Matt did a good job installing the doors. My only concern is with the quality of paint on the steel doors. Other manufacturers state the thickness of the paint on both sides of the doors, but the manufacturer Efficiency is currently using (Mid-America Door, now owned by Garaga) doesn't mention the thickness of the paint. In discussing the issue with Mid-American (in Oklahoma) they indicated the painting is not done by them, but by a subcontractor, and the numbers they gave me seemed pretty thin. Sure enough, one of the door panels that was installed had some paint rubbed off. I don't think it was rubbed off by the installer, but rather in the shipping process, although the doors were pretty well protected in shipment. Matt came back with some touch up paint, but that is not what you want to see on your brand new thousands of $$$ door. Efficiency used to use doors manufactured by DoorLink, and I'm not sure why they changed to Garaga/Mid-American. I believe the DoorLink doors have a primer and thicker coat of paint. read more

Yesterday we had a new Spring installed by Ryan, the tech from Efficiency Garage Door. The process was easy and professional. Our garage door weighs 420 pounds and is made out of solid wood, inside and out. We began by weighing the door with a scale. A formula was applied and Ryan ordered the special spring. The first place said it would be about $600 but they couldn't get to it until Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week. Same day service! I noticed a frayed cable on one side of our garage and upon looking at the local reviews, I called Efficiency. The technician came out the same day, maybe 3hrs after I called, and he gave me a pre-notice 30min before heading to the house. Our garage door broke late one Sunday night (came off the track and wouldn't fully open or fully shut). We called EGDS and one other company to come out the next day to give estimates. The other company came out first, and the technician said we would need to replace the rollers and the opener for a total of about $900. I quickly called EGDS to see if I could explain the issue to them and get an estimate over the phone to compare prices. I spoke with Tony, who said that they would only charge $468 for the same work. So I let the other technician go, and Russell from EGDS came over later that afternoon. Russell was friendly, efficient and not only did he stick with the price that Tony gave me - he actually reduced the price for us, because he said we didn't need new rollers afterall. After getting a few bids to repair a broken torsion spring, I chose Efficiency Garage Door Service. They responded quickly and the price was reasonable when compared to other companies. The guy who completed the work was professional and friendly. He was in and out quickly. While he was there he lubricated the door panel hinges and appropriate parts of the motor without asking and at no cost. We had a 20-plus-year-old garage door opener that had been in poor health, but I was able to keep it running for several years with duct tape and baling wire (actually, I was able to get parts online, but that's how it felt). Finally, it started to really crap out on us. EGDS sent Matt out on a Saturday, and he advised getting a new opener; the motor was failing on our old one. He didn't have one with him, though, so he made some adjustments to the spring tension to help our old motor get through its final days, and gave me a quote on a new opener (and didn't charge for the call!). Within a day or two, the motor began making some ominous groaning noises while operating, so we scheduled the work. Matt got it done in about two hours this past Saturday, and everything is working perfectly. The new opener is as quiet as he promised, and we should be good to go for another 20-plus years. Matt was completely on-time to our house on both calls, and we thought the prices charged were completely fair. We've used EGDS in the past, and will again in the (hopefully far) future.
