I had Advanced Door Works come out to do a tune up and also change out the bottom of the garage door gasket (the door itself sounded noisy and operated jerkily enough that I didn't think it would make it through another winter without problems). While doing the routine maintenance they inspected all the parts, and they found some warped rollers and replaced all of them all (it was over and above the tune up, but still very reasonable). The door now operates as smooth as when it was brand new. Everyone I talked to from the office to the field technicians had genuine expertise in their business, it was a pleasant experience communicating with people that know their business and aren't reading off of a script someone wrote for them. read more

Great experience buying new insulated steel doors. After contacting about half dozen garage door companies for bids on a new set of doors, (including Costco...THAT was a miserable experience...never did get a price), found ADW, small local company (BIG advantage). No games, great pricing, easy to do business with, great tear out and install. Replaced 20year old insulated wood doors with insulated steel doors...WOW what a difference! Smooth operation, openers no longer struggle, quiet, solid seal. I called these folks for an over the phone bid for standard doors (I knew model and options already). Got great price, they came by for site inspection once I decided to go with them, (no upsale, just ensuring nothing weird about my install). The guy took a SMALL deposit right there in diveway (not the 50%+ some others require!), and he ordered the doors from supplier right there before he left! Couple week later, doors were in, scheduled install and BAM, new doors. Installers charged my card upon completion, and done! They gave us a 2 hour window, 1-3 and showed up just before 1. I LOVE that. They came in UNDER the price that they quoted over the phone and fixed our broken garage door quickly. They also came out SAME day! My husband dealt with them mostly, but when I went into the garage, I was greeted nicely. You never know what someone is going through on a particular day and business owners are no different. Maybe someone's sense of humor is different than yours, but it's a lesson I'm learning and something I try to keep in mind when writing reviews. No one is perfect so if they do a good job, unless they are blatantly rude or threatening, try giving them the benefit of the doubt. I was referred by a neighbor to use advanced door works. I had just gotten back from vacation and realized the spring had broken. I was dreading to have to call any company to get an idea of what it would cost me. However, when I called they were the most reasonable in the whole area to complete the work. Spring broke in the morning on Saturday and I called shortly after noon for an appointment. Made one for Monday. Got a call an hour or so later and said they could squeeze me in now which was great!. Ned came and replaced both springs and a roller that was broken. I paid and Ned left. I had to pickup and dispose of the broken roller. I then tried the garage door opener and nothing happened. I flipped the breaker and the opener was getting power but wasnt moving the garage door which was left in the open position. I called and spoke to the lady dispatcher who promptly called Ned. I got a call minutes later and was told to flip the lever on the garage door to re-engage it with the opener which fixed the problem. Could have been 5 star if they were better at cleanup and tested the system to make sure everything worked before leaving. read more

One of my garage door springs broke. I called a few companies to shop price. What I found was companies were all over the board for price, warranty, and the quality of springs. Turns out garage door springs are rated on cycles, I was quoted springs ranging from 7500 cycles (1 cycle is one up and down) to 25000 cycles. There was also a range of warranty from 1 year to 4 years. Cost was also all over the board too. I decided on Advanced Door because they offered the highest quality spring, with the best warranty and they had a fixed price. Advanced Door Works was recommended to me by my neighbor after a cable on our garage door opening assembly had broken. I received a call back from a very nice lady who helped to set a time and said that Ned Schvaneveldt would be coming out to fix our problem. Ned is a wonderful person and was extremely helpful. Ned noticed that the cable had popped off and noted that the springs had put in a few years back were actually two strong from a door as light as ours. He recommended changing those out to lighter duty springs. Without me explaining what I had seen our door do with the old springs, he explained the issues that are typically seen with a heavier spring and said that he could easily fix the issues. He noted his prices up front and charged me exactly what he quoted. He also noted potential issues on our smaller door and took time to assess what could be done in advance of that happening.
