very good at answering all of your questions and attending to all your needs. I plan on going back in a few months because I want to get some new glasses I can wear all the time with the reading at the bottom. Just makes it easier so I don't have to carry them around all the time. I just have to make sure they're covered, you guys understand! On another note, my wife has been going here ever since she moved to the Valley and that's been a long time. She hasn't complained once and she's worn glasses and contacts forever. He's also great with my kids, since they both have their own prescriptions. When I had to have my glasses adjusted they did right there on the spot and did it perfect. I'm not one to complain or leave bad reviews but my experience was just horrible and unprofessional as couple be. Booked my appointment well in advance (about a month). Received a appointment card when I booked it, received a email confirmation about 2 weeks ago. I work 6-7 days a week and got off work early for my appointment. I get there and they say they canceled my appointment because the dr was leaving...what?!?!? So I told them I took off work to come in to my appointment and the response was yea sorry we called twice in the last 2 days? I never got anyone's phone call nor did they leave a voicemail. I was referred to this place buy a old co worker and Dr. Nuccio was great last time but this was a true low blow and I know my business probably doesn't mean anything to them but I'll do everything in my power to let people know how I was treated. read more
